  • Congratulations on such a huge transformation! Your hard work and dedication has paid off. Thanks for sharing this with the rest of us, it's a great motivator :)
  • I agree with everyone else here 1.4 lbs is a good loss. Just about every magazine you see at the store promises crazy weight loss, like 23 lbs in 2 weeks. Those diets are also usually extremely restrictive, super low in calories and unrealistic for long term use. The other issue is that when weight comes off too quickly,…
  • That sounds like a great compromise :)
  • Annnnd finally...ahem. Yes I have completely vain motivators involved in my pursuit to get leaner, stronger and healthier. I want to look and feel sexy for once, and have the damn confidence to make people take notice. I'm working on my music business degree and knowing that the music industry is very male dominated, I…
  • This reason made me lol for real. Best motivation ever.
  • ^ sucks when you're the girl that never gets asked about too. I've spent most of my life surrounded by tall/skinny, or short/skinny friends and am sick of blending in because I'm awesome dammit LOL I want to be in better shape now than I ever was in my teens and I've got a bunch of motivation now. In closing...high five to…
  • Hooray! I really do think that this is a fantastic idea. Sometimes it helps to get the "blah" out and see that others are having a hard time too. We are all just human but sometimes it is difficult to remember that. I know that I personally am ridiculously hard on myself and I'm sure that others are too!! Yesterday was a…
  • This isn't a very specific recipe, but I have found this particular combination to be extremely tasty by itself or as a topping/filler for a lot of different foods. You will need: Tri Color Baby bell peppers - sliced in rings Onion - cut in large chunks, fajita style Minced Garlic - to your taste preference Kale - a few…
  • I am also in the process of adopting a vegan based diet. So far so, good. I will add you as a buddy!
  • I just discovered PB2 at the health food store this weekend. Sounds like I may have to pick some of it up to give it a try. Has anyone tried the version with chocolate in it?
  • Great suggestion on turning greens into a tasty pesto! Provides a yummy topping and sneaks the greens in - woo hoo. I have been trying to add sauteed or steamed kale to as much as possible. It's been great in soups and I even tossed a little on top of my sweet potato tonight. Actually now that I write that, I remember that…
  • By the way, I found a great blog veganasiwanttobe.blogspot.com that has some awesome recipes that are simple to make too :) So far I've only tried her bread, but I have a list of "to try" because it all sounds amazing.
  • Oh that is perfect! I love potatoes and have all of the ingredients already in my kitchen :) I will definitely be trying these, thanks for the share Carla!
  • Hi Ladies! Thanks for all of the great recommendations. I will definitely be checking out the extra links & trying the recipes. I've been browsing the Engine 2 diet site - if you've not tried their french toast I recommend it, its great! I got creative last night and added kale to my nachos and they were awesome! I sauteed…
  • I agree that its much easier to let yourself have a "splurge" once in a while than to totally deny yourself all of the time. I splurged today and had two slices of pizza for lunch. It did a number on my calories, but really satisfied my craving. Had I tried to convince myself that tuna with a few crackers was satisfying, I…
  • Great work! Keep it up!

  • I like the Zumba Fitness game for Wii. Even if you don't get all of the moves right you will work up a sweat. They have different routines and workout calendars based on your level at the time. I love it, even if I look silly while doing it :D
  • Hi Tara, thanks for the welcome! I like the idea of your challenge, it will be a great way to jump start myself. I am going grocery shopping tomorrow for the week so I will plan accordingly to get the fruits and veggies in. So my week will start tomorrow :)
  • Hi Everyone, I decided to join this group because I lost the bulk of my weight while having a "Contest" with a couple friends where we weighed in weekly for 3 months. I've lost some of my focus since then and thought this would be a good way to get back on track. I was able to lose more when I started using MFP on my phone…
