  • It's an amazing accomplishment and you deserve to feel every ounce of pride and to own sense of athleticism!!! You aren't just an athlete...you're a TRIathlete!!! Welcome to the club ;)
  • Megan, I started competing in triathlons last year, so I'm still fairly new - but I would love to share my experiences, training and thoughts with you. Sending a friend request your way!
  • Congratulations! I am a triathlete and I loved your post! Keep on tri-ing! (P.S. What training plan did you use? I'm hoping that your post will inspire my husband to try a tri!)
  • I'm struggling with the fruit thing, too. The way I see it, though, I've had great success the past month while still eating fruit (I think a lot of it has to do with the triathlon training I'm doing...burning lots of calories - hopefully the carb ones and THEN some...). Eventually I will have to reduce the amount of fruit…
  • Congratulations! Your success and your words are truly inspiring! Best to you on the rest of your journey - happy LIVING! :)
  • You can scramble eggs in a mug in the microwave, too. Also: Applegate Farms makes some lovely organic, preservative-free, Paleo friendly chicken apple breakfast sausages that cook up in five minutes. Eating out has been surprisingly easy for me! I just make good healthy choices and it all seems to work out in the end.
  • Hi everyone! I work in Seattle and live west of Seattle. I am a born and bred PNW girl, went to WSU in Pullman (GO COUGS!) and spent nine months in Boise before returning to the Seattle area. I <3 the Pacific Northwest (but wish the sun would show up for summer already...)
  • I should amend this: I commute to Seattle. ;-)
  • I am! :-)
  • I've been Paleo for about a month, so I am happy to share my newbie knowledge with anyone who needs it. There are other more experienced and knowledgeable Paleos on MFP, but I am excited to share my one month of knowledge with anyone who wants or needs it!
  • Don't give up! And DON'T beat yourself up! We all have slip ups and this is NOT a religion, so it's not like you're going to a bad place for eating rice. ;-) Just get back on the wagon and cut out those grain-based carbs! You know you can do this, and you know you'll feel awesome!
  • And this is where I stray from strict Paleo...:embarassed: I'm an endurance event junkie. I run half marathons, and I'm currently training for my first triathlon. Both Cordain and Wolf say in their books (and I'm paraphrasing here) that our ancestors wouldn't have done these sorts of things, and therefore neither should…
  • Happy Birthday, and many congratulations on your success!!! Here's to a new you in this new year!
  • Hello to everyone! I've been Paleo since June 1 and am loving the results! My current profile pic was taken today, and the outfit I'm wearing FIT ME at the beginning of the month! Besides the loss of inches, I feel amazing! No more bloating, no more crazy gas, no more "GI issues." It was really astonishing to me how much…
  • Thank you for clarifying your position on the Paleo diet - I am glad we can agree that it is a healthy way of eating. And please don't misunderstand - I wasn't speaking to you personally. I was actually speaking to my OWN experience with certain friends and family acting as if my decision to eat Paleo-style was the end of…
  • I've been eating Paleo for two weeks and have already noticed a HUGE difference in my energy level, ability to focus, and just how I generally feel: lighter, happier, healthier. I have told many of my friends that it is not a diet that will work for everyone, but if you are interested, I strongly encourage you to read The…
  • Well, sigh. I didn't workout on Easter, and I had a major tantrum yesterday and didn't workout yesterday, either. Boo. BUT - I'm back in the game! I did Day "7" this morning, I'll do Day "8" tonight, and tomorrow I'll make up Day 9 and 10 and be back on track to start L2 with everyone on Thursday. I do have a conference…
  • Good job, everyone! It's awesome to be part of such an inspiring and dedicated group! It's tough to do this every day, but I expect that our before and after pics will be AMAZING!
  • Day 4, 30 Day Shred: complete! (and I even bumped up my intensity!) I shouldn't be surprised that a full 8 hours of sleep makes working out SO much better! :)
  • Day 3 of 30 Day Shred = hardest day yet! I am sore and tired. I caught myself thinking, "I hope this gets easier at some point..." and then I remembered that the whole POINT is for it to be hard. If I weren't challenging myself and giving 110%, nothing would change!
  • Happy Tuesday everyone! I shredded today for the second day in a row, and it was just a "leetle" bit harder than yesterday! I definitely feel sore, but not so sore I can't move... And since everyone seems to be posting their least favorite exercise from the video, I'll post mine: the lunges. I hate lunges! The side ones…
  • Is it too late for me to join? I did Day 1 this morning and would love to have some accountability buddies!
  • Welcome!
  • I was also really inspired by her post! I tried reading it to DH, as fear of failure is his biggest problem ( he won't even TRY it's so bad), but he just said, "Oh that's nice." lol, at least one of us gets it!
  • Welcome, fellow Kelli! I always get excited when I find other Kellis, lol! We are all here for the same reasons and to support each other in our journeys to better health. We can help keep you on the right path, but wanting it for yourself is the very best first step you can take! Look for my friend request... :)
  • I think it's horrible that somehow it is still "ok" for people to say hurtful, tactless, insensitive things to people of size. It's unacceptable to insult someone's race or gender or sexual orientation, so why is it acceptable to insult their size?! Watch out: I'm getting fired up!
  • My husband's friends call him Tubby. He says it doesn't bother him, but it really bothers me. It's just not nice!
  • Potatoes and Yams are not free on WW. Starchy vegetables are assigned a Points value, though the exact number eludes my memory at the moment.
  • I'm a WW member and will try to explain. My best advice: don't confuse Points with calories - they are not the same thing! Long story short: WW revised the formula used to calculate Points, so it is now more accurate. Calories are part of this new formula, but they also factor in other macronutrients like carbohydrates,…
