  • Wow what a piece of work. Good on your for not stooping to her level!!! To make myself feel better when people piss me off I have little conversations with them where I come up with all the good retorts like, "Oh well you look like you have a long way to go too want to be workout buddies?" or "Well since you seem to be…
  • I agree with the majority...if it is just soreness in the muscles, more then likely it is that your muscles are just not used to the workout, they are starting to work overtime. As long as you are not in pain I say work out again today. I am one of those odd people that LOVE that post-exercise pain in my muscles...lol. It…
  • Well day 1 is down...I switched to the Classic version. My legs feel like jello and my abs hurt. I am not sure how many calories I burned...I am just going to log it as strength I think...
  • I am doing mine tonight too...I will have a crap load of cardio done. I do Zumba on Mon, Tue and Wed. I could probably do without the Cardio one but I will follow the program the right way I think :)
  • I am not sure about the calorie burn but I will wear my HR monitor tomorrow and let you know :) here are my starting stats: Start Date: 8/1/11 Start Weight: 147 BMI: 25.2 Waist: 31.5 Hips: 42 Thighs: 23 I think I am doing the Slim and Lift version :)
  • Yup we start tomorrow!!! Woohoo :) I am planning on doing measurements and pictures tonight.
  • I am not planning on following the food plan...it is just too hard. I have 2 kids and my husband is stationed in Korea right now so I cannot cook 2 different meals. I am just going to do the workouts and continue to count my calories and watch what I eat :) I think I am doing the Slim and Lift...I need to check when I get…
  • I am going to start Monday!!!!! You want to go through it together??
  • Hi Selena!!! I am certified to teach Zumba...I got it in May of this year. First as far as being in shape...do not worry!! At my training session, there were all different shapes and sizes there!! The biggest thing is it is a LONG day...haha. It is from I think 9-6...lol...I cannot even remember now :). But about 6 hours…
  • Usually mine is the 2nd day...I will say, this is the first time I have really worked out hardcore during my TOM and it went away a heck of a lot quicker!
  • I am interested...just need to see if my husband can get the DVDs for me :)
  • I would say no...I drink unsweet tea and do not count that towards my water intake. The only thing I will count towards my water intake (other then actual WATER) is the crystal light type water add-ons that you put in water.
  • Thank you Carrie! I need to look tonight at the chart and see how long it sustained the 191. Like you said, it could just be it hit it real quick then dropped back down. I just checked the readout on the devise itself not the computer.
  • Oh I was going that is for sure :). But I didn't feel like I was really strugging so maybe that is the difference?
  • Ugh the room we were in was CRAZY hot so that could have done it too. Off the top of my head I am not sure how long it recorded the 191 reading. But I was sweating pretty good so that could have done it too. I just don't know what going over your max heart rate does, it might turn people away from Zumba if their instructor…
  • I like Holly Madison...she is curvy still and not stick thin.
  • 91 ounces for women 125 ounces for men
  • I think no...I think it is just getting too involved in someone's personal life. I do agree with others that the parents and children should be offered some kind of education on how to get healthy but I have found that until someone makes the decision to get healthy (whether adult or child), you cannot MAKE them. That…

  • You should not be stopping to change music during the class...I have taken a class under an instructor that does that and it really makes it hard to stay focused (even if you keep moving). I am a certified Zumba instructor (teaching my very first class TONIGHT!!!) and during our training we were told you never "stop the…
  • I am taking it now and I really like it. It does not make me jittery which is awesome!!! It has caffeine but really no more than a cup of coffee or soda. It really helps curb my snacking appetite (which at work is quite hard!). The energy it gives me with a workout is insane! I have never really been a sweater in the gym…
  • I am just now coming up with routines (my first class is Tuesday!!!). I have found YouTube to be a huge help!! There are so many different routines to the same songs, I will pick and choose between a few. Also the ideas to go to another instructors class is a great idea!! Or try to get a jam session going in your area.
  • YES it does work. I started it in January and really did not change anything additional...I mean, I count calories but I never really pigged out before. Zumba is really the only exercise I have done and I have lost 13 pounds since I started. But more importantly, I have lost size. I went from wearing a size 12 (almost a…
  • My favorites right now are Un Mes, Em Sus Marcas and Boom Boom Mama. One of my very favorites ever though is Waka Waka by Shakira...hehe. It is just fun.
  • It depends on the instructor...I know some instructors who ONLY use Spanish (or international) music. The actual Zumba "formula" is 70% Latin or international (what most would deem "Zumba music" and then 30% instructor choice, which can be anything from hip-hop to pop to country or whatever you choose.
  • I would say yes because your heartrate is higher. That said, when it is really hot out and you are exercising your body temperature is also rising and THAT is what is dangerous. You could have a heat stroke even if you are hydrating yourself. I am on a military base and they have different "flags" indicative by the heat…
  • I totally agree with this...we live in MS (at least until September) and I do think I have seen more overweight people here then I did growing up in CA and MT. I think it has a lot to do with the "fried food" mentality a lot of people here have. They will fry just about anything you can name down here in the South.
  • Where in MS? I live here too and just think to the Subway I go too and wonder if it is the same one...lol
  • Here are a couple articles I found. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/10_metabolism_foods.htm http://www.metabolism-boosting-foods.com/
  • This is what I was going to say, are you able to go to a live class??? I am not sure I would like having the lights out though...lol.
