While I agree that strength training and building/maintaining muscle can be extremely valuable in transforming your body, I have to politely disagree with the sentiment that knowing how much (or how little) you are burning is useless. People tend to overestimate how much they burn, one hundred percent agreed. But realizing…

Hopefully someone more educated on fitness than me will chime in, but to start, if you have no equipment at all, I would suggest doing body weight exercises, such as push ups, planks, lunges, squats, tricep dips, etc- you can look up body weight exercises online to get more ideas. If you're willing to spend money on just…

You look amazing, and kudos on finding a healthy way to achieve your goal :) you are an inspiration!

Good for you!!!! I think that a huge part of staying young is always being a child at heart :)

Deadlifts suck, front squats suck, Soreness is such a pain... But, oh, how, can you stop, When you just want to lift again? Oh, skating's fun, Walking's, fun, Swimming all the way! But dear lord, Please don't make, Me run this gosh darn day! Hey! Painful yells, My BO smells, My husband's hit the hay While I just lift, And…

I have mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, with a meal service, you aren't really changing your every day habits- what happens when you get off the program?I personally wouldn't do it, because it's not something that I can sustain (cooking dinner in the evening is one of my favorite stress reliefs!) On the other hand,…

You look absolutely fantastic!

I work out at home as well, so it's not impossible, but it does take a little investment. I was just more apt to invest in building up a home gym than buy a membership, since the area I live in doesn't have a gym that really appeals to me for the money they charge.

I gotcha. I hope I one day get to the point where I'm taking increases in strength as a check in the box, and moving on to the next goal. I would rather be Zorro than the Hulk eventually ;)

Ok, awesome. I am a total newb, and have been really excited about the fact that in a couple months, I've gone from not being able to do a single good form pushup to 15. So in that case it's still an increase in strength, but once I'm less of a wimp it will be less of an indicator, correct?

I just saw what misstrish95 posted, BEAUTIFUL! I love that point about kindness towards others, but also towards yourself.

Everything in this post is great. Kids can be so incredibly cruel. I'm so sorry your daughter had to experience that. Building self esteem through things she is good at is one thing that can be incredibly powerful, knowing that she has a supportive mother (which you obviously are, from your post), is one of the best things…

First of all, forget anything that charges you money for a program. If you want to lose weight, and have that weight loss stick, it needs to be a lifestyle change, not a fad diet. Before I add anything else, can I ask where you got the number of 1450?

Actually, for how much I wanted this to be a light hearted silly discussion, this is actually a very thoughtful, concise, and smart answer to my dumb question :) Thanks for that! Like I said, still waiting for my other weights till after xmas to get accurate results on my 1rms. Question- what you the number of pushups you…

This. I didn't intend this to be too serious of a question. What makes you feel LIKE THE HULK!?!?!

Hey! I'm almost your exact same stats right now- 5'4.5, around 131, goal weight of 124, mostly focused on having less body fat and more/strong muscles. I'm down from 142 in the last 1.5 months. I am continuing to see big changes in my body through walking, on average 13K steps a day (similar to the fact that you are using…

Love this response- was hoping to get some fun ones! :) My fun one- I do love it when my husband, who has always known me as a weakling, asks me to help him with moving a bulky piece of furniture (we just moved) and I lift my side of that same piece of furniture that I had been grunting and whining about moving 3 months…

Some ideas that work for me- Food: -Make a big pot of soup and freeze in small containers, so on the days you don't have time to plan, you can grab one for lunch. I love beef barley, chicken soup (I usually skip the noodles and load it with veggies), butternut squash, etc. - For work treats, I usually skip them, and if I…

I truly can't wait to have the rest of the weights I need to track this! What is your favorite move to see higher weight on?
-
Congratulations!!! Loose fitting jeans are always the most exciting NSV for me personally :)
-
Congrats!!! :)

That's awesome, you look fantastic! What a difference :)

I'll be honest, I saw your "before" before I started reading, and thought, "she looks amazing!"... and then I read, and scrolled down, and was even more impressed. You looked fantastic before you lost the weight, but now you can really see the toned muscles. If I sae you at the gym, I'd ask you to train me too :)

Usually 2- I am rarely hungry before 4pm, and if I am, a 300 calorie meal is more than enough for me. I LOVE a big dinner. I have tried doing small meals throughout the day, but have found that forcing myself to eat earlier in the day ad doing small meals just leads to me starving all day long, and feeling so disappointed…

I'm terrible at linking things, maybe someone can help me- look up "In Place of a Roadmap", and figure out your TDEE (total daily expenditure), to make sure you are eating enough to support your goals. I'm guessing, since you say that you don't want to be bony, that you would like to maintain lean body mass (muscle) along…

Very flattering dress, and you look amazing in it! Go strut your stuff, pretty lady :)

I agree that it's probably negligible in calories as far as adding it in. Now, if I was to try to carry my 65lb snuggle-hating labradoodle, I could probably lose a few pounds immediately through all the skin he would scratch off me haha!

Maybe if you do the enema, followed by the squats and deadlifts, and drink ALL the water, it will get better!?!?!

Holy heck woman! I've been putting off today's workout feeling a little drained, but that gave me a kick in the butt. You look fantastic!!!
