  • I did a quick Google search and found this. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1460948/how-to-unsync-mfp-and-garmin-connect
  • Many excellent pieces of advice already given that I use, as well. I also wear these compression arches, and they have made a huge difference. https://www.amazon.com/SB-SOX-Compression-Sleeves-Women/dp/B078SG2J8T/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=sb+sox+compression+arch+sleeves&qid=1556732205&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1
  • I wouldn't call these lemon meringue cookies decadent. But they're delicious, really fun to make, and they also make my diabetic dad really happy. One calorie each? What's not to love?! https://www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/easy-sugar-free-lemon-meringue-cookies-recipe-4-ingredients/
  • I prefer chopped veg salads to leafy salads. This is my current fave (minus the onions). Plus it's a meal prep, so I have four prepared for the week. https://www.skinnytaste.com/greek-chickpea-salad/
  • I get tired of the same songs over and over. I listen to all different stations on Pandora. I also enjoy listening to podcasts and books while exercising.
  • I love walking and generally do 20,000+ steps per day. I'd love to walk to work instead of driving, but I have too much to carry and I can't even think about how terrible my hair would look when I got there!

  • I'm planning to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!
  • If you are truly hungry, you should eat more calories at lunch or have an afternoon snack. I, too, have struggled with this same problem. After much introspection and experimentation, I have concluded that my problem is not actual hunger. My issue seems to stem from going to school my whole life (first as a student, then…
  • We raised two boys. With both of them, we found out that they just weren't ready as early as the girls in our family. We gave up trying until they were at least 3 years old. Our goal was to have them fully potty trained by age 4. I think they both ended up trained by about 3 1/2. It really wasn't worth the stress of trying…
  • Artichoke arancino at a little dive called Mondo Arincini, just outside the gates of Rome. Oh what I wouldn't give to go there and eat it again!
  • Be careful making broad statements like that. I use this strategy every night to avoid nighttime snacking and I know many other people who use this same strategy. I am not and have never had any type of anorexic behavior.
  • Chardonnay! Haven't had any in months because it complicates my weight loss efforts. Going to happy hour tonight and having a big ol' glass!
  • I do this every night. And after I've enjoyed my snack, I immediately go brush my teeth. I don't want to eat anything with a clean, minty mouth. Plus, after awhile, the ritual kind of gets stuck in my psyche. My brain knows that I enjoy my snack, I brush my teeth, then I'm done for the day.
  • This is one of the kindest posts I've seen on MFP as far as clearing up misinformation goes. You are a great human being!
  • My tip would be to read the stickies at the top of each message board (they say Closed). I didn't realize what these were for, and when I finally figured it out, I discovered they contain a wealth of valuable, helpful information.
  • Agreed. My dad can eat store-bought mushrooms with no problem. But the delicious morels that we find in the woods make him very sick. He still enjoys hunting with us, though. It's such a great family activity.
  • We have this at my employer as well. Last year, I WAS that crazy person who took first place every single month. (I walked 1,000,000+ steps/month). I've never been good at or won much of anything before. I figured out that this was a way I could finally excel and be the best at something. It ended up consuming me, though,…
  • I LOVE Quest bars. I have one nearly every day as part of my lunch. The ones I eat have 20 g of protein. Some people like to soften them in the microwave, but I like them just they way they are in the package. I bought lots of individual bars in various flavors at the grocery store. Now I subscribe to my favorite flavors…
  • I have 250 calories of M&M's every night after dinner. I eat them one at a time and savor them. Knowing I will get that treat every day gives me something to look forward to and keeps me from bingeing. Also, every night I know when the M&M's are gone, it's time to brush my teeth. Having clean teeth and that minty taste in…
  • You'd have better luck with this in Fun & Games or Chit Chat.
  • I lose incredibly slowly, too. Here are some key ideas that I remind myself about whenever I start to feel frustrated (many of them I've gleaned from reading all of the wonderful advice on these message boards): 1. I've yo-yo'd and regained so many times, that I'm adamant I'm never doing that again. I know that by losing…
  • I used to have a Fitbit, now I have a Garmin. I prefer the Garmin because I don't have to charge it. I was forever forgetting to wear my Fitbit after I took it off for charging.
  • Wow! Reading this actually brought tears to my eyes. Your wife is very blessed to be married to you.
  • This is exactly what I do, and it works great for me.
  • You have my sympathy. I've had exactly one root canal, and I'd rather go through childbirth again before having another.
  • All the Sushi Goat Cheese and Arugula Pizza Lemon Meringue Cheesecake Frosted Strawberry Poptarts An Entire Bottle of Chardonnay
  • That's what teenage daughters are for. She's my taste tester. :)
  • My favorite no-cook lunch is a sliced apple, a garlic herb cheese stick, a serving of mixed nuts and two servings of Chex mix. Eating this is very satisfying and makes me oddly happy.
  • I've struggled with binge eating since I was a child, so close to 40 years. Yikes! In the past year, I've gotten a much better handle on it. I probably binge 1-2 times/month now, as opposed to daily. Two key factors that have made all the difference are: 1. Resisting the urge to over-restrict. I've slowed my weight loss…
