Hey this seems right... It basically means you burned all your calories the body usually burns by resting (for me that's usually 2200ish (and I'm 5'5 160) THEN you earned an additional 1000+ calories from working out. If you did take 23000 steps then yes, this seems perfectly right. I've had days where I run and go for a…

Beans also have iron. Cook a big pot of black beans and kale, spinach, and other veggies. Spice it like taco meat and it will be so delicious!

I really like trader joes' soyrizo. It's the same spices, has a nice consistency and is not greasy or heavy.

If you're okay eating things multiple times throughout a week: -stews/soups -casserole... like a baked pasta dish with a bunch of veggies and turkey/chicken sausage can last 3 meals for two people each -currys and lentil dishes are cheap and can last a while -cook a whole chicken (upfront is pricey but freeze the meat and…

Can we be friends!! Ah I keep relapsing too. I don't know why, but it doesn't seem to stick. I am committed to sticking to my lifestyle from here on out.

I think you can take it as an opportunity to eat healthier foods more often. You need a lot more veggies to make up for the calories you would have been eating in meat.. and that helps you get more nutrients! Also, maybe switching to a more plant-based diet would mean that you need to be more methodical about meal…

I totally want to join you!! I am 27. I have been struggling to lose weight for a while. I am around 165... hoping to get down to 135 by the end of all of this. I am really committed to changing my eating habits and exercise routines.

BIG salad with fruit (apple or pear), spinach, and goat cheese. So yummy and low cal. Just toss with balsamic and some fresh ground pepper.

One thing that helped me build stamina was to walk for a while, then run as much as I could (around a mile) and then walk another full mile afterward. It helps! and eventually you can take on more and more running.

Yes exactly. Roast them whole on parchment paper to avoid sticking!

I agree on the discussion above! No idea how to make a quote like others have done. But clean eating to me means eating food in as close to its natural state as I can handle. No added chemicals, just the goodness of the food and nothing else. I am really trying to focus on local and fresh foods in my diet. I am blessed to…

When I make salsa, I will take fresh tomatoes and roast them in the oven (300 degrees for 20ish mins) and that will give them the softness and a LOT of flavor. It might be worth a try to stand in for the canned items.

Yes they are at whole foods or food co-ops typically.

I eat a lot of the applegate products (bacon, sausage, sliced deli meat) so I'm glad they aren't as bad as I secretly feared! I also love Nancy's cream cheese, although I'm planning to cut that out in the long run because it's pretty empty in the calorie department. I LOVE the california olive ranch EVOO!! my favorite and…

This was really interesting. Things I should have known: -deli sliced meats are processed! -tofu is processed! So what are people's thoughts on tofu? I've heard that it can be unhealthy to eat a lot of tofu because it is processed and soy isn't the best choice, but then I know a lot of very health-minded vegans that eat…
