I know this post is rather old but it seems to still be living with current posts. i had my surgery July 2000 (14 years ago) and I was 336 post op, lowest weight I got to was 185 and now currently 275. I gained 90 lbs back. I am obviously much older now and need to lose this weight. I need friends to help and encourage me.…

I haven't hit 10,000 every day but doing pretty good. I got in over 8800 steps today. I think if I walked the mall or around the block a few more times I would hit the goal. Tomorrow is another day!

I like this challenge. Is there any easy way to keep track of the # of hours exercised?

You look amazing, congratulation. Such an inspiration to those who have over 100 to lose and are just starting.
-
Wow amazing, I know you have motivated me!

I don't use the diarys I view as a was of motivation but just ideas of what to eat. I get into ruts where I eat the same thing over and over and then when I get tired of them is when I usually just eat badly. So at least viewing what others are trying and eat just puts thoughts in my head of ideas of what I can eat. I…

Hi there I was diagnosed with PCOS in 1998, of course I am horrible because I do not really follow the recommended diet so I am sure that doesn't help, but I figure baby steps first. I want to learn portion control, and making better choices, hopefully with that and exercise I can still lose the weight.

I target 1500-1600 each day and yes there are some days I go over with the extra exercise calories. I am losing slower but I am the first to admit I am not measuring everything 100% and I know that is a horrible trap because portions could be bigger than what I am logging. I am working on this and long as I never give up I…

Amazing, you look so great and your approach was like my life story too. I hope to one day soon be posting my success story here. Thank you for being an inspiration.

Welcome to MFP. 1.) as far as ways to save money on diet, food, etc. I would suggest don't look at MFP as a "diet". For me it was a lifestyle change that has to be done long term. There is not an option to quit when it is life. Budget wise, I try to find recipes where I can make casseroles, or use the crockpot, and that…

I will concur with everyone else, log everyday, bad, good, add notes as to how you were feeling and the kind of day you had. but on another note - if you have the app on your phone I find it very easy to log everyday. I was even out for dinner with friends last Thursday and while I dont play or look at my phone when out…

I do, I have to. Otherwise I would forget what I ate. It's easy too which the app on my phone, when I'm out I log instantly.

I don't eat them myself. Although there are a day here and there I may go over my calories, but then I do just try to get in more exercise or if I haven't exercised that day, then I get some in.

Hi Rachel....your story is a lot like mine only I was with ww for a few years. Looking forward to losing with MFP....... Everyone is supportive and the program is easy, just track. I like not having to convert calories into points.

Thank you everyone for all the wonderful support and responses. I can see this was the right choice for me and I look forward to each day with MFP. By knowing the calories, fat, sugars, etc I can make a informed decision on if things are worth it or not. I have already learned there are some items I was eating all the time…

Thank you for your response. My best friend lost 50 with WW before they changed the program a few years ago and once they did she gained her weight back too. She logs on another website but i'm trying to get here to MFP so we can support one another. Congratulations on your success so far!

Good morning I'm new to MFP but not new to logging food, I just wanted to check out this site as I'm getting a little bored with my other one. I enjoy logging everyday its an awareness factor for myself to hopefully make better choices everyday. I would love to hear from others, what are some of the things you enjoy about…
