I'd been feeling a little disheartened lately because the number on my scale wasn't going down either. In about a week and a half (when I started a new fitness regime) I lost about 10 pounds, and then for the next 3 weeks I hadn't lost any! Instead of just weighing myself yesterday, my trainer did my body composition…

In terms of food, I don't give myself a whole day off per say, but I do allow myself one planned cheat meal a week (so on that day there is a chance I do go over on calories). I've read that this can be good for your metabolism (as well as psychologically beneficial). There are, of course, a couple stipulations. I've been…

I would tell myself : "You're going to regret all of those perogies, grilled cheese sandwiches and kraft dinner meals later on...quit while you're ahead! And - stop competing with other people! Just focus on being YOUR best self! That's more than good enough!"

LOVE it! Hahahah - Too funny!

I'm going to do an hour of strength training and and hour of cardio at the gym! Then I have to stay in tonight and get lots of reading done for my project...and NOT snack all night (and late at night) while I'm at it! That's what's been killing me lately. I stay within my calorie limit, but it's all late night snacking…

Lately I've been mushing up half an avocado in my tuna instead of light miracle whip. Avocado does have fat, of course, but it's healthy fat...so it's a much better choice than mayo and it tastes quite good!

I'm a grad student which means lots and lots of nights of researching and writing on my computer...accompanied by excessive snacking (because it's easier to stay up and write papers when you have something to munch on, lol!) Also, drinking just seems to be part of the grad student lifestyle! My friends and I started…

If you like fish, then that's an awesome way to get lean protein into your diet. There are lots of ways you can use canned tuna, which is cheap and full of protein (but usually high in sodium...). I also like to eat fat free cottage cheese (which a lot of people cannot tolerate, but luckily I can!), because it is quite…

The best bars I've ever had are called Daryl's Hi-N-R-G Bars. They're all natural and have lots of protein...I usually can only eat one because they're so filling and keep you full for a long time. Here's the url for their website: http://www.darylshinrg.com/ You can order them online or find them in some stores (mostly in…

I was having the same problem. My calorie intake is supposed to be 1200 but I've been exercising quite a bit every day. There is no way I could even eat all the calories I'm supposed to once you take in what I earn from exercise. I'm eating really healthy filling whole foods (like lots of veggies and lean protein and…

In response for your quest for a healthier pancake, here is something I posted in response to another post a couple of days ago: "Lately I've been making something I call protein pancakes and they're delicious and very filling! Just make 1/2 cup of oatmeal, and once that's made add about 1/2 cup of egg whites (and banana…

I know you said that you're not much of an oatmeal person, but if you try making pancakes out of it you might change your mind! Lately I've been making something I call protein pancakes and they're delicious and very filling! Just make 1/2 cup of oatmeal, and once that's made add about 1/2 cup of egg whites (and banana or…

I would say if you really need to eat late at night try to have veggies or something that's basically a freebie. When I want a snack, sometimes I have slices of cucumber dipped in salsa (ok, so cucumber is not quite as tasty as chips with salsa, but it has the same crunch and helps satisfy my snack cravings). Also, since…
