I enjoyed reading "Why we get fat" for a good explanation of this. Ketosis is not the same as ketoacidosis. I'm also doing well on a low-ish carb diet, not Atkins-low, but ~75g of carbs a day/1800 calories. I am not intentionally going into ketosis, but I might be borderline.

I like my GF too, but find it just as easy to pop the chicken into the oven for 35 minutes. Comes out much better IMHO.

I've been caught by the "per serving" issue before, I bought the grapefruit slices at CostCo, assuming they would be pretty safe, but that little container containers *2* servings. Right, like I would save 1/2 for tomorrow.…

Same experience here, I agree it doesn't seem to matter what kind of cardio you do, but to do it as close to every day as you, and I think earlier in the day is better. Seems to raise my 'resting pulse' the rest of the day.

Ah, I can answer my own question, it's right there on the Exercise tab on the web site. On the right-hand-side there is a Calories column, and the 2nd row of that has the calories-burned so far this week, and the calorie goal for the week.

It's helped me to just change-up something in my routine to get off the plateau. I added 15 minutes of stretching, and that helped a lot, or maybe try adding a walk or a bike ride, or something different to your routine.

Maybe change something up in your exercise? Switching to a different exercise, or time of day. A while back, I found that just adding 15 minutes of strecthing before I start made a big difference.

Trying to find the humor in everything, I've been in the same boat, spending ~$12K on my two cats this year (one is doing great, the other didn't make it). I did charge all my vet bills on my Amazon card, so at least I've got a boat-load of Amazon points :-)

Hi, I am not following Atkins, at least not yet, but aim to reduce the amount of carbs in my diet more gradually. Currently about 100g per day. I've only been doing this about a week, lost 5 lbs. I had a scary day yesterday, though, light-headed and head-achy all day. So far, so good, this morning.

I'm just starting low carb this week too, after reading Living Low Carb.

Just started yesterday myself, I want to loose at least 60 lbs. More would be better, but one step at a time.
