1lb is 3500 calories. You didn't gain weight. Did you eat a lot of sodium? Sounds like a messed up scale or water retention.

mine is open. I eat between 12-1400 usually.

Let me point out I said "generally" stupid. Which means usually, but not always. As in it's not stupid when it's medically necessary. Anyways. People are too sensitive. Let's remember this is the internet before we go getting all offended. Also thank you for so kindly answering my question. :)

I  carbs with all my little heart. I eat lots of them, and get them from good sources.
-
I still don't understand why it's assumed I don't know anything about it. I know the science behind why carbohydrates are important. What I was asking, is what do people who do low carb diets eat day to day? Out of my apparent "passive aggressive" curiosity, lol. I don't see why me defending my opinion makes me so awful,…

If it's a medical necessity that's a different story.
-
Nobody provided a substantial argument. I'm not bigoted or judgmental whatsoever.. this is the internet. It's apparently quite easy to misread.
-
I also did low carb for a long time, by the way. I did Atkins. I was lethargic, and ravenously hungry. Carbs fill you and give your body fuel. And maybe I'm stupid, but yeah. I get veg is low carb. I don't get how eating primarily vegetables gets you to 15,16,1700 calories. Just for arguments sake (before anyone gets all…

My poor boobs died with my fat. I was a C, now I'm a pathetic excuse for an A. I'll buy new ones someday!

I remember the day I was out of the obese category. :) It felt so good. Now I'm in the "normal". You can do it! Congrats on the accomplishment. :) You're doing awesome.
-
I reward myself with new Lululemon gear, protein, and preworkout. i'm not normal LOL.
-
This is what I do, and it works for me. I eat at my normal calorie deficit to lose weight. I do about 20 minutes of HIIT training a day, and alternate between arms and legs to give each muscle group a break (switch off every day). I eat a fairly high protein diet. I'm still losing weight, but I am absolutely putting on a…

I personally prefer upping my poptart game with the ever so delicious poptart lasagna. So you get the cookie-dough kind and the brownie kind- mmkay? Then just LAYER THAT ****. ALL OF THEM. WITH CHOCOLATE ICING. I suggest layers of actual cookie dough for that added fat busting BOOM. Pop it in the oven for like 15- and…

That's exactly my point, you just stated it way better LOL.

If it's medically recommended by a doctor, I'd say it's safe to say it's a different story. Anyone else, I'd really like to see the result of them taking it up with a reputable nutritionist.
-
This is still going? Makes me want pancakes.
-
It's such a typical "dieter" mentality. I really want someone to tell me it's beneficial to restrict yourself from eating ONE cup of whole grain rice or quinoa, that alone would push over most low carb dieters total daily carb intake.
-
Exactly. "Two recent studies in the Annals of Internal Medicine, however, report that individuals on a low-carb diet obtain the same amount of weight loss after a year as those on more traditional low-fat diets. It is important to note that, according to Dr. Donald Hensrud, Weight management specialist at the Mayo Clinic,…

http://www.fao.org/docrep/w8079e/w8079e0n.htm http://www.fi.edu/learn/brain/carbs.html I found literally no information to back claims that carbohydrates are not important.
-
I should have been more specific, I think it's stupid with strenuous regular exercise. Your body needs carbs for fuel with heavy exercise, that doesn't require knowledge of what a low diet carb consists of that's just fact.
-
I guess that'd make sense. I'd still think the fat intake would have to be pretty crazy high since most foods are either carb high or fat high. hm.

^ditto

totally agree. I can't do bench presses unfortunately (I cracked my sternum a couple years ago and it's still way too painful to do that type of motion with weights, but I use free weights like a mad woman.
-
Hit 270lbs on the leg press. personal record.

example of a small lunch- Mediterranean quinoa w/ jalapenos dinner- whole grain pasta with evoo, seasonings, garlic, olive oil, parmesan, and black olives snack- plain greek yogurt mixed with canned pumpkin, nutmeg, and stevia with chopped walnuts/cinnamon
