It may not work for everyone I guess. But it does work for me. I eat according to what my fitbit tells me, and I am losing weight at the desired rate.
-
It actually is not just the steps taken (or mileage). The adjustment it makes has more to do with overall activity throughout the entire day. It also takes into account your activity level setting in MFP. I keep mine at sedentary, but I am not sedentary. So my adjustments are larger to account for this on days I do a lot…

I understand this :). I am doing Precision Nutrition, which doesn't recommend counting calories. But I do it anyway while I am learning the other habits.

First world problems.

If the Fitbit is synced to MFP, this is not true. It doesn't matter what activity level you are set at. Fitbit will update MFP numbers based on your activity.

We pay $80 a month for a family of 4 at the YMCA.

I wish this were true. But it wasn't, at least for me.

I've lost weight pretty easy, both in perimenopause and menopause. So yes, I would have been able to maintain my weight. Unfortunately I didn't LOL. But that was on me.
-
This is not always true. I ate all mine back. Every one. But I was also conservative.
-
Possibly. I did body pump, and so much depends on weights used, intensity, etc. I used to log about 350 for an hour. I ate all of them, and weight loss was fine. I guess my point was that it is still an estimate, and you will still have to monitor results just as @AnnPT77 mentioned.
-
This doesn't really make sense to me, though. Just because you used a database entry for body pump doesn't mean that number is actually more accurate for you.

If you aren't doing the same things consistently, but you are exercising consistently, you may want to try the TDEE method?

Healthiest - no idea. Favorite - cashes and pistachios ( and honey roasted peanuts).

This is exactly how I handled it when I first started. I would order one slice and a side salad. It was perfect (the slice was from a 16 inch, so was a nice size). I could also put toppings on that no one else in my family will eat. It gets easier. In fact, going out to our favorite restaurant for pizza is now one of the…

I am completely ignoring this year.

I like the idea.

I can only see bars in the app on my phone. I am on my computer now, and I don't see bars :).

@Francl27 Have you considered taking classes, either just for fun or to brush up on skills? One thing I've noticed in your posts over the years is that you seem to sometimes be overwhelmed by all the things you do for others (kids, dogs, husband). As your kids get older, maybe it's time to find out how to really take care…

OP, did you recently start exercising? And when you say you haven't lost anything, does that mean NO weight loss, or just lower than expected?
-
Me too! I took chicken out last night. I hope I have pickle juice.

Parmesan crusted chicken, mashed sweet potatoes, and oven roasted broccoli. Blue apron.

This will probably seem silly. I do not really consider regular potatoes as a veggie. Because of the beta carotene, I do consider sweet potatoes a veggie. Yep I realize that doesn't really make sense.

Now that I think of it, I only fill everyone's plate if it is just our family. When we have guests, I do have them fill their own plate. We don't have guests often, so that is why I didn't think of it.

Yeah, I didn't think it was weird either as this is how we do it every day. I dish out everything. If my husband is watching his diet, I will measure his the way I do mine, or let him do it himself. When I was growing up, my mom put everything on the table and everyone served themselves. But my gosh that could dirty up so…

If you just started exercising, that can also mask weight loss because you can retain water. Checking accuracy of logging and measuring (weighing) is also one of the first places to start.

I gave up regular soda in 2008. I found that after about 2 weeks I no longer had cravings. I drink it maybe twice a year now, and I do not miss it. I switched to unsweetened iced tea, so I was still getting caffeine. I just didn't need all the calories. I have no issue with diet soda except that I cannot stand the taste.…

I asked this same type of questions but I haven't gotten an answer. There has to be some kind of guideline, right? But I can't see the program. It wants me to sign up. Nope, not that interested in an answer :).

This is the reason I left WW for MFP. When I discovered MFP, I did both WW and MFP for 2 weeks. And I found I was undereating in WW. I was not one to eat many of the free fruits and veggies. And WW points really penalize you for certain types of foods. I lost just fine with MFP, and never looked back.

I wouldn't try to make "big" changes all at once. Maybe start by logging (and reading the stickies in mfp to learn how to accurately log). Once you've done that a while, you might find patterns in the way you eat which might suggest small changes that would make a big difference. You can plug in your information, get a…

I'm not saying it is, but it can also be psychological. If you believe the detox did really wonderful things for you, you may be expecting changes once you start adding things. This does happen.
