  • Will make my diary open. Working single mum to a 21 month old here, obsessed with eating bad food as I justify it because of her (have no time, no money etc etc) but trying to get back in shape after realising that the last time I was slim was 9 years ago. I'll work out how to make diary open and add you.
  • Mine improves as a lose weight but also I notice a huge difference in body brushing every day and moisturising - I don't know how/why it helps but it always has in the past for me and after doing it for two weeks it's so much better already! Also, LOTS of water!
  • I'm going on holiday this weekend and all I can think about is how hideous I'll look in photos and annoyed that I didn't start eating better sooner BUT I'm doing something about it and I'll be thinner than I would have been if I'd stayed eating the way I used to. When I lost weight a few years back to be honest I still…
  • Yes, it's the only thing that works for me. About five years ago I was slimmer of the year from using this format (not on this site in particular that time but a pretty much identical one from before this one existed or was as good). Obviously everyone is different but admitting to myself and logging what I eat is the only…
  • Oh yeah, and I added tomato juice. I love it! It's meant to be very good post exercise in refuelling and helping you recover quicker too.
  • Soda for sure. Other things I'll have in moderation, but bread and meat very rarely. I'm almost a vegetarian but it's mainly because I don't want to eat anything I don't know had a happy life so I will make exceptions if I know the source and welfare of the animal. I downloaded a book called How To Eat and it's really…
  • I have a spinach and blueberry juice for breakfast everyday, it actually fills me more than porridge does but only just. I normally have soup for another meal and then something more substantial for the third meal. It works for me as it means I can look forward to a proper dinner in the evening, plus I love soup and…
  • My brother was visiting me this weekend and I haven't seen him for a year so we went I out for dinner and drinks. Oh, the drinks! Three ciders, a wine, two bloody Marys and I've got myself a couple thousand calories on that alone. I hardly ever go out so at least there's that but I work in a bar and I see people come in…
  • I'm afraid the MFP is accurate, obviously there are I some variants based on the he yoga you're doing, some yoga practices are even less than stated but not many are much more. Doing it in a hot room doesn't make a bit of difference to how many calories you burn either, it feels harder but you're not doing any more. Hot…
  • I struggle with fibre, unless I eat beans for every meal and a lot of the food high in fibre gives me trouble with my IBS. I never take food supplements or vitamins but I now take pysyllium husk tablets - in the past after a colonic hyrdrotherapy treatment I was recommended the husks to drink in water so I'd had them…
  • I rely a lot on soups when dieting as they're delicious, satisfying, filling and as long as you're not choosing silly high fat ingredients then they're very low in calories. I love soup! I'll generally have soup for one meal of the day then I have more calories to play with with the rest of the day plus I know I can have a…
  • Actually you don't get the same effect. I saw some tests about this on a medical science programme a few years ago and the took two identical meals. One they blended with a glass of water to make a soup of sorts, one they ate solid followed by a glass of water. The people who had the soup version stayed fuller for much…
  • 12 minutes, when I was fit and slim and regular runner it only ever went as fast as 11 but more often than not it stays at 11.5 to 12 minutes. There's something about me that just won't go any faster no matter how many years I train - but I don't mind so much anymore as I can last longer and I've stopped caring how slow I…
  • I can't go faster than 12 minute mile, I don't mind that at my current weight but when I was 123lbs and had been running miles and miles for over a year I thought it'd get faster! I know I'm not the slowest runner ever but I certainly am on the running circuit I do (there are tons of running clubs near me so everyone is…
  • A few years back when I was slimmer I ran 3 times a week for about 18 months. I hated it every time. I was also never any quicker at the start of running to being a regular, fir runner, I could run for longer but I've always been painfully slow. I do about a 12 minute mile. I get embarrassed about it and will never run…
