Agreed - I don't eat a lot, but I really enjoy higher fat, richer foods. But I eat a lot less of them than other things, like veggies. I feel more satiated, both physically and mentally, when I allow myself to eat the foods I enjoy (in moderation, of course).

I tend to agree with janejellyroll. For me personally, when I try to cut out entire food groups, I just end up feeling deprived and then indulge too much. I don't think most foods are inherently bad. All in moderation :) That being said, different things work for different people, and some may have more willpower than I.

I have the same issue. Recently, I've been upping my protein and really trying to stay away from sugar/candy and other empty calories. It also helps me to allow myself to indulge in certain things so that I don't feel that urge to "cheat." I eat/drink full-fat dairy. Also, when I have attempted to completely cut out…

As it turns out, it wasn't my IT band/runner's knee. It is patellar tendonitis and also a "structural issue," according to my chiropractor. Apparently I pronate when I run and my pelvis, knee, and foot are all out of alignment. Hoping that the icing and adjustments help :/

That sounds great! I am going to try this today...and I might add a bit of PB2!
-
I should add - I have recently started mashing up a banana and adding that. Perhaps a bit too much sugar...

FWIW, I just try to get a decent amount of protein. My favorite post-workout recovery drink is chocolate milk + pb2 (powdered peanut butter) + greek yogurt + a bit of protein powder. Tastes great!

I think that a vegetarian diet can definitely be healthier...I just think that most people don't put enough effort into it. They don't tend to replace meat with healthy options. Also, I think that many meat eaters tend to eat waaaaay too much meat at the expense of other stuff, which can obviously be very unhealthy.
-
Yes. totally agree. Find healthy foods you love and stick to those - whether or not they're meat (again, unless you feel ethically compelled to give up meat). The diet you enjoy is the one that will work for you long-term.

I went veg a few years ago...not for my diet, but for ethical reasons. I actually gained weight when I stopped eating meat. I think it's because I subbed carbs and sugar when I was hungry, and tended not to get as full. Now, I'm eating a much more balanced and healthy veg diet. I think you just need to be willing to give…
