I love to say that my SO and I share a toothbrush. It really freaks people (and him) out. In reality, one of our Sonic Care brushes broke, and we are using the same one. With interchangeable heads, of course. Generally, combined email and FB accounts seem awful. Emailing rants about him to my best friend helps me determine…

Can you plant a garden? Kids seem to take to produce quickly when they're able to grow it "by themselves". It may also help to let them pick out new things to try at the grocery store or what vegetable to eat at dinner. I'm sure you can find great smoothie recipes that they would love. I don't think it's too early to help…

I think there's some value to frequent weigh ins, but it's so important to not let it affect how you feel about your progress. I've found it really helpful to realize that I can gain five pounds after a long weekend away and helps me eat more mindfully, even when I'm cheating. Generally, I don't count weight loss until…

I have pretty severe hypoglycemia as well and when i start to get sick, I want to eat everything in sight to find a quick fix. Sometimes, it takes me a few days to get back to feeling normal. While the obvious solution is to not let your blood sugar get that low, it still happens to me from time to time. I have found that…

I use Truvia and So Delicious Vanilla Coconut Milk. A lot of people recommend trying almond milk ... I love almond milk but think it is awful in coffee. Keep trying different things, something will work for you. If you're not concerned about chemicals or additives, you can get a low fat half and half and fat free coffee…

Try to track your calories anyway, but don't beat yourself up over it. I think it helps in the long run to know how many calories are in the things you eat. If I figure out that something I love and want to eat has 1,200 calories, I'll order a salad or a bowl of soup first and try to eat a third of it. I still always eat…

Kashi has some great lower calorie cereals, although I can't exactly speak to the level of processing. Nature's Path may be a good brand to try ... although I haven't personally tried it. Could you try oatmeal instead? I don't know much about weight watchers bread or its ingredients, but I'm sure you can find a more…

Hopefully, any juice you make at home would not use nearly as much fruit as is contained in one of those juices. If you're not primarily utilizing green vegetables, a lot of the admittedly questionable benefits will be eliminated.

Naked and Odwalla juices are full of sugar, and are primarily created with high sugar fruits. These are in no way an appropriate substitution for the juice made with primarily vegetables as discussed in the documentary. I agree that a better option would be to eat a cookie than drink two of these day. The arguments about…

If you're refusing to take the time to digest the information you're being provided, maybe you're not committed to giving it your best shot.

I'm currently down about fifteen pounds from 160 (5'5"). It felt like a lot of weight to loose for someone that was moderately overweight and took a lot of discipline to do so. I can't see any changes, and haven't received any comments from my partner or close friends (that are aware of my efforts) that I see on a regular…

I always pick fat because the foods that I like that have sugars tend to have significantly less protein and if you're only eating one thing, I think protein is important. I understand in your scenario that your choices have the same amount of protein, but that's not the case for the foods I eat on a regular basis.

It is so hard to do! I lived alone for five years and threw away things often. It is so disappointing. I think the best idea is not to plan a list of groceries to buy, but to plan specifically what you're going to eat and buy the items you need for those meals and snacks. Obviously things like almonds, frozen or canned…

I focus on how my clothes fit ... I have a hard time seeing changes day to day and my scale is fickle.

So Delicious Vanilla Coconut Milk! It's sugar free, sweetened with stevia I think.

Buy a crock pot (I'm sure you can find a used one that could be cleaned up) and cook for the week. I do this to keep on track during the work week when things get busy. As long as you can get used to eating the same thing a for a few days in a row, this makes things a ton easier. Here are a few of my favorites.…

I don't think it is ever appropriate to comment on an individual's weight loss unless they have shared details of their "journey" with you. (Wow ... that word is a cliche.) Unless someone has made it public knowledge that they are working hard and trying to better their lives by losing weight, I would never make a comment.…

My mother has sleep apnea and struggled at first with her CPAP. Her doctor gave her a week's worth of Xanax to help adjust ... as I understand it, it can be uncomfortable and somewhat disorienting at first. She used them for about three days, and has been comfortable with her machine since.

I love juice, but often find myself skipping the juicing process due to the ridiculous clean up process and my general annoyance at spending time in the kitchen during the week. (Also, I don't have much counter space and excuses, excuses, excuses ....) During the week, I've opted to purchase bottled juices. Suja and…

I recently got back at it after six months studying for an exam. I gained a *few* pounds along the way and was having a difficult time finding motivation. Vitamin B-12 injections and lots of green juice have helped increase my energy levels significantly. It's much easier to find motivation when you're not feeling…
