  • Hey Gals! The whole topic of "size" is something that none of us should get hung up on....Sizes can vary SO much from manufacturer to manufacturer and even within the same "designer" from style to style! I am 43 (within weeks from 44), 5'5", this morning I weighed 149 (which is more than my ticker, but my vacation caught…
  • My daughter and I LOVE our NIKE Frees...a true crosstrainer type shoe! They are great for INSANITY with lots of support for the side-to-side movements. We also run in them ...they are very light weight and the soles are flexible as we live in a rural area and our road surfaces leave much to be desired. We do not run long…
  • I make the Quaker one minute oats and add... 1. cinnamon & brown sugar plus a splash of milk (lowfat) 2. a 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries (the little "maine" berries) 3. chopped banana and walnuts 4. craisins and walnuts 5. crushed fresh strawberries

  • If you invest in Leslie Sansone...I would suggest her 4 FAST MILES (boosted walking). If you are not up to 4 miles at the start, it has mile markers after each completed mile...Just a suggestion as I have several of her dvd's and this one is ALWAYS my go to one when I do a Leslies workout.
  • My daughter and I did the 60 day INSANITY challenge....then I (she quit due to Track season at School) started with month 1 all over again.....I completed a second round of month 1. When I began my second round of month two, I switched it up with a Bob Harper upper body strength DVD every other day. My daughter and I just…
  • I have a Polar FT7....LOVE IT! I do not think a HRM is an absolute necessity, but like others on here I found out after wearing mine that MFP's calaries burned were quite a bit higher than my actual burn so the HRM keeps much more accurate records. ALSO I find it a great motivator! When I'm ready to quit or feel too tired…
  • Agree with the suggestion of sleep study......ANYONE (any gender, age, weight) can have sleep apnea! However the "average" patient is middle-aged, overweight men....I was diagnosed at 37 years old....140 lbs .....oh and I'm female! Not the typical "apnea" patient....BUT I never felt rested....was very lethargic...had a…
  • Did Tae bo years ago......Loved it! Had great results! Really into INSANITY now and Bob Harpers Upper Strength workout....Keep up the good work Tizz!
  • Kashi GoLean with No fat Vanilla greek yogurt and 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries ....YUMMY! Quaker one minute oatmeal with....a little cinnamon/br.sugar/2% Milk....or I stir in 1/2 chopped banana, cinnamon and 1/8 cup of walnuts!
  • Oatmeal topped with fresh strawberries :-)
  • I used to work with a fantastic lady who told us "younger" gals that she told her hubby that "once my uterus shrinks after giving you a son.... I will look AWESOME!" Her son was turning 36 that year!!!! LOL
  • I love INSANITY....some have mentioned on here that you can sometimes find it used on e-bay....worth a try??? My next purchase will be Turbo-Fire. Good luck!
  • I have only a few friends on here...maybe 6? and only 2 that I know personally. I have FB for keeping up with my "real" friends .... and I like it that way. The only "real" friends I would accept on MFP would be those who I knew that I could absolutely trust to be honest and not prone to being offended about weight,…
  • I think "moments" tend to be more cumulative.....There was the "moment" the girl talked me into the INSANITY challenge...I did it! Then there was the "moment" I signed up for MFP to help me with my commitment to a healthier lifestyle. My "reasons" may sound on the surface to be trite or prideful BUT when I hit my 40's and…
  • Ha ha.....Steve actually had an employee (needless to say he didn' last long) who thought we should run the pump jacks on the oil wells during full moons because the tilt of the earth would "pour" more oil out!!!!
  • Turning 44 in August.....can't stop the clock...but who decided that we have to be old, heavy and out-of-shape! I want to live life to the fullest and to me that means healthy and fit!!!! Life may just begin at 40!!!!
  • Hi....I did the 60 day INSANITY challenge with my 17 year old daughter...I was s..l...o...w...l...y getting to the place where I wanted/needed to be more health conscious and was ready to do something about it. Loved INSANITY...the challenge....the sense of competition with myself. I understand your thoughts about these…
  • I have the FT7 and I just swish the chest strap in very warm to hot water ...like my bathtub before I jump in and then hand it to dry...no problems with mine (yet)
  • Love my Polar FT7.....my first real HRM. It has a chest strap but I dont even feel it ...I tuck it under my sport bra band and forget about it! I think it is pretty accurate as I wasn't loosing on MFP prior to purchasing and found that my calories burned were some quite a bit less than what is suggested on here.....have…
  • The WW little ice cream cups in various flavors are nice to have on hand when the sweet tooth roars...coming from an Ex Ice Cream Addict...I can vouch that the mint chip and the Turtle sundae flavors are delicious...and will calm the raging sweet tooth!
  • Hi....I completed the INSANITY 60 day challenge about mid-April...I only missed one workout the entire time - which was an incredible NSV for me!!! However, I only lost about 4-5 lbs....very discouraging when I would step on the scales. HOWEVER, use your tape measure I lost 3 inches off my chest.....about 4 inches off my…
  • I like scrambled egg/eggwhites with lite cheese...maybe some green pepper and onion... a little salsa...breakfast burrito. You could add some turkey or canadian bacon. I use the La Tortilla smart health wraps...yummy!
  • I did WW about 3 years ago....faithfully for a year and a half...I lost 25 lbs in the process. I think it is an excellent program in that you eat normal food...it's all portion control. I got tired of counting points though....BUT overall if you like the encouragement received in the meetings and the accountability of…
  • Love LOVE LOVE my polar FT7....ordered it on Heartratemonitorsusa.com. Monitor with a chest strap is a MUST! I learned the hard, expensive way :-(
  • Oatmeal...add some walnuts or fruit like blueberries or banana. Kashi Go Lean (1/2 cup) with 1/2 cup frozen Maine blueberries (the tiny ones:-) and 1/2 cup Chobani Greek yogurt...vanilla no fat. Very filling breakfast.
  • DVD's are great for at home moms....go to Walmart...buy a Bob Harper or any of the many fitness dvd's. Start with small dumbbells (you can buy these at walmart too) like 5 or 8 lbs.....You can also find Cardio workouts....if you aren't big into excercising...start with a Leslie Sansone Walk at Home (Four fast miles is my…
  • Yippppeeeee!!!!!
  • I have Weight Watchers digital kitchen scale!!!! Love It!!!! Just last night my daughter said REALLY MOM! You are actually going to weigh the cheese? Yep! I don't weigh everything, but do often enough that I can eyeball pretty accurately when I have to.....
  • I jump on the scales every morning.....Keeps me focused. The daily fluctuations do not discourage me as I'm aware of "water" vs actual "gain" feeling. It keeps me motivated...reminds me that today is a new day. I only log weight lose on MFP and then only if it is a true loss and once I stay at that weight for several…
