Week 5 Day 1 kicked my butt! I was huffing and puffing but somehow made it through. So July ends with 2 days short of week 5. My goal was to finish week 5. Overall not a bad performance.

Exercise minutes sounds good. I'll be aiming for 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week at a minimum, so my goal for August will be to log at least 780 minutes. Continuing my program from July, another goal is to finish C25K this month. Here's to hoping I can run 30 minutes straight by the end of August! Good luck everyone! I'll…

Maybe we could try a distance or steps based challenge. Not sure how this would work for people who do gym workouts or weight training though. Total exercise minutes logged perhaps?

Week 4 is done. Jasneet, good to see you back on track. I've been a little lax with my diary last week. Got lazy and didn't weigh my food. Just been entering approximate calories. Hope I don't pay for it at my weigh in. Do you ladies have ups and downs with tracking?

W4d2 done. I am almost halfway through the program. Yippee!

Thanks for the support ladies. W4d1 done. I ran at a snail's pace but I completed it. As you might have noticed, I've given up on the 30DS. I was just too sore to do both back to back, and I really want to finish the C25K this time. I found a yoga routine for runners which I am going to try on my rest days.

Don't do it.

Week 3 is finally over. Week 4 looks scary. 16 minutes of running! :noway: Let's see what happens on Tuesday. @ Greeshu: Good to see you active again. A bad week here or there doesn't matter as long as we stay committed over the long run. There are some pre-C25K programs that'll help you ease into running. You could try…

@Jasneet: Usually, I tie a ponytail then wrap my hair around in a bun and secure it with claw clips. It stays put quite well. After a 3 day hiatus, I did w3d2 today. Having a running buddy is a double edged sword. When they are committed, it doubles your motivation. But when they aren't, it demotivates you. My running…

W3d1 done. Running for 3 minutes straight was more of a mental challenge than a physical one but I made it. Hopefully the rest of the week will be easier. How's everyone else doing?

Finally week 2 is done! On to week 3 this Sunday.

C25k W2 done. I found a running buddy! To help her catch up I will repeat w2d3 on Friday, then begin week 3. @Jasneet: Long ago when I was more motivated I had a trainer who used to make me do bench presses and lateral raises for my upper arms and shoulders. That might help you.

@Jasneet LOL! Don't feel bad. My little one woke me up 2-3 times last night, and even though I woke up at 5:30am, I was feeling too groggy to exercise, so didn't go for my run. :( Hopefully I will motivate myself to get it done this evening.

C25K w2d2 done.

Hi Greeshma, love for you to join us here! The more people to motivate each other the better it is for all of us. This time you will definitely succeed. :) Today I took a break from working out, mostly because it's the 4th of July and everyone is home for the long weekend. Also my knees have been acting up after my run…

C25K w2d1 done.

Starting week 2 tomorrow. I am not in very good shape and I'm running with a bum knee so I run at a snail's pace. Hoping to pick up pace as I progress. Though I must admit the longer runs in the coming weeks seem quite intimidating. I am using the Zen Labs C25K free app, and haven't had any issues playing my playlists from…

@Jasneet: Will keep reporting my progress everyday. Still need to see if this works out in the end. Did Level 1 day 1 of JM's 30DS. It was tough and I had to stop twice to catch my breath, but on the whole it was quite doable. I can see this getting much easier by day 4-5. I'll be doing this on alternate days only, so I…

First day of July! Completed W1D3 of C25K. Ran/walked a total of 1.9 miles. I'll be doing the 30DS on my rest days.
-
Alright, I'm in. I started the C25K last week and I'm on W1D3 now. So my goal is to complete Week 5 of the program in July and the entire program in 8 weeks. I'll keep updating my progress here.

Good job Jasneet! Every tiny victory is one step closer to the final goal.

Hi everyone. I've been active on MFP for a few months now but I just joined this community. My initial goal is to lose 20 lbs. Have lost almost half of that so far by simply counting calories. I want to get more physically active now. Please feel free to add me.

Hi everyone, just found this group. I've been active here for a few months. So far I've been trying to do this mostly by myself. It will be nice to have some friends to motivate each other along the way. Can I add you guys as friends?
