  • Drink plenty of water, keep plugging away at it, and if you're only watching calories and not caring about the rest, well... start caring. Keep under on those carbs, fats, saturated fats, and even sodium. Good luck!
  • Hi! Looks like we've lost/are trying to lose around the same amounts. I'll go ahead and add you, and we'll keep each other going for those last 30-some pounds. :)
  • I live on campus and eat pizza almost every day because it is the only decent food the cafeteria serves that I can force into my mouth. As long as you limit yourself to one slice (or two on a good day when you're not snacking much), it's just fine to have pizza. :)
  • I lost 14 pounds my first month, and plateaued immediately. Now it's in the ballpark of 4-6 a month, when I'm not just randomly plateauing.
  • Keep your sodium intake in check. It's a silent killer.
  • I only emotionally eat when I go home from college on the weekends. My family isn't all that nice, and they sort of enable it. So I tend to avoid going home as much as possible. I always lose more when I've stayed on campus because I don't feel the need to sit and eat three bowls of chips. If it's something situational,…
  • Congratulations! You could be a model! And that is one cute kid. :)
  • Even though I am overweight and have been for my entire life, I started attracting guys when I started wearing clothes that fit right (not overly baggy to hide my fat, but nicely fitting clothes that show of my waist-hip ratio), and especially when I started walking with my head held up. If you look like you love yourself…
  • Depends on your body shape and where/how you lose. I have lost 30 pounds. Started at a 16. Now my 16's are baggy, but 14's are still a little tight. I have very, VERY wide hips.
  • I always try to look at it this way: Even if I don't lose weight right away or I plateau for a while, exercise is good for you, period. Like others said, take a rest. Do ten minutes in the morning, afternoon, evening. And you've got 30 minutes. Then try to push it to 15 minutes each time, then 20. Little goals, baby steps.…
  • My boyfriend always says, "I think you are hot how you are, but do whatever makes you happy. Being healthy is never a bad thing." He also often reminds me to go to the gym so that I don't get mad at myself for not going later. That said, not all men are that articulate. I think he was probably trying to tell you that your…
  • I have lost 31 pounds, and my boobs have not budged a centimeter. I'm starting to look a little wonky and unbalanced! A friend of mine with the same problem told me that when she lost all her weight (150 lbs), her boobs were the last to go. I guess keep working until they decide to shrink.
  • Fantastic progress! And I love your dress! :) You look so healthy and happy. Congratulations!
  • I do 30 minutes of weight lifting either twice or three times a week, depending on how busy I am with class, and do 30-60 minutes of cardio (in the form of walking) 4-6 times a week, once again depending on class. I would definitely recommend this method. I lose much more quickly doing weights than when I am doing cardio…
  • Congratulations! I've got 43 pounds to go. Can't wait to be in your shoes!
  • To my teen self: Stop eating quite so much. It's easier than you think. Take your art more seriously! You'll decide to go into it as a profession. No matter how much you love him, don't date him. Always wondering what it might have been like to be together is far preferable to the tears and years it takes to get over him…
  • I get a good 20-30 minutes of walking in every day just going to and from class and running errands on campus, but I never log it. I only log my deliberate "I'm going to go exercise" exercise. I figure the stuff I do throughout the day is just a little extra. That way I'm not cheating myself by allowing myself more…
  • One time when I was in a store, I overheard the two people on register - an employee and the manager of the store - criticize me for the shirt I was wearing. My favorite shirt. A shirt that I bought at THEIR store. The one girl said, "Who would WEAR that?" And the manager said, "I have never sold one of those." Lo and…
  • I have the downturned mouth, too. People accuse me of being in a bad mood all the time because I'm also introverted and naturally not talkative. Really, I'm not upset! I just have a grumpy face and a quiet disposition. I also have, like someone else said, vampire-ish teeth. And the longest toes ever. I'm weird all over!
  • I'm a really, really picky eater. I sometimes wonder if it's a disorder (a form of OCD maybe) because I am very habitual and methodical in my eating. Plenty of what I eat could probably qualify as "junk." A combination of having a bad gag reflex if I don't like a food (making me afraid to try new things) and having limited…
  • I started out just exercising without watching my calories. When I plateaued two weeks later, I started watching just my calories. When that stopped working, I started watching fat, then carbs, then saturated fat, and now I've finally added watching sodium into it. I just took it one step at a time, and now the weight is…
  • This here. I live on campus and I am a picky eater. 3 or 4 days a week, I eat a slice of pizza for dinner because that is one of the only things the cafeteria here offers that I can stomach. I've lost almost 30 pounds, yes, eating pizza. If you want something that's high calorie/fat/etc., have it. All you have to do is…
  • Calories first and foremost. Fat and Saturated Fat are second. Carbs third, sodium fourth. Everything else I don't tend to struggle too badly with, so I largely ignore them. My diet is consistently very low in cholesterol and stuff like that, so I just watch those to make sure I'm not going to gain weight or give myself a…
  • As far as the skin stuff goes, I have heard that it can take two years or more for skin to realize there's not fat under it anymore. I also read that it's good to keep toning the muscles underneath, and that will help the skin tighten. Some say drinking LOTS of water and using lotion often are good, too - it helps keep…

  • Fantastic progress! And you're so, so pretty! :)
  • What really has been helping me lately is that I stopped snacking on bad stuff. The stuff was fitting into my calorie/carb/fat/etc. allowance, but it wasn't necessarily "good" food. When I went shopping, I bought more fruits and veggies to snack on, and it has really helped me get off of this plateau I've been on. Try…
  • I weigh myself every day regardless so that I have a good handle on how my weight fluctuates, and I can see what's working for me and what isn't. I always gain 3-4 pounds around TOM, and it always falls right back off a day or two after.
  • Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird. So smart, so kind, so good with his kids....
  • A guy I had known for only a month tried to say, "I love you" on the first date. Um, no thanks. Not quite there yet. I explained I wasn't ready, he promised to back off, and we went on a few more dates because he seemed sweet, and he practically begged me to give it another chance. When I wasn't feeling anything after a…
