  • So, today I went back to my regular normal food - Danon Fit and lite and it was so good, I feel like I was in a food jail eating all that food trying to force myself to like it. And some of that vegan food has worse calories and sugar in it. No thanks! I am onto a new month where I shall eat as I want and still lose…
  • when you eat food that is high in sodium (like sausage) how long does that usually take the body to rid itself and you start to lose again (if its water weight retention)?
  • I'm eating complex carbs, I have a pre-diabetes issue, but that is beginning to reverse quickly. I have done various types of ways of eating and I keep evolving, so here I am at this place dealing with the vegan stuff.
  • I'm beginning to think that the IIFYM crowd might be right after all! (if it fits your macros). I'm not trying to be silly, but it may be true after all.
  • THANK YOU !!!!! this is liberating!!!!
  • ok let me be brave here. do you all eat any sugar, brown sugar or anything? I mean real sugar! a little bit for flavor, some vinegary foods need a bit of brown sugar to be edible.
  • thank you all! innately I believe I know what works best for me. I could feel full on 2 boiled eggs for only about 140 calories. if I eat a bowl of oatmeal with fruit and cream (coz it tastes good that way). I will be eating 400 calories. so the 140 egg breakfast is better.
  • yes those are the ones!
  • I had not heard of that. wow, I think im trying to give myself permission to follow the way of eating that I think best.. but yes I have listened to the scare tactics. I really needed help thinking this thru. its helping me to go forward. I got caught up in the vegan thing.
  • Heres an example of what im talking about - someone wrote - Cow's milk yogurt is just not healthy, unfortunately. The cheap brands may contain bovine growth hormone, and even the organic brands contain hormones that were never meant for human consumption. Milk products contribute to osteoporosis, ironically, and raise the…
  • So I guess I'm trying to say - people who do not eat animal and dairy products are concerned bout the hormones and other things that they add to it, and so you are ingesting all that. however, I am wiling to deal with that for the sake of my goals - lower calories and lower carbs, etc. Are the hormones and other stuff they…
  • I found the printable report which shows more than 5 macros. but I forget, is this only on the premium MFP?
  • Thank you ! i never knew about that feature!
  • Thank U - I know that, however it is exciting when it happens automatically without even trying :)
  • I have noticed that too.. Vegan is not necessarily "whole food plant based". Vegeterian recipes can be loaded with stuff that I dont eat. like pie. or Doritos. or cake.
  • Doritos is not worth all the trouble that being fat does to someone. I can tell you from experience, that now that im eating a whole food plant based diet, Cheetos and Doritos are NOT something i even think about or desire. New foods are attractive to me and i want them.
  • now 9 more pounds to go.. imma gonna get there quick!
  • No, I mean when MFP gives you about 15 different things to track about those micros when you fill in your food each day - ie.. cholesterol, fat, protein, saturated fat, calories, etc. Is there any way to track your food by more than 5 choices MFP allows you? I'm wondering if there is something here that I have not yet…
  • Since there are no superfoods, maybe I don't have to force myself to eat kale which is alien food to me.
  • I don't know about superfoods - but 2 foods that have been a lifesaver for me - baked sweet potato and Greek yogurt. Both of these are so decadent that I feel like I'm eating fattening dessert. So satisfying. So its a superfood to me (whatever that means). its super delicious!
  • Ha! I know im not quite there, but just seeing MFP say I will be 298 in 5 weeks! that's something I haven't seen in YEARS!! at least 3 years - I have to check my numbers back then. That means I have been living over 311 for 3 years UGH!! I just didn't care and let it go. tried a couple times, but then re-ate back my…
  • OH! i started this diet at 355 on Feb 21, 2017. I now this morning weighed 311. I'm almost on Twoterville, not there yet, however, MFP says I will be there in 5 weeks.. But i know i will be there sooner. I have been over this particular weight for the past 3 years. I was on MFP for a while, but like a lot of times, we just…
  • I am doing low carb, but not keto at 20 grams of carbs a day. The extra carbs make my way of eating like i am not even dieting.
  • Wait for your body to feel hungry - hunger pangs, etc. then eat a small meal. see when hunger pangs go away. Thats when you are full.
  • I tried Halo Top since folks were raving about it.. I was not impressed. It was rather watery. I wont need to buy it again. if Im going to have ice cream, I'm going to have the good stuff. If something tastes too diety then its no fun.

  • Coming off a keto diet, that bag of cherries and that half a watermelon sure felt like a cheat meal.
  • Taco made with - low carb wheat torilla, some sauteed chicken, lettuce tomatos, onion, and salsa and a little sour cream. Very filling and low cal/low carb.
  • I know what IIFM means. it means if you can eat cake, pie, pastry, candy bars, etc. into your macros, you can eat it and lose weight. However, to those of us who have other issues, like for me, IIFM will not include those treats. That might be "selective IIFM"

  • This topic helped me. I have been logging in every day.. i usually eat the same things. Now i have been cutting back on my portion sizes as i was probably eating more than i thought. so this week i have been successful in losing. i do need the MFP food log when i eat something unusual like when i went out to TGI Fridays.…
  • Easy answer - you are eating too many calories which will keep you at a maintenance level. I suggest the carbs are too high (making you hungrier); and you are eating too much treats. You need to write down everything you eat and drink, so that you can see right there what exactly you are eating. Do that for a couple weeks.…
