No need to be patronizing when it comes to helping out those who are just beginning this healthy lifestyle journey. Especially no need to post twice with the same self-righteous snark. I've associated white potatoes with "bad" because of what it does to blood sugar, and the fact that diabetes is in my family. I still will…

^^Never looked at it this way! Thanks

If everyone did this, there would never be a new post here ever. I'll continue posting and asking what I want. Thanks for sharing though.

Forget that you're doing it for looks, and maybe keep in mind you're also doing it for internal health! Be motivated that every inch, pound of fat you lose, the more happy your insides are, the better your organs will function, and the longer you'll live! Often people seek to weigh less for vanity reasons (like me--I'm not…

Thanks all!

Tortilla chips are def a trigger for me. I can sit down and eat half a bag with some salsa. I lie to myself and say its okay since the chips are blue corn (better for you) and since the salsa has tomatoes--LOL. I will need to stop buying them all together. Thanks!

Cleaning the bathroom (or anything really) One of the reasons housewives in the 40s, 50s, 60s were thinner than we are today as a society is because they were constantly looking after the house, lifting things up, vacuuming. It really does burn a lot of cals.

Not for me. I gain in my thighs, butts, and hips first. Recently lost weight and it all came from...my thighs, butt, and hips. Never gain in my stomach or arms, and as such, they have remained unchanged throughout my workout and diet change. Everyone is different.

This is a big deal! Congrats !

I don't think I can get my HS body back unless I whittle myself into a skeleton. Is it possible that I could have developed my hips/curves in my early 20s???? (My doc said yes, but has this happened to anyone else?) I've SO rounded out since HS. It's not fat it's just...idk curves? In HS I was a cool 125-130 and was…

I worked at Subway the summer before college and know first hand how the food is packaged and sent to us and how disgustingly it is prepared 'in the back" Anyone who actually thinks that place is healthy is deluding themselves. I also invite any of you to check out Jim Gaffigan's stand up on Subway. Hilarious.

Still doesn't mean ny particular burger wasn't tasty on that particular day in a completely different country. Cool out with the snark and enjoy your pink slime.

I like to disguise my water by heating it up and sticking a herbal tea bag in there :) I get to play around with flavors and different medicinal properties all the while getting the 0cals that water offers. Now I'm a tea fanatic and that's how I tend to get all my water. Also--seltzer water.

I had a McDonald's burger in France once and it tasted like a burger you'd get at a fine steakhouse in the States. Sad.

gorgeous!

Thanks! I do 2 of these already. I'm a massive herbal tea drinker (no milk, no sugar) and I do find myself having to go to the bathroom a lot. I'll make it a point to go to the further bathroom now. And I def get up and chit chat with my co workers. I'll try 4 and 5 in the meantime, and try to scheme about how I will get a…

Yes, this is what I have been doing. I just wanted to know if that alone suffices given my sedentary office landscape. I'll just have to schedule in more time in my work day to walk around. Maybe take a walk for every hour I'm sitting. Eureka, solved my own problem.

Well I want to wait until next Tuesday for 3 reasons. 1) Xmas shopping. I know food scales aren't expensive, but I have purchasing priorities right now 2) the weight loss challenge ends Friday. I'm going to restrict calories heavily and work out a lot for a chance at the money (yes I know this is not sustainable which is…

At first my goal was to win my workplace weight loss challenge (which may happen still), but now I see that my goals are to: -Get 6pack abs (all my fat goes to my legs thankfully, so I think I can really do this) -Loose fat mass in legs, go down to a solid size 6 (instead of being in between a 6 and 8) -tone up and have…

1) It could be muscle weight. Depending on what type of cardio (like resistance training or interval training) you may have gained lean muscle mass. 2) You had a bad water weight day. Best to weigh yourself in the morning after you body has digested from the previous day and before breakfast 3) Congratulate yourself for…

I have this problem too, especially with work pants from places like Ann Taylor or J Crew. I like to joke that my legs are a size 8, but my waist is a size 4. Le sigh. For jeans my GO TO place is America Apparel. Try the 'Easy Jean' They are high-waisted but I find that when I don't like that look, I simply don't tuck my…

All right. I'm going to look into measuring my foods after this contest ends. Thanks!

I work out 6 out of 7 days a week formally (as in going to the gym), but I'm always moving about (I especially love dancing around but don't count that as a workout). I am 5'3 and 152lbs. My ego says that I weigh so much but look smaller because I have more muscle than others in my height and weight class. But I know I can…
-
10lbs is my short term goal. Then after that 5 to 7 more lbs would be great. So 20ish pounds overall. I burn 300-400 calories every workout.
-
I don't, no. I just count calories.

Ahh what I coincidence! I've been running to their entire Hot Fuss album for the last week now! OP--I take it you don't like girly pop like Lady Gaga (her latest ARTPOP album is workout HEAVEN!). In that case I suggest Daft Punk, M83, Phoenix, Young The Giant. Just go to iTunes and any of their top songs will do. Also…

Thanks for all the replies you all. When I made this post I seriously wasn't fishing for compliments. I just wanted to know if anyone could relate or had tips on how to lengthen them or lean them out. Perhaps because this is a fitness community there is bias here towards muscle, but out on the real world I seriously do get…
