I was totally against calorie counting up until this month. Now, after seeing a dramatic swing in weight (only 1 week in) I am a believer. The only annoying part about it is weighing out the food but that doesn't bother me anymore. The results are much more important than a couple of inconvenient steps, atleast to me.…

Agreed! I will do tha for sure

Wow..this thread really went south, fast! Mods, please don't delete the entire thread but feel free to remove the negative posts please.

I don't do it to impress anybody. You are way off base and insulting. I was 325 in 2011 and my not do impressive 3 days a week at the gym with good eating habits got me under 250 with no trainer, just raw willpower. This site is supposed to encourage people, not undermine. And last the last person said, where are you…

And for this reason is why I wanted men to give me their input, ladies. All of your points are valid but comparing another man with my goals and what we eat and their progress just motivates me more. I'm 5'10, 247lb....I have an office job with a true goal weight of 200lbs. Nothing personal ladies, this is your forum, no…

I like steak and potatoes, chicken and steamed veggies, italian foods, Jamaican food, American food, Asian cuisine mostly. I lost a ton of weight not recorded on MFP. 1630 is what MFP recommended for a 2/lb a week weight loss. It's an adjustment but nothing I haven't done before. Last year u significantly cut my cals and…

Thank you last quote...Please do not look so deep into the headline. I'm merely wondering what other men eat to achieve their goals. Like he said, there are tons of other posts specifically for women. Ladies, let us have 1 of your 100 mil. Thank you all for your input.

That is exactly what I do!! The other night I had one slice of a large sausage pizza. It was approx. 390 cals. Even after that, I still ended up with a deficit of 350cals to eat back, which I saved of course. I wasn't a fan of calorie counting when I began my weight loss journey due to my significant progress without it.…

Congrats dude. I would like to keep myself up like that at 50! 15% body fat is great. It seems like you are a meso-endomorph like myself. Which means we gotta focus on cardio and strength training equally to balance out. Keep up the good work.

I think you should maintain when you have lost a considerable amount of weight in a short time that is reasonable to your lifestyle. For myself, according to BMI, I am 55 lbs overweight. However, I wear large or xl shirts, 37" waist, low 230s but feel the best I ever have in my adult life. I am not settling with this…

Love that response! Being brutally honest is hard when it comes to yourself but is needed.

Yes, I live by this!!

The only calories I count is the ones I burn during a workout. I eye ball my food and know after trial and error how to eat a reasonable portion.

Get about 11,000 or 12,000 steps in per day and you should hit that 1k calorie mark

Night Shift is the best. Yes I agree with the OP, need more people that are lively and can keep us company. I work three nights a week

Improved health, improved sex life, and vanity.

I'm not giving up on this thread. Cmon people, stand up!

Thank you for sharing. Would like others to share their stories as well. :)

Go to the gym three times a week. Start off with the elliptical, at about a 6 resistance level, for 30 mins. Try to aim for 400 cals or more burn. Enter your true weight into the machine so you can get a more accurate reading for calories burned. Do that for 2 weeks and then up your resistance and elliptical time by 5…

I enjoy my cardio workouts. I'm constantly thinking about moving my body and getting some caloric burn out of my day. My mind has been programmed for a thinner me and I have made significant progress.

My weight fluctuates 5 lbs up during the week. Even though I do meal prep and eat consistently throughout the week. I have my "cheat meal" during the weekends but I eat a reasonable portion size, drink a good amount of water, and work out on those days. I just don't get it. I've been at a plateau for the past 6 weeks.…

I finished watching Breaking Bad for the past few weeks, straight from Season 1 and Season 5. Best show i've seen in years and I enjoyed every minute. Now, I am caught up in Season 1 of Dexter. He is a likeable killer, plays the role very well. I will switch between that and the Orange is the new black. But I hate starting…

This thread should definitely keep going!!!! Good to see black people being health conscience!!!

I used to get winded walking a couple of blocks. I used to shop for big clothes and my knees hurt. I always had high self esteem but after a while, it took its toll on my mood. Losing 89lbs over 3 years, I feel like I can build up to do anything I want. Confidence is through the roof.

Thank you. I work third shift and losing weight on this shift hasn't been that hard honestly. Meal prep, eat healthy snacks (if needed) and drink lots of water. It's mostly mental.

I agree with you Mathjulz. Trainers are necessary but people who are lazy use them as a quick fix. You can hire a trainer to get you into the best shape of your life but what is the point if you are not trying to use that knowledge to keep yourself in good condition independently? That is the point I'm making. Elite…

I hate doing it every morning but I feel guilty if I don't at least keep track of it, especially if I had a cheat weekend due to the holiday. I don't pig out but I also didn't eat the healthiest food. But during the regular year, I have gotten better in weighing myself at the end of the week and trusting in my exercise and…
