  • Lifting to achieve what women consider an "ideal physique" is an exercise in futility. Don't do it. But let us be reality, the belly preference over 6 packs is not based on any sort of objective thought.
  • I go to a gym where 90+% of women wear makeup. I've yet to see one woman, even the ones dripping sweat, with dripping makeup on the face, raccoon eyes, etc etc. I hear about it all the time on MFP from the makeup-at-the-gym haters...but yet to see it in real lie.
  • Fly around and give presentations. Then push papers.
  • 3. Yes, 3 definitely Or 2nd to last....
  • yes absolutely, I could have a homemade breakfast and dinner cooked for me everyday. Clothes taken to dry cleaner. cupcakes in the oven waiting for me. /dreaming
  • nothing wrong that. add in some infrequent periods of maintenance level weeks or even just days. I've done that pretty much nonstop for 3 years and haven't gone above 11% or 12% BF in that time. Some intermittent maintenance or even cut days help restore hunger levels and other hormones.
  • helps keep intra abdominal pressure. doing stomach vaccuums and any ab exercise where you "lay out" (vs crunch) helps this too.
  • I want whatever juice that is. That's must have been a mega dosed cycle. 35lbs muscle at a massive deficit. what did he do, run 2g of Tren?! Yeah, calling BS on that one
  • Muscle is not something the body adds unless there is tremendous stimulus, energy consumption, or both. The body doesn't add muscle at a decent rate when eating a maintenance level of calories regardless of protein %. You can add protein, carbs , or fats to create that surplus. It doesn't really matter. Carbs are easier…
  • The PHAT routine I used and the only one I've ever seen online doesn't have any regular deadlifts. Only 8 rep Stiff legged deadlifts halfway through the lower body workout and romanian deads 8-12 reps on the other leg day. The way the program is setup, a regular dead wouldn't work well at all in the program since it'd have…
  • PR yesterday, 635x11 Rack Deadlift. It's a brag/max thread so why not. Not a big three. But since I don't do a single big three lift these days, it's all I have.. Pin below knee. . I think I could get 785 for 1. But not even gonna try with these effing slipped discs. I think it's THE single best lift for mass. Nothing…
  • it's difficult when I'm eating 3x what you probably maintain at. I lose weight if I eat 2x your maintenance. just sayin. and his 3000 calories needed to gain weight can be tough to hit if he's used to eating less or losing weight. lots of this is mental and hormonal. It can be hard at first to get the right mentality and…
  • wouldn't work, it's been tried, or at least something to the same effect. It's cool though, this island of misfits thread is a fine place to stay.
  • I made this, lol
  • O.M.G. This would be the one product that could ever beat out birthday cake oreos for my top food.
  • Of course he did. You caught his eye and introduced yourself...Or at least he was expecting you to say something more substantial than a few seconds concerning workout schedules.
  • the guy I originally quoted, which I mistakenly thought was you in my previous post but was actually someone else who hasnt replied since , originally said that when training for aesthetics, adding deadlifts would INCREASE growth and "improve the cns". I claim the opposite occurs, if everything else is held constant.…
  • dbmata did those studies compare the addition of deadlifts to an existing volume bodybuilding split? And then compare growth and recovery before and after? No? Ok, so zero relevance. I read your link. It doesnt support or debunk my belief in any way. 5'11"
  • Same experience for the most part. I train at 24 and see maybe 5% of the frequent lifters do deadlifts. Half of them aren't very serious about it (as in, muscular'ish males pulling 2-3 plates per side without much effort....in my book, that means not very serious about deadlift strength). BUT, the half that are actually…
  • are you seriously trying to compare lifting 120 POUND (lol 120!) to deadlifting low rep MAXES !? (Which is what most people do when deadliftng, it lends itself to maximal effort lifting, not 8-10 rep multiple set style lifting) Come on man. The deadlift performed at MAX weight, inlcuding failures which is bound to happen…
  • Strong logic. Yours was the first claim. Back it. You cant. You claimed adding deadslifts to a bodybuilding routine "improved the CNS" and would increase growth. I think thats complete BS and in fact does the opposite unless the routine is very well thought out and even then wont help mass growth for most lifters.
  • [/quote] Squats have about zero relevance. Deadlifts are much more cns taxing. Do any successful powerlifters, let alone bodybuilders, make good progress Deadlifting twice a week? Nevet heard of a single one who preferred that over once evey week or better yet, every 2weeks. 6x weekly and you'll be removing weight every…
  • What research shows adding deads to a bodybuilding routine improves cns recovery and increases growth? None. And mosy bodybuilders will tell you based on experience that it can often hurt. Good luck developong a bodybuilding routine that relies solely on peer-reviewed research. There isnt much of it in this world
  • Improve your cns? Lol no. They'll wreck your cns and impair growth unless you have a very well thought out routine
  • Any healthy male over 160lbs should be able to deadlift 405 after 2 years.
  • Gh makes a big difference especially for older guys. It can absolutely make a visible difference in an otherwise natty lifter. But basically you're right, it won't dramatically push someone past genetic limits without anabolics or at least some well dosed test replacement therapy.
  • In college, Thurs/Fri/Sat nights are least busy. I always went early afternoon though and it was less busy than the evening. Sunday morning is usually empty for obvious reasons, and nothing is better for a hangover than a good lifting session No, in this case it's always possible. Just not easy. It requires overcoming…
  • The only way to overcome that fear is to just go in and do it. There is no other way. It's no different than any other aspect in life. Conquer fear by doing and doing it well. Give it 2 months, you'll be hooked and the fear will be gone. Just remember, EVERY single one of those guys felt that same fear at some point. And…
  • Given that I bodybuild, I couldn't care less. When a 200 lb powerlifter has a better back than me from going strapless, then perhaps I'll try it out. Yet to see one though. ALso, unlike what many people in this thread are saying, I don't think a strapped deadlift allows for higher weights on SINGLE rep maxes. I always had…
  • Yeah, because I'm sure he and his trainer would tell the whole world about HGH usage and testosterone therapy. Go talk to any of the celebrity trainers in hollywood. Their clients all use gh.
