If you know it's a mental illness why are you bringing it as an analogy in a discussion about body types? Not all anorexics are thin or emaciated. That's my point. Have already responded to the ugly v. not beautiful. Meh I'm out.
-
I also wouldn't ever go up to an anorexic person and say "you aren't beautiful". Neither would I say that to anyone who was obviously unwell. But in any event, the ranty vibe of the OP implied she has disdain for how thin people look rather than simply being neutral łwhich is what you're claiming with your distinction…

Firstly, anorexia is a mental illness not a body type. Secondly, no I would never tell an anorexic person they are ugly. There are ways to express an opinion without disparaging others. The OP did not do that and rightfully got called out. Body shaming harms people and is not okay. For anyone. Not your body? Not your…

Going by your profile you've been doing this a few months already. Do you not normally fluctuate that much? My weight changes up to 8lbs within the course of one day. If you know you ate under goal then it will be water retention.
-
What's your calorie budget? How tall are you? How do you calculate exercise calories? Do you eat them all back? Do you weigh your food with a digital scale? Difficult to answer without knowing these questions.

Unless I'm sick I would very, very rarely net below 1800. My maintenance is 2800 net, and most days I would gross about 3000-3200. Love food!

Ignore me. I was being a creep :-P

Agree with all of this. Perfectly said. The only thing I'd add is that orthorexia is when the obsession with being healthy actually becomes unhealthy. That is, it's based on the distorted belief that "X = healthy food = good" therefore "exclusively eating X = super super extremely healthy and perfect".

This is not what I thought this thread would be about. *disappointed*

Full fat milk. But I'd go one step further and include double-cream brie. Mmmm twice the fat!! I think the only thing where I genuinely prefer the "low fat" version is cottage cheese.
-
Bread is one of life's pleasures. I don't understand why you would want to eliminate it completely.
-
The short answer is you don't (unless you are literally 4'11" or 5', totally sedentary and aged like 65+).
-
Do you literally carry all your weight in your face? At 5'2" and 103lbs, and I'm assuming a relatively normal body-weight distribution, there is no way you have a fat face. Your BMI is only 18.8 and verges on underweight for your height. You need to work on changing how you perceive yourself. Good luck with that. It's a…

I never sleep in a bra. Sometimes wear a singlet top though. I'm 34B I think (12B in NZ sizes) and aged 29. I also rarely wear knickers to bed. Was raised to let things breathe overnight.

Good to know, thanks! Yeah I calculated the grams of protein I had been recommended & then divided remaining calories according to taste. I like me some fat and some carbs. Nomnomnom.
-
Same as everyone else pretty much. I lost 25lbs before anyone noticed (aside from my partner), and about 30lbs before most people noticed. Oh and I'm 6'1".
-
What exactly constitutes "high carb"? Do you need to reach a certain number of grams? Or is it about percentages? I generally do 2800cals with 50c/35f/15p or 45c/35f/20p but dunno if this puts me in the high carb camp?
-
Do you mean just your face weighs 103lbs? Because if that's the weight of your whole body then I'd wager the "fatness" on your face is actually a distorted perception.
-
There's nothing wrong with the amount of carbs you're eating unless you have a medical reason to avoid or limit carbs. My personal suggestion would be to eat more fat, and make sure you meet your target calories every day. Good luck!
-
I maintain on about 2900 net, which I feel pretty pleased about. Love my food.
-
I'm not sure how much you understand about the human digestive system but it might help you to know that when you eat food, it enters your system and effectively displaces previously-eaten food already making its way through your digestive tract. In other words, if you poop right after you eat, you aren't pooping food you…

I'm a bit confused about what the OP is asking for exactly. MFP is not going to support medically and nutritionally dangerous diets, hence a warning message when you undereat. If you're so determined you are doing the best thing for your body by eating 800-1200 per day, I'm not sure why you feel the need to prove yourself…
-
The way you stop that message appearing is to net over 1200 calories per day.
-
Seconding the "where do you get your exercise burns from" question. I would need to run at least a half marathon to burn 1400 calories. Are you doing that every day?
-
I personally find maintenance more difficult because I'm a person who naturally gravitates to extremes. I don't struggle with losing or gaining, but I find balancing rather tricky. I hope in time it gets more intuitive.
-
Also curious to know why you eat stuff you don't like. If you're restricting calories surely you want to make sure you spend every single calorie on delicious and amazing food you love. Who wins if you punish yourself? No one.
-
Can I ask who or what you are cheating exactly? Your body always knows what it is eating, so the terminology confuses me.

I let go this past weekend and had 8913 calories on Saturday and 6381 on Sunday. I was away with a big group of friends (without internet but with tonnes of food) and I couldn't easily count calories or weigh stuff. Oh well. I regret nothing. It was all delicious!
-
I generally eat every three or four hours. After five hours without food I get hangry!

Tagging for future reference.
