The only thing that helps me on days like that is feeling like I've been treated! I make a batch of jello, put some cool whip on top and indulge! Feels like I'm eating a bazillion calories, just like my brain wanted.

oh my goodness, congratulations! I can't wait for that one either!

I don't comment too much but feel like this is one I understand. My husband met and married me at my heaviest. He ONCE (and only once) told me something I was wearing made me look fat. He told me I was beautiful and I believed him. And once I got on this healthy bandwagon, I was shocked at how fast he was to support it; as…

I've been slacking. Majorly. But back in the game this week. My February goal is to ensure I am exercising 4 times a week. It builds up the endorphins and gives me the boost I need to consistently eat right...and like you, pomodori, more water! :)

Happy to see a few more faces! I think we could all use the support! :)

I'm not a fan of New Year's resolutions either...usually thinking: why wait til New Year's? Well, it IS the new year, so why not make a vow to change something, right?! So...I've already committed to getting myself healthier. With that in mind, my resolution for 2016 will be to be kinder to myself. I talk to myself more…

I haven't been checking the group, my bad, but YAY you, @Pomodori ! Congrats on overcoming that plateau! I've not done so well over the holidays, but certainly not as bad as I have been other years. I'm more conscious of what I'm eating and I'm the first one to volunteer for any kind of physical activity too. I'll admit it…

I watch my dvds on mute :) :) :)

Being under calories sounds like a win to me mcclark!
-
Well mine was pretty simple...I started the Couch to 5k. I did week one, day one yesterday. Feels good to be moving...wish I could force myself to remember that when I'm in a slump & don't feel like doing a dang thing!

Le sigh...shopping somewhere other than a plus sized store? Sounds like heaven! I'm like you chnkysoup...always think the workers will think, what the heck is she even doing in this store? :( Somehow when I see you write it, I want to tell you, don't you dare feel that way, needing larger clothes isn't the end of the…

I decided to not eat at designated times. I'd eat breakfast when I was hungry for it; not first thing in the morning. I'd eat lunch when I was hungry for it; not at noon. etc. Turns out I'm someone that isn't hungry until late morning, so I eat breakfast then. Making lunch late afternoon and dinner late evening. Which…

And I am in too...I've been losing basically just through calorie reduction. Been WANTING to start Couch to 5k but apparently not wanting it badly enough. So MY goal for the 12 days is to start the program and complete the first two weeks of the program!

Hi everyone! I'm Jo from Nova Scotia, Canada. I was thrilled to see your group as I believe anything is possible with a little help and encouragement! I'm 37. 5' 4 1/2". Starting weight 248, current weight 220. 1st mini goal 10% lost - reached a couple weeks ago. 2nd mini: 30 pounds 3rd: Next 10% 4th: To hit ONE-derland…

Take pictures and measurements! It's shocking how your brain works sometimes - and doesn't see any changes. Pictures and measurements will prove it, especially when the scale is not your friend. It's cliche, but the best advice I got when I started was: you didn't put it on in a month, so it's not gonna come off in a…

I've been around for awhile...but this time round only a few weeks. Bite sized goals is what I'm doing too to lose my 100 pounds. 10% at a time is what I've broken it down into. We can be in this together, too, if you like :)

Sigh, I feel your pain. I can't have it around me at all. So many people on here say that we should be able to eat whatever we want, just in moderation. Well, guess what, I CAN'T do that, hence the elimination of anything that will tempt me. I'll even do it with the lower cal alternatives - eat just one of those yummy 100…

When I'm just grazing, I eat frozen grapes. Takes longer to eat bc they're frozen and low cal. I get my snack fix and all is well with my food goals :)

Never too old to get healthy! Welcome aboard!

Yay!! That is awesome, congratulations on all your hard work! Inspiring :)

A number of years ago I finally quit smoking. It wasn't until I realized that I had to make that decision to quit a million times that I was actually successful. I think it's much like weight loss. We can't just decide once and for all (well, not everyone can, I certainly can't), this is it, I'm gonna lose weight! We have…

Good for you for reaching out. I empathize with your situation so much. We all know we have to eat less and move more...but it's never quite as easy as it sounds. I've been here for awhile, too, and have been committed, not committed, over and over again. I just couldn't get energized for work outs or anything. It seemed…

Mine is kind of a funny, albeit awkward NSV! I had to teach a First Aid class today..lots of moving around. My underwear for most of the day were hanging down each leg of my jeans! I didn't realize, obviously, when I got dressed this morning that these underwear are no longer wearable!

Hi Jerri...it does take some getting used to, that's for sure. But you shouldn't be starving. Are you sure you have your numbers figured out correctly? The boards have been really good for me for finding foods that fill me up. Don't give up! Use this message board as a research tool! And there are tons of us out here that…

It amazes me that the know-it-alls have enough time to troll the boards, seemingly only to be condescending and rude to people that have genuine questions. We're all here because we want help keeping track...probably most to LOSE weight, some to gain and others to maintain. At one point, everyone was a newbie, so I have so…

Not at all. I feel exactly the same.

That IS wonderful! And you're providing such a good example for her as well, great job!

But you always get extra calories if you exercise... :)

I think if you've come here and have started logging, then you might be more motivated than you think. Perhaps you're looking for people to walk this path with you, to help keep you ACCOUNTABLE and to KEEP you motivated. I get that. I'm very private about this journey (this is my 3rd crack at it in a couple of years) with…

lol not in my experience! For me, hibernation mode means a slump - where I eat too much, exercise too little!
