She mentioned group barbecues, so maybe they are just looking for larger groups.

But that's what happens in exponential growth. It is completely believable. I agree with @lemurcat2 . This was probably spreading sooner than they thought. But if it was spreading in November or early December, I find it hard to believe we wouldn't have seen severe cases earlier. Look how quickly it happened in Italy.

Covid 19 is the disease, not the virus. It's confusing. Eta. Sorry, this was already covered.
-
How do you know this? Are you in the US?
-
I teach microbiology labs, and this would make a great experiment :). When we can get back into the labs, that is.
-
Have you tried the fudge covered ones? I had to stop buying them.
-
I hope I didn't come off like a jerk. I very much appreciate your updates. And I think it is great how we are all learning.

That isn't airborne. It seems pedantic, but there's a difference between aerosol and airborne.
-
Agreed. It is still considered aerosol droplet. I haven't heard any evidence that it stays airborne.
-
None, I'm afraid. My 88 year old mother still went to bingo on Friday, in Florida :(.

I found this link in Facebook. It has simulations on how the virus spreads under certain situations. It really illustrates how social distancing works. If it has been posted in here already, I apologize. I'm not sure I even did the link correctly :). It should be free because it is coronavirus related.…

We went out to eat last night, and they had removed everything from the table. You had to ask for stuff. And they were wiping things down like crazy. Went to Moe's earlier this week and the salsa bar was closed. We're actually done with eating out now.

I'm in NC, and my store had only one bunch left.
-
I read the Gina Kolata's book, and it was really good.
-
If it was early December in the US, it is highly doubtful you had this virus. I am in NC, and I have a student who has been coughing since January. There are many nasty viruses around. Just my opinion.

I am finishing out this first week with 6/7 AF days. I had a couple of fru fru martinis on Friday with dinner. Normally I would have still gotten wine to drink at home after the dinner drinks, but I stopped at the 2 drinks. My challenge to not drink wine for a full week ends tonight. I'm trying to figure out how I want to…

I'm going to try eating sour candy! I love sour, and it might be a nice reward or alternative treat.
-
Tonight will make it 4/4 days AF. Tuesday was the hardest because it is my most stressful day, and I like wine once I finally get home. It has been tough, which I guess tells me I really need this. I don't necessarily plan to totally quit, just reduce (a lot).
-
I am in. I'm mostly going to work on reduction at first, although I'm in a challenge this week to avoid wine. My goal this week is 7 days AF. I love wine. But it is kind of controlling me lately.

It Follows.

This is a good point. I'm in NC, and we have a store called Cato. It has many of the same things on their plus side as in the regular size. Eta:. I just realized you are in Australia. I should have finished reading before posting :). My thoughts are with those of you dealing with the fires.

In the avocado?

You open a portal to another dimension :).

I will have to try this!

And the vast majority take hours to days. I'm thinking of the microbial ones. The microbe has to reproduce first. Even Staph food poisoning (toxin) will generally take longer than 30 minutes. Also, I have IBS. I can eat something and have issues very quickly. And it isn't food poisoning.
-
30 minutes is generally way too early for food poisoning.
-
Now that I completely understand :).

Did you get the hash brown, too?
