Use the Goals on the dashboard of your home page (MY Home). Use a computer if the app doesn't have it. Key in your information and it works it all out for you. 4lbs a week is probably unrealistic in some ways - only because it might set you up to fail. Put your exercise in as you do it each day and chose to eat it back or…

I've been eating around 1200 (1300 and now 1250) for 5 months, I have a lot to lose - that's an important piece of information. Its not been hard for me - I wasn't able to exercise because of a knee injury. I've started exercising and I can see that it makes you hungrier than I was. I put those cals back in in case I want…

Hi, on the knee injury, I have a similar injury done in Sept. 2013. I think its probably best not to walk/run/dance/jog on the thing. Gravity isn't kind. I have recently taken up swimming and I thought exercise biking without too heavy a resistance might be okay. Ask your doctor too.

I can relate to how you feel. I had an injury to my knee in Sept 2013 which was purely from being too heavy for too long. I decided I couldn't get away with over eating anymore. I've always struggled with my body size because I have always over eaten emotionally. Something went click in my brain and I made a decision to…

I only want to add that I am now exercising because I suddenly wanted to. I have been calorie restricting and losing successfully. The exercise is like I have found a joy I had lost or never had. But it does increase my appetite and I eat more if I am ravenous. Happily I love logging in to MFP and keeping track - I really…

Unless your bloating is a real medical issue - in which case you would see a doctor, don't take anything. Your body is a balanced thing why screw with it. The cranberry juice sounds like a non harmful thing but hey - drink more water. I'm in my 50s and don't have any issues with bloating. My ankles swell on very long…

I listen to some motivational weight-loss tapes from Jon Gabriel. I know that finding the motivation is hard. These 21 meditations talk about how we think and how we can let go of the weight. I found them excellent and listen to them over and over. You don't have to specifically buy his stuff but you might find it useful…

You should be able to lose weight eating 1600 cals based on your exercise. Read this: http://www.acaloriecounter.com/blog/why-am-i-not-losing-weight/

I agree with the person above . No one can do this for you. Our minds will come up with a million reasons as to why this isn't working. I have been eating 1200-1400 a day for 6 months and haven't been feeling particularly hungry a lot of the time. I just eat when I'm supposed to, vary my diet. I have been able to start…

Go to message boards, down the bottom group forums and you'll find it.

There was a fellow yesterday not eating enough, he said he was eating 400 cals. This website guides you through recommended calories. Go to your goals on your dashboard and check it out. Your trainer would know what you need. Why are you asking a bunch of complete strangers? Are you hoping someone will condone extreme low…

Hi, I'm from Tasmania. Hope everything goes well with your journey. Glad chemo so far hasn't been to bad Gael.

I shouldn't bother but, at least your BMI seems right for weight loss. The beard might make you look much older. 400 calories a day is ludicrous. Do you want to die? eat more you're a man you can eat MUCH MORE and still lose heaps of weight.

Honestly, have the surgery. Its minor these days. I had it as day surgery. They do it laproscopically. Don't risk complications, it doesn't 'get better' or go away. Like I mentioned earlier in a post, I still create stones in my liver duct - not everyone does this only the "lucky" few. But I still have never regretted the…

I had my gall bladder removed several years ago. It was similar to what has been mentioned. I lost weight gained it back etc. My luck didn't change there. I still create stones I just do it in my liver ducts now. I have had this twice since surgery. I am doing the best I can be eating well, not losing weight too rapidly. I…

The reason you may feel everyone is 'jumping down your throat" is that a lot of people here have very real concerns for peoples health and well being. They only speak out of concern and the fact that this question is asked at least once a week (if not more) usually by young women. Search the topic in the forums you will…

I have been eating around this amount for 19 weeks. I can't exercise because of an injury, I am 54 years old. If you are young you can eat more. I have no desire to binge. You probably need to raise your calorie amount if you are exercising - perhaps your body is asking for more. Be clear about your goals, whats the hurry?…

Christmas has always been a huge trigger for me. It brings up childhood, family, siblings etc. etc. This year I didn't over eat and that's the first time in many years. Pulling up out of a binge is hard but you know you can do it, cause you have done it before. Try just eating 3 meals a day and nothing in between and eat…

Well done!

:flowerforyou: You look a bit younger. Very attractive in both photos though.
-
I can only suggest that you weigh and measure everything. I often lose around that amount that's seems okay to me.

Everyone so far has mentioned lots of information. An overly restrictive diet can start binge eating. I've had this problem on and off throughout my life. For me it can be an emotional response to just about anything. I no longer feel out of control with my food but still can lapse into over eating every day if I choose…

I'm eating 1300 cals a day and occasionally am slightly under. Like you've mentioned some days I feel full. Other days I don't. I think in the long run low cals are harder to sustain - people who have succeeded on here talk about things in the long term. I'm on this amount because I have an injury and can't exercise at the…

Its all been said here. I try and stay away from highly refined carbohydrates because they are empty calories. It was useful for me to stop eating them totally for a lengthy amount of time just to feel in control again. I now have the odd bit of rubbish food but seem to genuinely prefer healthy, nutritious foods.

:flowerforyou: I want to be you.

I eat what MFP tells me. I'm sedentary because of a knee injury. I lose weight every week. It all adds up. One of my friends wasn't eating back her exercise calories at all and hit a wall, she ate a bit more and started losing. These are facts.
-
Of course you'll lose weight. Think about healthy eating as something to work towards. Mainly because its good for you and when you are older it will matter more. ie. I have poor bone density because I didn't consider nutrition through my life. Having said that don't put yourself under too much pressure to be perfect,…

I admire your spunk. You've had a rough trot - your ex sounds like the douche bag from hell - what an *kitten* hole (*kitten* in american). Anyway, I've come back from hell myself - about 23 years ago and can reassure you it does get better! :flowerforyou:
