Slip on shoes (sneakers, sandals), sweats (wear them to and home no need for additional clothes you aren't dressed long in the morning, tooth brush, toothpaste, hair tie or clip, Burt's bees/Chapstick, phone and someone to pass you stuff and who will make you get up and move. Day 1 isn't great but it gets better every day,…

I'm a Sytrax Nectar fan. You can mix in water, juice or milk depending on flavor you pick. On eBay I found has a seller that sells the individual sample packets. Once I found ones I liked they come in 2 and 5 lbs options (depending on flavor). Start every workday with milk based shake, ends up about 34-36 proteins. Unjury…

I work in healthcare so it's funny some of the responses. You have people who aren't sure if it's you or not and then what is really different, if I don't want to share with them I simple say oh I colored my hair and move on, lol. Or with HIPPA rules some are afraid to comment or ask? And then you get 1 or 2 that tell you…

May 1st challenge CW: 245.5 GW: 235 Hopefully as the weather starts to warm up getting in exercise will be easier. I have never been a fan of exercise or sports so that has been my biggest challenge on this journey. I work a lot and on free time catch up on the rest of my life. I need to try to find a way to stay focused…

Hi, I was sleeved 10/30/13 I have lost 44 since surgery, 21 lbs prior to surgery. I'm never sorry I did it, feel great. Wish the weight was coming off faster but my work schedule limits my exercise and I think that is most of the issue. You will do fabulous with your sleeve you are already so determined. Gerri

Ronnie, I know you mentioned that you like to avoid supplements but I found one that isn't bad. It's from a company called It Works. They have a product called "Greens". It is a powder that you add to water and equates to your fruit and vegetable intake for the day. It has a citrus or berry flavor and doesn't taste bad. I…

I use Avocado instead of mayo in my chicken and tuna salad. It makes it creamy, I also use the 100 calorie snack packs of guacamole in the chicken and tuna for an interesting kick I haven't tried the parmesan crisps yet but think I will the weekend. I have made the cauliflower breadsticks, and they are delicous all by…

They make a liquid Tylenol, in adult form. Or call doctor for prescription liquid Tylenol

The pain is normal, it's gas pain. Intra-abdominal air from the laproscopic surgery gets trapped and refers pain to the shoulder area. Walk, walk, walk and walk a little more, lol. It's annoying but goes away it's just trapped and the more you move the quicker it moves. Even if it's short distances ever bit helps.

I have the fitbit one. Wore my last one faithfully but then it got washed don't seem to be a faithful with the new one. Will need to work on our bonding, lol. I have a question regarding the exercise. I wear it to the gym so it is already calculating the treadmill steps but not so much the elliptical, so I entered that on…

Hi Derek, Congrats on your decision and welcome. I'm Gerri, I had a sleeve done on 10/30/13. I liked the Unjury chocolate and the Syntrax chocolate and cappuccino (ordered from Vitacost.com). Sample anything your center gives you to see what you like. Agreed that stopping fluids with meals is the hardest. Good luck on your…

Hi all, Glad to see so many of you met your goal. I didn't quite make mine but got close. I think I was a bit over zealous on how much I could lose in a short period of time. Nonetheless I am very happy with the downward progression of the scale and will be joining the March challenge with a more realistic goal, live and…

So excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait for that day to occur but still have a journey to go. so my 2 big goals for 2014 are to no longer be in the obese category and to see a number on my scale that doen't start with a "2" Gerri

I guess all the holiday rushing and running around is helping me. Working towards my goal. Been a little lacked on gym, it's been cold and something to do every night but shopping n shoveling must count for something, lol. Welcome Alex, never too late to join in. 3 months to go to surgery!! Nice belated present to…

That's what I was told would be the average in the first few months and then decrease from there. So I don't think I will make my NEw Year's goal but that's ok, I'm still moving in the right direction. Just will know better for next time that I shouldn't aim so high. I've been following the program and doing well but I…

My goal seems to be in jeopardy. I have 2 1/2 weeks left but 11.5 lbs to go. I am following the plan but really thought I would be losing the 5-7 lbs a week I was told the average person loses with a sleeve. Don't get me wrong I'm happy and proud of the loss, it's the first holiday season in my life that I didn't gain…

Ann congrats on reaching your goal!! SW: 279.5 CW: 269.5 GW: 255 I'm working on my goal!! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Gerri

how do you sync with mfp? I would love to just track in one place. I too wore the fitbit in the wrist strap for a while but saw no real benefit as you have to actual push the button when you are going to sleep and then again when you get up, I would inadvertently forget one or the other and the sleep track would be wrong.…

Hi Debby, I also have a fitbit. Chose the clip one too and wear it on my bra. I love it. It's now part of getting dressed in the morning. My friend at work has the wrist one and she said sometimes it just doesn't match what she is wearing and that alot of people ask her what it is. It makes her uncomfortable explaining it…

It's the greatest thing I've ever done for myself. I was sleeved 10/30/13 and feel wonderful. First day/ night is hard some pain and nausea but so worth it. I've lost 16 lbs in 2 weeks n total of 37. There is plenty of support on mfp. Good luck, best wishes for little pain and nausea. Welcome to your new life! Gerri
