I now own an extensive array of coats, jackets and horror of horrors- sweaters!!! I have never owned more Than 2 items in this genre- light jacket and heavy coat. Now, I even keep spares in cars. I have become my mother, my last thought before going anywhere is where is my coat?! Going to a restaurant or movie without a…

I find that I only start thinking about inappropriate food and abnormal portions when I am inadequately dealing with my life. I am seeking to medicate my boredom, sadness, fear, frustration, guilt, etc...with food pleasure distraction. Instead of running to God for support and guidance as I deal with my life. The more I…

I try to cut people slack. I am sure I have made annoying comments to people over the years. When I get annoyed I remember how upset I was when nobody even noticed when I lost the 1st thirty pounds!!!

I still have people trying to convince me that this personal trainer or this product will make it go away. It is quite laughable. I am 45 not 16. I have gone from a size 21 pants to a loose size 4. Excess skin is just part of it. I am quite happy knowing i can fix it if i want to.

Being obese at the end of the day is a mental issue. I just focus on taking care of my health and loving me 100%. I don't try to forget that a have an "obese brain" I don't want my eating addiction to ever get the upper hand again. I am in remission and I want to stay that way. i hit the thrift stores weekly to try on…

Low GI foods are really key. If you still have a good functioning pancreas and your 2 hr post prandial is above 110 you ate the wrong item.

Dropping wheat and potato helped me the most

Focus on you. Take advantage of this time for deep reflection. cleaning out your mental closet and putting your health and happiness first. Remember, food is not comfort, not a rescuer and not your friend. It is just fuel. following the pre surgery regimen properly will optimize your recovery. remind yourself that you will…

try only taking 3 tsp of lukewarm liquid at a time and don't go more than 15 min without liquid this early on. Generally the longer you go without putting liquid in the pouch stronger the cramping. i couldn't tolerate cold liquids for months.

Basically i had to relearn how to eat like a normal healthy person, not like a Labrador retriever. :p Took me 6 wks of pain to finally eat mindfully. You could try a kiddie sippy cup.

Vitafusion fiber gummies2 a day, wendys chili, kale, edamame, kabocha squash, lentils, greek yogurt and lots of coffee are part of my regar diet

Sounds like you are medicating with food. I recommend therapy with someone who specializes in addiction. It is not how or what you are eating, it is why you are eating. If you never fix the why nothing else will work. 90% of this is mental. the surgery, as my surgeon loves to say" is only 10% of your wt loss process"

I actually can think of stuff while I am jogging and completely forget that I am jogging. it is that easy now

Rice doesnt sit well. Which is good because sushi rice is a major trigger food for me. Luckily they do make something called a treasure box. It is a container made of avocado filled with seasoned salmon on a bed of daikon. Perfect for my sleeve

I will point out that practically all of us were weak as kittens the first six weeks. 20 min of exercise was like a 5k. You would definitely have to take a lot of vitamins. there are a million and 1 healthy 1200 calorie diets out there and for most obese people this is a VLCD. I am trying to get to 140 so I reset my cals…

I was Ms irregular 5-6 cycles a year who has now to my husbands chagrin become super regular. Change in cycle seems very common. This sounds like a good question to ask at your next follow up appt

I remember that moment well!!!! I was so excited i shared it at WLS support group! Have you sat crosslegged on the floor yet??!! The floor is freaking hard but your legs don't immediately go numb!! All surfaces are hard now with no *kitten* to speak of. I do recommend the sharper image seat cushion at sams club

There is no cheat day or meal for me, just a cheat item. Then i make myself log it. And i dont regard it as a cheat more of a treat. Because psychologically a treat is rare and singular and normal. I recognize that trigger foods items are poor treat choices and try to not select them . If i do i am aware that the pull of…

Extreme fatigue is normal. Protein and water. Protein for nutrition and water to flush out all the ketones from digesting your fat as well as hydration. You will feel better in6 wks. The faster you hit protein goals the better you will feel even though it is absolute work to get it in.

Calculate your own BMR for your ht, sex and age. I would set it at sedentary then subtract 500 calories a day. Only chose active if you do an hour of aerobics each day.
