In the book, "The South Beach Diet," the doctor/author recommended a teaspoon of Metamucil 15 minutes before each meal. It's made of psillium, which is simply a very high fiber grain. I am like you. I eat a regular meal and I'm okay, but later in the evening I get the munchies. I have modified the doctor's advice and I…

I agree with the poster who said there is nothing she wouldn't give up to lose weight. However... I loooove chocolate and every now and then I'll treat myself. If my weigh program is working like a clock and I am moving toward my goal I may on rare occasion get a small candy bar. But every morning with my coffee, I add a…

Way to go! You are an inspiration. I started in March too. I'm a 5'8" man and initially want to get down from 195 to 175. I'm more than halfway there. Last time I checked I was at 182. Just 7 pounds to go. I will keep going, and you do too. You are so close! Congrats again.

Hi, Kait. I know it's not Saturday but I haven't checked in for many weeks. I moved from Northern California to L.A. My current weight at my last official weigh-in was 182, down 11 pounds from my starting point.--Jim

Thank you, Carmendu. Your encouragement is much appreciated. I've lost 3 pounds so far and I see you've lost 8. Right now, that seems like a huuuuge accomplishment. Best of luck to both of us. And I will take you up on your offer to friend you. I only have 3 myfitness pals so far, and the more the more encouragement we can…

It does seem to go slow sometimes. I've been on MFP for a little more than a month and lost 3 pounds. That's great, but not the amazing losses some have. Like you though, I'm not trying to lose a lot -- 20 total would be fine with me. You and I, we're moving in the right direction. Hang in there! You're not…

I weigh myself in the nude. That way I know there is no variation in clothes weight.--Jim
