  • Working nights I would try and get to the gym after work at 7AM, or at least come home and do something. Not always easy, but I found it would be easier to go to the gym when I'm already out and about rather than leave the house later to do so. Plus it freed up the rest of my day for naptime! However, switching to a 3-11…
  • I would just be happy with some time with him! Also maybe a new HRM if he's going to get me anything. We agreed no gifts this year however...but I did buy him The Legend of Neil on DVD just for fun >:-)
  • I was the same way! I still love my soda way too much though, and always regular! I definitely agree with keeping a water bottle on hand at all times. When I first started making the switch I had a 33.5oz water bottle I kept filled at all times, and it really helped!
  • I just went to the doctor this afternoon with a knee injury (still have no clue what I did to it...), and I was told NOT to - but if I must continue doing my cardio, swimming or the exercise bikes are the best option. I was even told no elliptical :-P. Thank God I have a gym membership as well :-(
  • I swore to my hubby that I'd wait till later on down the line for when more games out, and for the price to drop (if it does). Not gonna lie though, it's driving me nuts. I WANT IT!
  • I could TOTALLY see that. You know he's got a big personality, and probably a dorky one at that!
  • I consider a cheat day necessary and beneficial to weight loss! I know I always ate a ton of horrible things before, and still enjoy them a lot. If I banned them entirely, I'd crave and crave. Now I remind myself to look forward instead to them, and to work hard to earn them. Therefore, on my cheat day/meal, I can indulge…
  • The OLD me: 1. Pepsi 2. Pringles (specifically cheddar cheese) 3. store brand Dutch cocoa cookies ($1 a package, but 100 calories each cookie!) 4. Klondike bars (oreo variety) 5. Wavy Kays potato chips 6. Helluva Good French Onion Dip 7. Wheat Thins 8. Pepperoni 9. Smirnoff ice or Mike's Hard Lemonade (:-D) 10. A candy bar…
  • I'm also intrigued by this - I just joined as well, and am putting together a bag to take with me!
  • Ours has restricted hours on weekends as well, but they've just opened, and we're in a small town - and the hours are STILL a lot better than our YMCA or other fitness center! So I think ours will be fine. It's just a matter of making time when they are open. For me it's not a challenge - getting out at 7AM from work each…
  • I've started off this weeks' challenge miserably! To be fair, though, Saturday was my Grandma's 90th surprise birthday party, and my family is full of good cooks O:-). Then, ya know, going out....to the bars :-!. Yesterday more family things with Grandma and family in from out of town...so much good food. Had a feeling…
  • Hey everyone! 26 years old, looking to lose just over 40 pounds as well! MFP helped me drop about 20 before, then I let bad habits get me again :-(. Feel free to add me as well! Always enjoy reading everyone's updates and seeing their progress! :-)
  • I'm also at a point where I know, deep down, I desperately want to move to AZ where the weather is considerably warmer and sunnier year round, and we're now heading into a season that is dark and cold dreary here in NY. Totally not helping anything :-(
  • Have you been staying AWAY from McDonald's right along? True, it's not the healthiest option in the world, and it can wreak havoc on your digestive tract - but it could do that anyway. Most people here are saying not to do it, as it's SO unhealthy - but you already know that. Once in a while, however, will not hurt you.…
  • Hmm...methinks the hardest part here will be the ONE, the DIET soda part O:-). I love my regular pepsi - been good about cutting it back, and drinking diet on occasion, but I do love my regular O:-)
  • Name: Jessica Age: 26 SW: 188 CW: 184 GW: 140 About yourself: I've struggled with weight most of my life, and have been committed to losing it now! I was on MFP almost two years and lost 20 pounds doing this - tracking and exercising - and then I stopped and went back to old habits and old clothes :-P. Now I'm back and…
  • Exercise! Learn to enjoy it now. Go into nursing now - you are smart enough and capable of it; don't wait a few years and then be behind the curve!
  • We have the bowflex ones. Hubby has used them faithfully for his own lifting, then P90x, and now with Body Beast; and when ChaLEAN Extreme calls for weights, they're the ones I go to. They are costly, but they are wonderful - can go up to 52.5 lbs each, and very easy to use! Definitely worth the investment.
  • I also am always looking for supportive friends on MFP, who post regularly and log in routinely. A lot of people on my list have stopped logging in! I myself am at day 210 - I always make it a point to try to look around and post, even on "cheat" days (example - I've been sick the past couple days, so I haven't logged;…
  • No more water, only Pepsi! And junk food all the time....mmmm. And who wants to work out? It feels so much better to snuggle on the couch under a blanket with a good book! The answer to this for me is quite simple - I'd gain, and quickly. A lot. I'm at a point now where even if I have a bad day and can't work out or don't…
  • The people who are insulting you are more than likely miserable with themselves, and the only way they can feel better is to try and tear you down when you are actually DOING something to improve your life! 26 pounds is a LOT of weight, and is definitely nothing to ridicule! Keep on walking, and definitely turn on some…
  • I'm just starting C25K for the first time, and I'm a little nervous! Treadmill is my best option at this point, but I'm going to try and incorporate some outdoors running in to try and improve. There's a 5K I'd like to do coming up, and I really want to get into top running shape! Friend request sent! :)
  • Totally a nerd then! I'd put a sad face, except I'm actually pretty happy the way I am XD. Can't exactly say I've watched Red Dwarf, but I do love my Monty Python. Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings were my HUGE obsessions, and the Legend of Zelda. I've considered many times over the years getting a Triforce tattoo - just…
  • Nearly two years ago, it was seeing my weight steadily climb higher. I gained weight right before my wedding and almost couldn't fit into the wedding dress - I still cringe every day thinking about how that felt, how mortifying and disgusting I felt. And from there, it got worse and worse, and I just kept coming up with…
  • How well I remember those days....
  • Link from the Zelda series. Totally. Adult Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess...yeah. :-)
  • It took several weeks before I ever started seeing a difference, and even then I didn't SEE it. The scale said I was losing, the measurements were coming up shorter, even my clothes were fitting a LOT better, but for me it wasn't until I took some after pictures and compared them to BEFORE pictures that I saw differences -…
  • Sent out a request! I'm always looking for other nurses to talk to as well - we definitely do get it! ;-). Trying to tell my husband or family and friends about certain things, and I always get odd looks. Sigh ;-)
  • Seeing it as frequently as I do, I have to believe it's worse on the family than it is on the patient. I can't blame you for being terrified in the least - it's so scary. People with dementia need so much more patience and caring and routine. I give so much credit to the families who care for their "sick" loved one,…
  • Someone else mentioned it, and I'd forgotten - we also have the Wii Fit, and the Kinect, and numerous games for both. Your Shape Fitness Evolved is my best friend some days :-P
