  • I managed my quickest 5km this year this morning, fasted, so it seems that things are slowly improving. 10k on Sunday - we'll see how that goes!
  • Thank you all, this has been really interesting and helpful. I'll let you know what I decide about the 10k and how I get on.
  • I should add that I'm not worried about finishing it - I will finish it, but maybe very slowly (like 10 minutes slower than my pb!). I just though the banans might help me go a bit faster. As a one off because I hope to be properly fat adapted before I do a half marathin in June
  • I think that because I'm obviously not properly keto adapted yet, that I'll risk a couple of bananas - one before I leave the house in the morning (7.30 or 8am) and the second, half an hour before - it starts at 11am, so at about 10.30. I'm not bothered about the effect on my diet - if it makes me put on weight, I'll just…
  • Thank you so much for this - it helps me feel reassured. Nearly six weeks in, I still feel like I'm running through treacle and am nearly 1 minute/km slower then I was before (although still 15-30 seconds/km faster than when I started the ketogenic diet - and I wasn't fast to start with!). I'm doing a 10k next weekend -…
  • Many thanks for the replies. I've stocked up with electrolyte tablets today. (I think swallowing half a teaspoon of neat tablesalt would make me vomit!)
  • Tag team with your wife. So if you do mornings, she does bedtimes and vice versa and maybe save one or two days in the week where neither of you do anything so you can have family time. Can I just say what a lovely partner you sound? Many men wouldn't give a second thought about leaving their wives to care for their…
  • If it's been going on for years, the chances of it being something serious are low (although probably worth getting checked anyway). You are probably one of those people who is unlucky enough to get exertion headaches. Have you tried taking painkillers before exercising? It may prevent the headache from getting so bad, or…
  • I think a wristband one would be better - I think I managed to lose the Fitbit One because it was just clipped to my clothes, I would wear it all the time Primarily I want it for steps and sleep tracking. I'd like it to have an alarm on it like the Fitbit One. I run a little bit and I do have a separate HR monitor, but i…
  • Forgot to say, it would be good if it will also synch with MFP!
  • Thanks
  • I was like that too. The cardio is the hardest, all those jumping jacks and skipping took ten days before I could do just that bit without stopping. Don't want to demotivated you but I did level 2 for the first time today. Just when I was pleased with myself for doing level one without stopping, level two nearly killed me.…
  • I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 which does support Bluetooth 4 the phone synchs with the Fitbit because I set it up with the phone first. Actually I think it is now doing what I want it to as MFP is now showing Fitbit calories adjustment under exercise. Shame it's currently at zero calories......... Treadmill later I think
  • I've added Fitbit to MFP online, I can't see anyway to do it via the mobile app that is what I was asking really. MFP is talking to Fitbit because the calories I've added to MFP are showing up on my Fitbit account but nothing from Fitbit is showing up on MFP, no calories, no steps, nothing!
  • Perhaps I should also say hello! My name is Kate and I'm a working Mum to three kids (9 going on 14, 7 + 2). I would like to lose 10kg ad get rid of my sticky out tummy - I'm forever getting asked when I'm due! I do a it of running ad some strength exercises as well to try and strengthen my core up. I'd be very happy if…
