  • I think this is actually a great idea for me personally. So many times I've tried different diets or programs where you can't eat certain foods. I would drive myself silly seeing all these foods I enjoyed but "couldn't have" & would cave in eventually due to lack of self control. Once I'd cave once, I'd usually do it again…
  • Two things really got me to say enough is enough. I'm always achy and I feel like a bowl of Rice Krispies all the time. I snap crackle and pop all over and it's gross, and I'm tired of feeling like this. The real last straw was when I had to go clothes shopping again. This is something I dread because it's hard to look at…
  • I've got a few going on but they all stem from my mom being in the hospital. All I want to do is reach for the comfort food, and I do, and it's ruining my good 3 lb weightloss start. I'm trying to be good, but my exercise routines each day have been at a halt this week, and my food choices include everything they…
  • I'm in again this week. I'm going to switch it up a bit though. I've got exercising down pat for now. I've been taking 3 mile walks after work and still doing some workouts with my Biggest Loser for Wii. I need to refocus in regards to what I'm eating though. I've been staying under my calories, but I'm not making the best…
  • My obstacle is both ice cream and carbs. The carbs I've learned to control a little better by eating more fruits and veggies. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time kicking the ice cream. I've been switching to low fat, lite, or fat free types, but will still occasionally go right for the regular.
  • I'm in again. Since I've already done 105 minutes for this week, I'm going to up my workout minutes to a total of 300 or more. I'm going to keep doing my 50 minute workouts on the Biggest Loser Challenge for my Wii. I'm on a 12 week program which has me scheduled for every other day, three days a week. So I'll do the 50…
  • I exceeded my goal for this week. I planned to do 120 minutes of workout and I've more than doubled that! I did 268 minutes and I burned 1,445 calories. I'm so excited and proud of myself! I don't think I've really lost weight yet. My MFP says 3 lbs but I'm not sure if that's entirely accurate, or maybe I just can't…
  • Thanks so much everyone! I'm trying not to overthink these things. I just want to make sure I don't fall in a habit of going under the 1200 too often either. I'm just taking it step by step, and really want to lose the weight this time around. I think I'm finally learning how to do this properly which makes me feel a lot…
  • My fitness and food journals are also open for viewing. I keep reading that that really helps, especially when seeking advice.
  • I'm sure he's not trying to make you fail. I'm in a similar boat. My boyfriend didn't even realize that I was making all these big changes. Granted, I've only been taking this seriously for about a week, but he still didn't notice until I told him. Even though he's supporting me, I don't think he quite understands how…
  • I like how you put this. I'm still new at this and am trying to grasp this concept. I've always been one of those people that thought that less calories was better. When I first joined this site about a week ago, I thought that the concept of eating more would never work, but I've been watching people's tickers. Those who…
  • Dee - I'd love to join your challenge. I just got The Biggest Loser Challenge for my Wii and the weekend here in New England looks like it might be nice. My goal is going to be to do 4 - 30 minute workouts (or more) this week to reach 120 minutes of workout. I think I'm going to shoot for 3 workouts with the DVD, then go…
  • I met my boyfriend online. I never thought that'd be the place I'd meet the love of my life, but hey, i'm not complaining. :-P It's been just about 3 years, and I love him more than ever.
  • Thanks everybody! I bought The Biggest Loser Challenge today for my Wii. It's the one that's been catching my eye for a while now and the one that seems like it has the most variety and options to keep things interesting. I'm going to start it tomorrow and try it for a while. I'll try to let everyone know how it's going in…
  • Thank you for the feedback everyone! I'm going to look into these again and see which one might be best for me. My attention keeps going back to The Biggest Loser so maybe I'll get that. I get outside enough on the weekends now that Spring is on its way, so I'm not worried about exercising then. However, I don't do much…
  • Thank you everyone!

  • I kind of feel the same way you do. I'm not a smoker, but I am trying to change my eating habits and start exercising. I just joined this site in hopes that it will help me get on the right track. I like how I can see a better picture of where I'm slacking and what I should change. However, it can still be hard to stay…
