  • The recipe builder has a horrible glitch where if you want to use the same recipe but tweak a few of the ingredients, it will let you go through all the trouble, but then when you go to save it, it won't save it! :(
  • My sister-in-law did T-Tap about two years ago and lost an astonishing amount of inches. I think it's a good program. I'm just too lazy to do it. I'd rather just walk. :)
  • Lord, I hope so, cuz I am really struggling to not get depressed over what the scale shows as my weight. It hasn't moved in weeks, it seems, even going up a pound for no reason, but then all my old smaller pants are fitting again. I weigh a good five pounds more than when I used to wear them, so I know I'm losing inches,…
  • MFP has me at 1,200 calories per day to lose a pound per week. I usually have one day a week (sometimes two) that I overeat/overdrink by 2,000 calories, yet I've still managed to lose almost 30 pounds since August of last year, and that was with a six-week period of time where I was away from home and had to be satisfied…
  • Thanks for letting me know! I changed my setting. Can you see it now?
  • Oh, thanks for letting me know! That's actually about the amount I've lost, so I thought it was mine. :)
  • I did manage to get out to take a short 45-minute walk. Only went 2 miles, but, hey, it's something. And so far so good on eating right today. Let's remember that it's okay to live it up once in a while -- that's just life and the way we will always live life -- but we've just got to get back on the right path ASAP, sooner…
  • Cool. Thanks again.
  • Thank you, Malibu927. I was afraid of that. I really liked seeing the ticker. I wonder why they took it away.
  • So, unfortunately, my 870-calorie popcorn ended up the beginning of a binge for me. I ended up polishing off a bottle of wine and dining on New York style - Roasted Garlic Bagel Crisps with cheese and salami on them, a Klondike Neopolitian Ice Cream Bar, and half of a grilled Italian sandwich. Sure would love to know what…
  • Just ate 870 calories worth of buttered popcorn popped in coconut oil. Delish, but now feeling the inevitable guilt trip of, "Why did you do this again to yourself?" Not giving up, by any means. Will just start fresh again. Just hoping I don't do the usual, "Well, I've already messed up today, I'll just eat/drink anything…
  • Totally understand. I just drank 1.5 bottles of Andre's and shared a box of Trader Joe's All Butter Shortbread Cookies with Chocolate Filling with my husband, so I ended up eating 1,876 calories just for my night-time dessert. Before that, I had eaten 1,970, so a total of 3,846 calories for today. A total aberration.…
  • Shakeology. It's expensive, but my husband and I love it.
  • BTW, I'm in an RV, so limited room to exercise in here. :)
  • Thanks, All. DanGemmell, 1200 calories is what MFP put me at in order to lose 1 pound per week. I am 5 foot, 1.75 inches and 52 years old. I am not really that active at all, really, except for when I get out and do my 1.5-2 hour walk every day. Do you think 1200 is still too low? I have been averaging losing 1.2 pounds…
  • I'm 52 years old, 5'1.75" and currently weigh 175.3, down from 201.1. My first goal is to get down to 136. Anything I can manage to get below 136 I will consider icing on the cake. I used to weigh around 115 in my high school years, 120-125 in my early 20s. Since age 30, the lowest weight I've managed to get to is 125.
  • Hi, Emily. :)

  • I just saw this on Yahoo. Thought it might help. https://www.yahoo.com/beauty/the-scary-truth-what-wine-1311167895281718.html
  • Thank you so much, CyberTone!
  • Chewable papaya is wonderful for indigestion. Chamomile tea might be helpful, too. I've overeaten by 1000 calories a day (mostly from alcohol) a number of times since July 29th, at least once a week, sometimes twice but I've managed to lose 23.5 pounds since then. Just jump back on the wagon the next day and it won't do…
  • I know how much that hurts. I've had too many instances to even relate to you here, but I'll tell you a few. I was walking one day and an older lady asked if I was expecting a rose. I had no idea what she was talking about. She said, "Back in my day, when we were expecting a baby, we said we were expecting a rose." When I…
  • I used to weigh every day, and it determined my mood. Lost weight, felt great. Gained weight, there went my day. Now I weigh once a week. It makes it fun cuz it always says I've lost, and it gives me something to look forward to and keeps me in line, as in no overeating before weigh day. :)
  • Great post! I had the same thing happen. I was measuring and weighing things but not losing as fast as I thought I should. My first mistake, of course, was thinking I should be losing closer to 2 pounds a week instead of 1 pound or even .5 pounds. I had the old diet mentality of needing to lose NOW. I've now realized I am…
  • Just wanted to update all of you that since the scale wasn't really registering what I wanted, I decided to try on some pants that I had tried on a couple months ago and couldn't even come close to getting the zipper closed, was like five inches apart. Well, they zipped up this time! Tight, but zipped up! So, yes, scale is…
  • Thank you all. It's so wonderful being part of this community. I am definitely staying with it, and I'm not going to get down that I'm not losing at the rate I think I should. As long as the trend is down, all is well. I am really not dieting at all, but eating like I intend to eat for the rest of my life, so the weight…
  • Yes, I weigh and measure everything and try to be as precise as possible, to the point of crying the other day because I couldn't figure out how to split up and measure the popcorn I popped the other day. I drive my poor husband crazy. :) Thanks, Lorrpb. I am definitely happy that I have lost 20 pounds, but I just thought,…
  • I've just started making chocolate pudding out of raw cacao powder and plain Greek yogurt, usually about 2-3 TBS stirred into a cup of the yogurt and sweetened with liquid vanilla stevia. If it's difficult to mix, just add a little water or skim milk. My first thought was that it wasn't bad but could never pass for…
