  • After looking at your profile and diary, I think your parents should be worried...
  • Fat, when speaking on appearance is negative. Someone who is fat has a HIGH percentage of body fat. If someone has a normal body fat percent then they are not fat because they do not have a high amount of body fat percent. I see it mostly used to body shame here. For the record I have actually been diagnosed as normal…
  • So a healthy body fat percent is considered skinny fat? Seriously? Wow, how does that even make sense? Yes the phrase is over used! Skinny fay would be having a normal weight but are OBESE because of an OBESE body fat percent.
  • I would be carefull with this. Depending on how active the skinny person is, they might be able to take in more calories, but not gain. My lunch yesterday was over 1200 calories and my husbands was close to 2000 (he has never been fat). I would not recomend someone follow my diet unless their tdee and activity level were…
  • I would be starving on your diet! Do really have an apple OR yogurt for LUNCH and that's it? I just meet my macro and micro goals and I eat enough colories per day to fuel body while losing. I don't really diet so I can eat any food that helps get me to my goals.
  • I add in small amounts of calorie dense foods throughout the day (coconut oil, olive oil, peanut butter, alvacodo, cheese). These add up quickly, but you won't be adding much volume. Or I just eat ice cream!
  • Your friend was obviously NOT eating at a deficit... it was not because of a particular food.
  • I have gotten my period every month since I was 14... it doesn't just sneak up on me each month. I know how it effects me, but it is my responsibility to control my food intake. It seems to me that women use TOM as an excuse. If you cant't control yourself you are doing the sabbotage.
  • If you chose the right activity level, you should be fine. At least give it a try. I am 5'6" 140lbs and I lose weight on 2500 to 2750 calories, but I am VERY active.
  • So because the food came from McDonalds it doesn't have fat, carbs or protien? I am wondering where you get that the food would be empty calories. They have a website that offers nutritional information, it is not that hard to see that saying McDonalds is empty calories is completely ridiculous.
  • I avoid foods that I am allergic/intolerant to or food I just don't like. I don't label foods as good or bad. It is just food. I eat an overall healthy diet, I meet my nutritional goals and I don't over eat.
  • I lift weights. It is my least favorite part of my workout routine. I lift because it if effective. My main goal is increasing strength for my job and I have seen a big difference with lifting. I love hiking, boxing and yoga. These are some of the things that I actually enjoy doing. I think the most important thing is to…
  • QFT! There is a middle ground between eating no sugar and eating endless amounts. Let's be real here... Personally I eat an overall nutritious diet which includes all kinds of foods, even sugar (but I know how to moderate).
  • It is a ridiculous fad that many will fall for. If you do lose weight it will be because you are eating at a deficit and you can do that with any foods. Just make sure to get proper nutrition for your body and eat at a deficit. I am trying to prevent the loss of LBM, so I wouldn't go near this diet.
  • I don't even have a food scale...
  • My husband eats 1000 cals more than me daily... I still have my snacks and he has his. We are grown ups and we are each responsible for ourselves. I don't get the whole jealousy thing.
  • I love your attitude!!! It sounds like you are on your right path!
  • This is pretty much what I did (still do). It works for me! I work with with a guy who is really into paleo (which is fine btw), so I have gotten my share of advice recently. You have to know your body and find something that is sustainable for you. Take all the information you receive, use what you need to and ignore the…
  • I can go to 3 different stores and fit 3 different sizes so it is hard for me to pick my "ideal" size. My size right now is size 6 thru 10 depending on the brand (US sizes). Size 10's tend to be a tad loose, but work great for work pants. I would like to lose another inch in my waist and hips, but I am happy with my size…
  • No you don't have to eat "clean" to lose weight...
  • People become obese because they eat at a surplus... my snacks are usually 500 calories and my diet is balanced. I have 3000 calories to work with so I think I can overcome a high calorie snack here and there.
  • Why are you netting so low to begin with? 1300 net sounds low for a dude.
  • People do need to take responsibility for their pets! My mom and her pomeranian were attacked by a rotty on one of their walks a few months ago. Luckily some of the neighbors ran out to assist in pulling the dog away. Both of them were injured pretty badly but they are ok now. The rotty was put to sleep. This attack…

  • Meal timing is irrelevant... I eat breakfast around 6am. I adopted eating breakfast when I decided to lose weight. I had never been a breakfast eater. I have more energy throughout the day and I make healthier choices for the rest of the day. Other people may have different experiences. Do what works best for you to help…
  • I thought I knew everything when I was 18 too... a balanced nutritious diet works best for me and no matter who you are if you eat at surplus you will gain. I am glad you have found what works for you. As you mature you will realise it isn't a one size fits all when it comes to diet. I would never eat high carb low fat…
  • Nope! I don't understand why anyone would even think that... I am here to log exercise and use the forums. Do you support everyone no matter what? I most certainly do not.
  • Depends on the individuals income...
  • I have never had a Quest bar, they are not worth the price for me. I can meet my protein goals with less expensive options. Plus, when I want something sweet I make homemade baked goods.
  • Sexism has a definition and what the op is talking about ain't it...
  • What the op is talking about is not sexism...
