Thanks for those posts. I had just been putting my garmin active calories in as aerobic exercise - now it has been updated to a customised vivofit adjustment. I am also using my mfp base line calories subtracted from my daily garmin connect total to give me a more accurate (from a mfp view) exercise total. Although I am…

Hi Jen, welcome. fyoung thank for the heads up about the calories error - I had some 'off' readings that confused me as well. My biggest concern atm is the huge difference in step count when using the hrm - this is the worst example of what I have logged - Walked to point x with no hrm 2800 steps (did this 4 times with…

No takers on starting a vivofit group?
-
Great milestone! Keep up the good work.

I have had a vivofit for 2 weeks and love it. I have read many articles about minor problems with them but have found that if you look carefully and take the time to learn about the unit most of the problems are user orientated. There is a Fitbit group on MFP - is there anyone who would be interested in starting a Vivofit…

There is a thing called water intoxication - the following insert is from a wiki (I know they are not 100% but I just grabbed it for a demo). This is very rare (but the wiki did document it to a dozen 'too much water' deaths) At the onset of this condition, fluid outside the cells has an excessively low amount of solutes…

Start weight 72.3 Current weight 67.9 Loss this week 0 *sigh* just one of those weeks i suppose - my diet was good, my exercise the best yet. Hmmm maybe I have been building up some muscle - i can actually see them in my arms, perhaps they are growing under the layer of padding I am trying to shed as well lol.

Do you use scales to weigh the food or guesstimate?
-
I use Equal (when really necessary) the tablets dissolves easily and the powder can be used in the same quantities as sugar (1 tspoon = 1 tspoon), it can also be used in baking (a lot of others cant). I have tried most all of the others over the years I always come back to Equal

I thought about adding that - but it seemed to be going overboard a bit

Hubby and I spent Christmas, my birthday and New Years alone (hubby to sick to travel) as a result I had the cleanest eating holiday period ever and managed to lose 800g - so a nice silver lining

Congratulations, well done. Thank you for writing this inspiring story and motivating those of us still on the long journey.

In previous 'diets' I ALWAYS ate under 1200 and exercised heaps without eating back a single calorie - I was probably netting between 400 to 900 a day. I found it hard and did not enjoy it at all - BUT I did lose weight (usually around 800g/1lb a week after the first 2/3 weeks when my body got used to it). This time with…

Just as a side note the Australian Koala rarely drinks water at all. They get what they require from a steady diet of gum leaves. They are a mammal (marsupial mammal) like us, they are hydrated like us - but they dont drink (usually).

Thank you, these stories help so much - every single one of them. You look great now - the end result is going to be eye popping :)
