A mat and dumbbells or resistance band - only a couple of the sessions require those as most are just you and Shaun T. I started with Insanity and use T25 as an easier day. It's not easy but just easier! I like the RipTCircuit, Lower and Upper Focus and Speed 2.0 the best. Speed 1.0 and Speed 2.0 are great fun.

Whilst I'm guilty of it, I am getting better at viewing exercise in terms of what's good for my body rather than the calories burnt doing it. Always been a cardio junkie and a major reason has been calorie burn - or at least a vaguely measurable calorie burn. Trying to incorporate more resistance training as that's…

In the UK we have a newish product "Sandwich Thins" - used to just be Warburtons but others have jumped on the bandwagon. They're 100 calories and a nice texture and flavour and ideal for making a (thin!) sandwich!! I guess I look at it that 2 slices of regular bread is about 160 calories give or take so there's a saving…

That works for me and the listing I use. I guess sometimes it's a 104 calorie nana and sometimes it's 106 but it all evens itself out ;-)

Ok so it's Monday again and I'm at work so caught up on this thread...makes me look forward to coming to the office! MY husband says I'm the only person who could fall out with someone on a DVD - I cannot stand Tonya/Tanya or whatever her name is from Insanity/T25. I beat her *kitten* at the fitness test and finally…

Ha ha - we could do with that in the food database!

Wow. So I'm going to be kind and give the OP the answer she wants. Log it at around 200 calories and eat all those suckers back. Then when you don't lose weight the answer is to eat more calories, just in case your body is in starvation mode. No need to say thanks :-)

I was once a committed runner who turned a tibial stress fracture into a full blown break during a marathon - not compound though! Crutches for 12 weeks, no driving, no weight bearing and then came back to running. First post-break marathon and it stressed the bone too much so eventually I stopped running as it was…

It sits fine with me. It's all relative and if the OP needs advice for 2lbs or 200lbs who are we (ok, you!) to say that's not legitimate?!
-
Thanks. Love the weenie :-)

My hot flashes were becoming too intense and too frequent, particularly affecting my sleep. Started taking Black Cohosh about 3 months ago and after a few weeks the intensity and frequency reduced significantly. Now I barely have any.

Good luck. I really tightened up my logging - set macros to 1g protein per lb bodyweight and similar for carbs. I was eating at TDEE minus % for ages and nothing. 2 weks at 12 cal/lb and 3lbs loss.

I'm not fussed about pasta but like the idea of veggies a bit differnt and bulking meals with them...might try the hand job first (!!) - so does the gdaget use the soft middle bit too??

http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/113609/relatively-light-people-trying-to-get-leaner#latest Some useful stuff here. I recently changed calories to 12 cal per lb bodyweight and finally the scale is shifting!

I like Nutrisport Chocolate Whey Isolate. Not tried many others because it can be an expensive trial and error. I never drink my food though :-) Favourite way is in a small bowl add a scoop of powder (30g), 60ml milk, mix with spoon and don't worry so much about any lumps (it mixes quite well). Microwave for 45-60secs and…

^^ Excellent 1st post - one of the best yet :-)

Ooh yes Marmite BabyBel - good call!

Jerky.

I thought about one but could see it being another kitchen "gadget" that gets lost in the "seldom used kitchen gadget draw"! I could really only see Courgette Noodles as a way for me to get more veg in. Interested to hear from long term owners as to whether they continue to use it. I wonder if I can just make short fat…

I read that and chuckled at the prospect of them being a log later... Confession - I only work 1 day a week which is Monday. That's not the confession BUT the fact I save this thread every week to catch up on whilst at work is!

I have my own "gym" as such. Treadmill, turbo, stairclimber (did I mention my cardio addiction?!) but also a bench and 4 sets of dumbbells with plates. No bar though but that could be invested in. Thanks - I'll check those out and think I looked at the 5x5 (Stronglifts?) before but as ever didn't commit!

With the help of Steve Stroutman I'm finally seeing the scales move. Have been 7lbs over my "fighting weight" for months but not able to lose an ounce. His recommendation was 10-12 calories per lb of bodyweight. Started at 12 and have lost 2.5lbs in 2 weeks. So that was 150 below what I was eating (not a big hardship at…

I hear what you say about P90X and feel it's a gentle introduction for me to more specific weight training. Having dumbbells in my hands for more than 10 minutes is unheard of! Current goal is a small amount of fat loss which I'm finally getting through a deficit with the help of Steve Troutman in his 1, 2, 3 questions…

Great ideas above and I'm the same and use many of these. Going to check out the last one though as sounds great :-) I enjoy sweet more than savoury and have just accepted that! Oh - another idea is to find a delicious chocolate protein bar and cut into bite sized pieces and put in the fridge or freezer.

Generally I think it's about exhaling on the effort...it could be argued that going down and up on press ups is all effort though! Let me do some and see... My rhythm is out on the way down and in on the way up!

I prefer mashed swede to mashed potato. Mashed carrot and swede is nice too and Aunt Bessie does a handy frozen version (prob just UK though)! Also mashed celeriac - PITA to peel and cut though!
-
I can't read all the shouty stuff but agree with the above. For fat loss focus on the calories and create a deficit that way. I think Insanity is a great programme for fitness and strength so look on it for those reasons and not to lose fat. Adding some weights work will help although there is a good bunch of body weight…

Found some on Ebay in the UK! My sister lives in the US and is home in March so going to ask her to bring me some :-)

Are the "Big Cup" close to the egg??!
-
Nope. Eat as normal - not long enough distance/time to warrant anything different.
