I would aim yourself to about 1700-1800 calories a day, and see how you feel. People will go back and forth about marcos, but at the end of the day, calories are calories. Eating more than your body burns will gain weight, eating less than your body burns will lose weight. You probably do need more calories than you think…

Im back giving this a try again after a long period of inactivity. Looking for new MFP buddies. Everyone can feel free to add me!

You can get cheap dvd players for like $20 now

The entire P90X3 program can be used with just resistance bands too. I think it's all about what you're looking for. What I've heard is that T25 is better for strictly weight loss, but P90X3 is better for all around fitness.

In Panama, it's the drivers. The Latin America driving stereotypes definitely apply here. People drive like maniacs. They make up their own rules, run red lights, make their own lanes, etc. It's somewhat funny, because it completely conflicts with the attitude of the rest of the culture. The culture here is very much a…

Online shopping. You can get most things in Panama that you can get in the US, but there's no mail system. So you have to go to a store and hope they have it, and for some harder to find items, that can be problematic. You can get things shipped from the US through shipping services, but that's costly and slow. So my wife…

Hey everyone, I'm Mike. I'm originally from Westchester, New York, but lived many years in Tampa, FL, until now residing in Panama City, Panama for the last three months. I live here with my wife, who is a duel Panamanian/US Citizen. I telecommute to a marketing job I have in the US. I'm slowly picking up Spanish, but…

The reason for it is to give you a big picture view of your weight loss. It can be tough for people when they don't see much change day to day, so it's meant to encourage them to keep on the path so they see real results. It's not meant to actually be predictive, but motivational.

As one of the few expats on this thread living in what's considered a "third-world" country, I'm in one of those places where food is significantly cheaper than in the United States. In Panama, all the local basics (meat, cold cuts, bread, pasta, produce, rice, etc) are significantly cheaper than in the US. My rule for…

I'm not often too happy to have my US residence be claimed in Florida, but this is one of those times.

Regardless of if you are born into it, or choose to get one as an adult, the US does not make you renounce your US citizenship. They may have before 1967, but after the ruling in Afroyim vs. Rusk, they cannot. The Constitution protects your citizenship once you receive it, and the government cannot make you give it up…

Before 1967, it may have been the case, but the Supreme Court ruling of Afroyim v. Rusk in 1967, US citizens cannot be forced to give up their citizenship. I am also not sure when the US government required you to give up your foreign citizenship to become a US citizen, but they don't do it now. You have to renounce your…

The US allows you to hold dual citizenship. The only way you can give up US citizenship is by formally renouncing it. I do not know if other countries will make you give up your citizenship to become their citizen, but the US will not make you.

Hello all, glad to join this thread. I am an American Expat currently living in Panama City, Panama. I moved here about 2 1/2 months ago with my wife, who is a dual Panamanian/American citizen. Really enjoy it. I've been eating healthier, and walking more, which has helped me shed a few pounds, but tomorrow we're kicking…

I'm a big fan of the less reps, more weight philosophy. Regardless, not everything works the same for everybody. The key is to find something you can enjoy at least somewhat and stick with. As others have said, the most important thing is to make sure you're pushing yourself as hard as you can. So if you want to do 15…

Now that I'm living overseas, I find myself having a strong affinity towards Captain America.

Even though sometimes I feel like a 40 year old at heart, I definitely qualify as a 20 something. Anyone can feel free to add me as well.

I'm 10 pounds into a 40-50 pound loss. Happy to support other's, regardless of what their goals are. Feel free to add me!

If I can guarantee you one thing, it's that you won't weigh whatever it tells you in 5 weeks. You may weigh more or less. But the purpose of that figure isn't to make an exact prediction, but instead to give you an idea of how continued progress will pay off in real loss if you stick with it. It's not a magic eight ball…

I send friend requests frequently to people who are looking for new friends and support. It's a lot easier to do this when you have people helping you, even if they're strangers. I end up sending friend requests mostly to women, because they seem to make up the vast majority of users, especially on the introduction board.…

You're teaching free classes on how to be a *kitten* and giant man-child on the internet? Pleaaassseee tell me more.

Pretty sure he just wants young women to cyber harass. I'm sure if I signed up for help it would get ignored. This guy is trolling hard on other threads.

For a serious answer to your thread without getting derailed by the troll, I'd recommend slow deep breaths and counting to ten. Anything you can do to bring your heart rate down will help. Usually, when thought about with a calm and clear mind, most things won't seem as big a deal as they first do when you're angry.

You sound like just roses and peaches to be around.

Congrats on finally making it! Week 5, Day 3 is always the hardest day for anyone to get over. It took me a couple of tries. If you get stuck at any of the other steps, I would keep trying the individual day until you get over it, and move on from there. Congrats again!

Thanks for the encouragement! I definitely have time in my life to get it together health wise. But I'm running out of time quickly to get into wedding shape. two months and one week!
