  • I have a few different protein powders do that to me. I thought I had developed lactose intolerance but nope its just certain mixes. Just a thought. Yes though, the month or two post surgery were very gastrically interesting. ALWAYS call your doc if you have a question, thats why they are there and have staff dedicated to…
  • Hey Bikermike is that picture of you from the Oyster run?
  • Nope, although I do not eat the early on 600-800 cals a day I still try for 1100. I ran a 10K on Sunday and run 5k+ on a regular basis. I also weight train. I may have a few extra calories on big run days, but I don't lack energy or stamina.
  • A personality or trait can make someone beautiful or unattractive. That being said a hottie is even hotter if he has a great personality and humor.
  • I am 2 years out from sleeve surgery. I shoot for 100g protein a day and 50 or less net carbs @ 1100 calories. I am a faithful logger in MFP. I still weigh daily. I exercise a lot. I trail run (since 1 year out) about 15 miles a week and strength train a couple of times a week. In the last year I have lost about 18 lbs of…

  • I actually agree with you....half of the posters are not correct in every situation of weight loss. Simply eating less than you burn does not work in every situation. It certainly works at first but the body adapts. There is more than one simple direction when losing weight. There are many things to consider over and above…
  • Mulecanter I think you are not accurate in your assumptions. Living proof here.
  • I will only share my experience with you. I lost a significant amount of weight on a VLC diet. After a year I stopped losing. I ran 15 miles a week minimum and my numbers would have me losing alot fast, but I didn't. Infact I had not lost in over 4 months, but I did not give up. I am methodical about weighing and measuring…
  • Stuff with spinach and a laughing cow cheese wedge for a tasty omlette and about 40 adiditional calories. Your trainer must understand that food needs taste and variety.
  • I agree with escape. Depends on what your eating. In general I stick to about .75 a cup of dense protein and veggie. Processed food for me slide right through. Carbs only make me want more. At 7 months you definitely can eat a bit more but not much.
  • Yes to chicken, eggs, tuna , greek yogurt. My favorite snack right now is greek yogurt with vanilla protein powder mixed in. Makes a fruit dip that I scoop up with strawberries, yum.
  • Lap band 5/2006 VSG 5/2012 My band port stopped functioning after a year and I had the band in place for 5 years unfilled. I never found the sweet spot and lost 30 in the first year. I rapidly gained that back plus more over the next five years. I could not eat dense foods without it getting stuck, especially at the TOM. I…
  • I do not step on the scale until 2 days after, and I am a daily weigher. My weight can go up as much as 8 lbs and it freaks me out so Istay off.
  • So amazing, you are glowing. I must say you look 20 years younger, just wait until you get those knees. Whatch out world.
  • I never could wear heels until now, but don't go buying a bunch of shoes. My feet shrunk 2 sizes and I jhad to give away all of my amazing shoes. I'm a bit of a shoe fanatic.
  • Magic bullet great, Ninja great, both worked well for me. I just got my first Vitamix and if your planning on drinking smoothies for the long haul I highly recommend, its worth the investment. You will at some point want to incorporate veggies in your diet and what better way? You can also make your own nut milk, hummus,…
  • Homemade almond milk with vanilla bean and chia

  • I am over 18 months out so check with your surgical team always first. I trail run as much as I can, I only started getting really serious about exercise at about 10 months out. It has changed my body and mind tremendously. I can't say enough about weight training, it will make you a lean machine. Do it as soon as your…
  • Strategic weather watching........if there is an hour its not raining or snowing I hit the trails. Dirt trails are much easier to navigate in cold weather, messy at times, but better traction. My gym has an indoor running track with rowing machines for intervals, thats an option. Crossfit class at the gym. Hiking and…
  • Outside for every reason.
  • Yes.....love omelettes 1 whole egg 2 egg whites veggies-lots-sautéed very small amount of goat or feta or parmesan cheese-high flavour
  • Hey there. Well I am a strong supporter of the surgery. I had VSG 5/2012 and have lost 106 lbs. I am 5 foot and pre surgery weight was 297 and BMI 55. I am 45.I also suffered no comorbitibies. I did not have insurance to pay for surgery. I have been on every diet and this is my second WLS. Been heavy my entire life. Aside…
  • A splurge at REI, new trail shoes, athletic wear, fitness apparatus, coffee with friends, quiet time, pedi. Taking a snowshoeing course. I don't think I have saved at all....I've created a monster.
  • <<< A work in progress
  • A 5 dollar rotisserie chicken can be a weeks worth of lunch, here are some things I add to the chopped chicken, 1. Chopped apple, celery, walnuts, curry powder and greek yogurt or light mayo 2. • ;) Nope just a fan. @Smokey caddie?
  • Lap band surgery 5/2006 Revision surgery to sleeve 5/2012 I have struggled and had victory, sometimes in the same day. The biggest battle for me is the head. I think many WLS patients would agree. I follow a paleo style diet (although I do have some dairy) high protein and low carb. I will agree low carb allows my body to…
