Needing Motivation

I'm working with a 1300 calorie diet and I want to stay away from the junk food except on my cheat days, but I find myself nibbling on it and last night, while stuck at the hospital, I got hungry and started to stuff my face with donuts. I know what I should be doing, but I was wondering if anyone could offer any motivation to avoid junk, as it is my downfall.

Are donuts junk? You want help avoiding donuts? Don't buy them. Don't go I the break room.
My personal tactic is to try to never let myself get so hungry I'll make bad decisions0 -
Maybe your calorie deficit is too severe.
I don't know how to offer you motivation to avoid junk. We're all surrounded by food. Your priority has to be your weight loss, no matter the circumstances.0 -
This is probably gonna sound off topic, but I really think it applies. Get a Pinterest. I'm serious. They say you should always keep your eyes on the goal so you're not being derailed by stuff in the periphery right? Well, one of my biggest motivating factors is fashion. I know it's not all about what you look like blah blah, but you know what? I want to look awesome and if that motivates me, good.
What is YOUR motivation? Staying alive and healthy for a kid? Post his/her picture in the break room. Just feeling better? Watch some the collection of youtube videos called "People are awesome" to see just HOW MUCH better you will feel (if they can base jump off dams and do parkour, imagine how awesome it must feel to just be them doing nothing). Keep your eye on the goal. And maybe don't restrict yourself so much. I picked a thing: My voraciously over-sugared and creamed coffee. And I absolutely refused to give up that one thing, I just moderate it well. As long as you come in under your calories, and are getting good healthy food the majority of the time, one donut will not derail you forever. So figure out your motivation, and when you're next temptation arises, get thee to a screen/photo/whatever that will overwhelm your synapses with said motivation. It's easier to forget about the donut than to actively fight against it.0 -
You will do it if you think of it !!!0

Sigh, I feel your pain. I can't have it around me at all. So many people on here say that we should be able to eat whatever we want, just in moderation. Well, guess what, I CAN'T do that, hence the elimination of anything that will tempt me. I'll even do it with the lower cal alternatives - eat just one of those yummy 100 cal snack cake things? Nope, will have 3 or 4. So what was the point in having a low cal snack to being with? So I can't even have those around!! What I have finally found that works for me is pre-planning. I plan out my week, knowing exactly what I'm going to have for each meal and each snack. That way when the drive thru is calling my name advertising their donuts, I know when my next meal/snack is and what it is and do my damnedest to make it as tasty and wonderful as possible. Everyone is different...but that is the only way that has worked for me. Best of luck!!0
