Great post Sara! It's pretty commonplace to get it mixed up here on MFP. I've myself made the mistake of confusing the two on a reply post recently. Maintenance > BMR Maintenance > MFP caloric goal (for weight loss) But MFP caloric goal should not be < BMR

Q: What if it you're wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts too? What can I say, I like all black:blushing: as my gym outfit...though my shoes are silver instead of black.

Great job by your husband! Question: does he do any weight training in addition to P90X? If not, that's probably the best route for him to increase his lean body mass going forward

Right now: to complete the "300" workout in less than 20 minutes Future: to complete an ironman triathlon

Here's a good article on how thermogenics, like OxyElite Pro work: http://www.livestrong.com/article/25926-thermogenics-work/

I realized when I wrote it that line may seem illogical with regards to fitness, but for many unhealthy people who may also have high blood pressure, studies have shown that thermogenics like OEP can do further harm. There are widely-known possible side effects: hypertension, tachycardia, heart attack or stroke. Elevated…

Starting with machines is not a bad idea. You don't have to focus on proper form as much, which is critical in free weights, and you get a chance to develop your muscles before tackling free weights. Best thing to do is meet with a trainer (once or twice) at your gym who will show you how to use the machines properly -…

I think it may be useful to understand why you want to use it before anyone proffers an opinion. For the general public, I think it would be a bad idea to use it (or any thermogenic product) in order to lose weight fast as there are serious health risks (elevated heart rates for one) and would just be a temporary solution…

Agree. Bodpod. But to see your body fat % trend (not necessarily accurate) over a period of time, a good body composition monitor like a Tanita would prove useful.

Thanks for posting. That article offers great advice.

Rubio's Chicken Balsamic & Roasted Veggie Salad - 310 cals / 29g C / 20g P / 11g F with dressing included but 950mg sodium. The one thing I try to be really careful with regarding most restaurant salads is the sodium level...and it's quite hard to figure out when they exclude the dressing from the nutritional info

Awesome job Ray. U are definitely an inspiration.

I too work out starting around 9pm and there are still a few people around too when my gym closes at 11pm. I don't know who was being rude or ignorant, but know that the time really doesn't matter...as long as you do it and stick with it.
