  • It's working just fine for me. The Protein is dictated by what your goals are. For me I do alot of heavy lifting so I try to get .8 - 1 gram per pound of body weight. Once you have that number set the Fat and Carbs fall into order. If you are only concerned with losing weight and not body composition then your protein…
  • I used to pony up for Shakeology but recently have switched to IdealShape shakes. Which I get at a quarter of the price of Shakeology. It doesn't have all the exotic ingredients but it has a ton of the essentials. The Vanilla and the Chocolate are delicious too. Where I used to have to blend Shakeology with stuff like PB2…
  • It's pretty good. Taste alot like the Berry Bomb. Just don't ever buy the Mojito... good Lord that stuff is gross. Trying so hard to finish it off so I can go back to Berry Bomb :s
  • I just started Krav this week. Plan on doing 2-3 classes a week. I am basically subbing Krav as my cardio and will just do weight training on my non Krav days. At least that is the plan as of now... how long my body can hold up on that schedule remains to be seen. :s
  • I've done many of the BeachBody programs and so far the only injury I've sustained is I tweaked my Achilles when I first started T25. Alpha Cardio has a segment of switch kicks and I was trying really hard to do them high like Shaun T and I felt a pop and then searing pain and heat. Spent two weeks hobbling around as it…
  • What he's saying is he enjoys martial arts based cardio workouts and was looking for suggestions on others.... I also enjoy martial arts based workouts as cardio. I don't believe anyone here alluded or even suggested doing a MA based video makes you a martial artist. But working up a sweat doing punch and kicks is more fun…
  • Of the ones you listed I've only done Tapout and I loved the program. Just the trainer drove me crazy...he just never shuts up lol. But having Miesha Tate in some of the vids was nice. :) I especially enjoyed the Muay Thai video in Tapout. There is a Kenpo video in the original P90X that I do often and love. P90X3 has MMX…
  • I just signed up for Krav. Have never done a martial art before. Prior to this only CQC training in the Army and that was so long ago I don't even remember any of it. My first Krav lesson is next Thursday. Kinda nervous but it's a private lesson to start so that should make it easier. I plan on using Krav as my primary…
  • Whichever one will keep you going. I'm the opposite. I find I am far more likely to do home workouts then go to the gym. So I've invested alot of money in programs and weights. If you feel like Insanity is boring and you can't stick with it then sounds to me like the gym is the better way to go. :)
  • I've used C4 for 2 years now and it's worked well for me. I workout after work and it gives me enough of a wake up buzz to get me going, but not so much that it keeps me awake later. Whatever you do though... don't order the Mojito. It's cheap as hell on Amazon for a reason... it's nasty.
  • If you are alotted breaks utilize them as walking time. I get an hour lunch so I use 45 mins of it to walk and then come back and use the other 15 to eat. Also when I go to the restroom I'll go to the furthest one or even go to one that is a few floors up and take the stairs. I also make it a habit to not sit for more then…
  • Fruit Punch and Berry Bomb are the best IMHO. The Mojito is nasty. :s
  • Interesting. Willing to share the details?
  • I'm also using C4 at the moment. Got some of the Mojito flavored off Amazon really cheap. It's so gross... I can understand why they were selling it at half the price of the Berry Bomb. But I can manage.
  • I've invested alot of money in home workout equipment over the years so I have no need for the gym. I certainly don't have everything the gym provides but enough to accomplish what I want. It's ridiculous how expensive stuff like dumbbells are. On sale you can get them for about $1 a pound at places like Walmart or Dicks…
  • I'd take a quick look at my micros. If everything is in order then I'm going for a scoop of ice cream or my cadbury mini eggs. Those are my usual evening snacks. If I'm drastically short on a certain micro then I'll pick something to give me a boost there.
  • Typically my schedule is like this: Monday: Cardio (Insanity, T25, or P90X) Tuesday: Heavy Weights (Chest/Tris) Wednesday: Cardio (Insanity, T25, or P90X) Thursday: Heavy Weights (Back/Bis/Shoulders) Friday: Cardio (3-4 mile run) Saturday: Heavy Weights (Legs/Abs/Core) Sunday: Rest/Stretch/Softball League
  • I stretch before and after all my workouts. Sometimes if I am pressed for time I skip the after and then stretch before bed. I also will do a good 30+ mins of stretching on my off/rest days. I've read alot of the studies that show stretching is unnecessary but my body tells me otherwise.

  • Insanity is no joke. You should be proud any time you make it through a video. Best of luck! You got this!
  • When I start a new program I always do a zero week. Basically do the first week on the schedule but consider it a trial run. Familiarize yourself with the videos, get the initial awkwardness of learning the moves out of the way, and let your body get over some of the initial soreness. Then do the program for real. It's a…
  • Yea I am doing it on a deficit. I am using the program mostly to retain my current muscle mass and keep up my strength while I cut the pounds. I'm about 13-14 lbs away from my goal weight and then I will go through the program using the proper eating plan. I am doing a Body Beast/Insanity hybrid because I find the cardio…
  • I love martial art style videos. P9OX had Kenpo, P90X3 has MMX, Tapout has Muay Tai. I suck at them and I'm sure I look like a fool but I just love that it seems more like fun then cardio. I really can't stand any kind of steady state cardio so I mainly walk alot and do videos.
  • Love it but I try and limit myself to once a month or so. Nothing like a couple cold ones on a Saturday night after a long day of yardwork. My go to is Sam Adams Light but I also enjoy Landshark, Yuengling, and all the different flavors of Sam. One of the stores near me has a giant wall of singles and you can make a custom…
  • I'm not scrupulous about my micros or anything but it's like literally one extra tap on the app to see them. I just like to take a daily mental note of my intake when I complete my diary for the day just to make sure I'm getting a fairly balanced intake. I loathe most veggies and leafy greens so I have to be a little more…
  • Well that's good to hear. I've read alot about the benefits of Potassium and I perceived I was in quite a daily shortage based off MFP. Guess I won't stress it to much.
  • Congrats it's a great program! Did you order the Tempo to or just the base program? I've been doing it for about a month now and it's done wonders for my weight loss and inches. Do you have a wide range of dumbbells and a workout bench or stability ball?
  • I've done a bunch of the BeachBody programs so I will just give my thoughts on the ones I feel like are worth investing in. Insanity: Far and away my favorite. It's heavy on cardio but does hit body weight, core, plyometrics, and strength training. It's a brutal program and there is no modifier on screen like T25 has. You…
  • T25 is a step down from Insanity in intensity. Shorter videos with less difficulty. The Alpha phase is very lower body oriented, the beta phase starts mixing in some upper body and weights, and the Gamma phase is heavy on upper body and weights. But the Gamma is an extra add on cost. You may actually find the program too…
  • Body Beast or an Insanity/Body Beast hybrid You can get Beast really cheap right now and it's an excellent program.
