  • Welcome....5ft has its challenges, but you got this. Your setting an example for your daughter.

  • I am a revision surgery patient. My band was placed 5/2006 and It never functioned the way I anticipated. I never found the sweet spot and struggled with overfills and inflammation for the first year then my port would no longer work. I did not have the financial or insurance resources to do anything for several years. I…
  • Well I am at 18 months post surgery and my losses have been very slow also. Here are a couple of things to think about. 1. Yes.....hydration is IMPORTANT you should get at minimum 80oz per day of water (I don't count coffee milk, etc.) 2. Strength training.......start as soon as you can. Building muscle will help you in…
  • Ya personally I don't really think fat defines a person. I am obese on my way down from SMO, so I speak from experience. Why does this "epidemic" concern me? I don't want an obese military protecting my country, especially against coutries without one.
  • I agree with Escapepod. Keep carbs low. I have tried both ways and carbs are a danger zone, IMO. You will feel more full, have more energy, and less cravings keeping carbs low. Decide at goal if you want to add them back and how your body reacts. There is alot of info on low carb eating plans and recipes.
  • Your numbers look good all except water.....you need more. At least 80-100 ounces per day. Stalls happen while the body is adjusting, stick to, plan and the weight will come off. I eat a bit more than that but I am 1 year ahead of you and alot more to lose, but I am short too. I east the same basic foods all the time,…
  • 1. Allow chosen days and otherwise on plan 2. Choose alcohol, over food on those days.....its so much more fun 3. Choose a bite of the most disgusting baked good available so I am repulsed 4. Kindly thank the giver of holiday treats then when they leave put it in the sink and cover in dish soap 5. Try to stay calm, avoid…
  • It really pisses me off that people assume this is easy. Cutting out 85% of your stomach is not some spontaneous decision to diet. It ties us to being commited and working really hard to achieve weight loss goals. Really the only thing we get is a jump start and a constant reminder. If you ever talk to him again make sure…
  • Mine went from a 44H to a 36G currently. I still have alot to lose so I'm sure they will get smaller. I did not have to get a new bra until I had lost about 50. The next 50 made them loose fullness and I no longer have that push up cleavage look. So as your body shrinks so do the girls but its all proportionate, they still…
  • I was always of the opinion that parents who used a leash were lazy, or could not keep control of their kids. I hated leashes and refused to be THAT parent. Until I had my second son. If you have ever had a wanderer, escape artist, Houdini type child you would change your opinion. When you see your three year old almost…
  • My sons team, of course!
  • OMG! I loved that day!
  • a year and half ago I could only walk to my mailbox, so that's what I did every day. I tried to go further every week, and tracked with a pedometer. Eventually I was walking 1.5 miles daily. What really helped me was consistency. Even if I didn't want to, hated it, could only walk a few feet, I did it with out fail. I was…
  • I agree with the eggface suggestion. I used a ton of her recipes, and still do. I pureed everything....chili and sour cream, bake ricotta with egg and parmesean and top with marinara, canned chicken with light mayo and dill, mix chocolate protein powder and greek yogurt....its like mousse, marinara with cooked ground…
  • I am a slow loser and this is my 2nd WLS. I started stalling about 7 months out. I lost about 2 lbs a month untill I started running 15 miles a week, and then lost about 4 lbs a month. I still have 60 to a mormal BMI and 40 to personal goal. This is game on forever. Don't give up, you can do this!
  • Frozen wild blueberries 4% cottage cheese Whole bean coffe and SF soy milk for lattes Herbal tea and vanilla stevia Yogurt dressings Marinated chick peas Bagged greens Honey crisp apples PB2 Chipoltle tobasco I guess thats more than 3 but those are some staples
  • Some extracts to mix up the flavors of protein shake (coconut, almond, raspberry) teeny tiny bowl and plate instant decaf starbucks via packs if shes a coffee drinker Liquid Tylenol a shaker bottle
  • Yes, I get hungry. I eat low carb too and agree on days I get more protein I am fuller, especially if I start the day that way. I really try and fill up on vegetables.......lots of them. For snacks and with meals. At 185 lbs lost your doing great!
  • Wow! All these stories are unacceptable. Mean is not OK. I truly think I have been sheltered all my life. I have made it this far and never felt ostracism for the size I was. I am 5 foot and lived most of my life between 250 and 300 lbs. I am lucky I guess. My husband however is always called out for his height. He is…
  • I will be voting for labeling in WA State. I simply think it is my right to know. I do not trust Montesano. From a consumer prospective and as a local small farmer supporter. The financial support put toward voting down this initiative by Montesano smells rotten to me. As far as organics go.....local and organic are it for…
  • Well said.
  • Marge I really got serious about exercise around January of this year. When I started this journey 1 1/2 years ago I was 5 foot 300lbs and BMI of 55, I could not walk to the mailbox and barely up 1 flight of stairs. So yes I feel like an animal. Really and truly if I can do this ANYONE can, with baby steps. My goal has…
  • Great and informative read. Thanks!
  • I actually gained close to 20 lbs the week after surgery from normal fluid retention. Don't beat yourself up , ups and downs of small amounts are normal. I have been a daily weigher since day 1 and have had to deal with the emotional ups and downs that come with the weight fluctuations. If you stick to plan and move your…
  • Simply awesome! Love every moment you have earned that joy.
  • Amazing transformation! Continue to let your light shine, its beautiful.
  • Sadly I am tolerant to all foods......However I will get dumping if I eat high sugar or fat foods or if I overeat. I can eat a cookie (or other sugar/carb item) if its only a bite. More than that and I'm sick and lying down. I can only tolerate very small amounts of any complex carb...pasta, bread, baked goods before I…
