OMG. Wow. I have no other words.

I swam my first mile, nonstop, in about 30 minutes (straight freestyle). I don't recommend setting a definite time to finish by. Instead, just try to swim a mile in less time than you did before, even if it's just a minute sooner. Have you tried strengthening your core muscles? That might help your back problem. As far as…

I did nothing today.

Oh ok. I don't know anything about that site other than the calculator. Sorry, I'm not much help on that one.
-
Yeah, the "masters" in Masters Swimmers is a bit misleading. They don't mean "master" swimmers, as in people who have mastered swimming. They mean "little" swimmers. At least that's what I read on their website.

I didn't swim yesterday but because I didn't try. The pool was closed due to storms. I did swim today though. I didn't swim enough to call it a workout. There's only so much one can do in a backyard swimming pool on the 4th of July.

Challenges?

The problem with MFPs calorie tracker for calories burned during an exercise is that it doesn't take into account a persons weight and it's way too general when taking into account the amount of effort used during exercises. One person's sprint may be someone else's light swim. Swimmingcalculator.com is better at…

I have! In fact, tonight's swim practice was canceled due to lightning but since we were all already at the pool, we decided to throw a party at the coach's house. I got to show everyone my before pictures and they were all very supportive and congratulatory. In a way, your accomplishments become shared accomplishments…

In fact, if you're trying to lose weight, Premier protein drinks are ideal for weight loss.
-
I drink a Premier protein drink when I get home from swimming. They're low in fat and sugar and in high protein (30 grams). You can get them at Sam's, Costco, and some Walmarts.

My prediction is it will be empty.
-
No, I haven't. But will do.

Yay! We need more flyers! Congratulations! Fly ain't easy.

I swam with a triathlon group today for about an hour and 15 minutes. Did a lot of drills with fins and a pull buoy.
-
I have a Garmin Swim Watch. I've had it for about 3 months and I'm still learning how to use it.
-
I love your ticker!

I ordered a 12. I'm also 5'0" but have no idea what I wear in a dress size. I went by the size chart - a size 12 for a 38 bust. It just seemed odd to me because my current bathing suit is a 40. It still fits (albeit, it's starting to get a little saggy around the bottom and a little loose around the top).
-
Just found this suit on Amazon and it sounds perfect! I just hate buying clothes online. I'm short with a big bust and it's hard to find bathing suits that fit on top but don't hang from the bottom.
-
Can championship suits be worn in the pool?
-
The only problem I have with my bathing suit that is related to the pool is bleaching. I replaced my previous suit because it turned white (it was black). Even my blue hair color stands up to the chlorine better than my bathing suits. I just hang mine up to dry. Maybe that's my problem. Lol

You could bring some pennies with you and move one penny each time you finish a lap. You could also use the lane dividers to count by moving one whatchamacallit every time you finish a lap. Oh, what do you call those things??

You mean after you swim? It's called the after-burn effect - in order for the body to return back to its normal state after an intense workout, the body consumes more oxygen which in turn, increases the metabolism which is what makes you tired. It's more common in people who swim sprints than in people who swim distance.…

I generally exhale through my nose. But when sprinting, it's a whole other ball game. Increased exertion dictates how one needs to exhale and I find myself exhaling through both, my mouth and my nose, by the last half of a sprint - to the point that I dread that last flip turn.
-
I'm wondering how one manages to do that (if I'm understanding correctly) - raises their hips out of the water when they raise their arms out of the water. Unless you're really tall and your feet are on the bottom or you have really strong legs, that would make a good trick. I must be misunderstanding something.

I put the key on 10-ply cotton string about 4 inches long, tie the ends of the string (double knot) so it's like a keychain, and then tie it to my bathing suit strap with a slip knot. I'm tempted to get a combination lock though. There have been a couple times I thought I lost the key when I looked down and didn't see it.…

Personally, I would complain about not having flags overhead. All lap pools should have them.

I see. So in the end, I would have done a total of 50 flies, 50 backs, 50 breasts, and 250 frees (not including the 4 x 150s before the IM order). 25 fly free 25 back free 25 breast free 25 free free 25 fly free 25 back free 25 breast free 25 free free Thanks! Sheesh, that's a 1,000 yard warmup!

Got another weird one. "W/U: 150 Fr, 150 K, 150 Fr, 150 Pull, 8 x 50 (25 IM, 25 Fr) (:15RI)." How do you do a 25 IM?

I laugh at the 20 second rest interval. My RIs are more like 60 second.
