This. Baby steps. I just had some Fritos and peanut butter balls...true story. I'll fit them into my goals. If not, I know it won't destroy the journey. Eat what you love, just less of it. If you go over, just do better tomorrow. Mmmm KFC...

Sounds like fun! :D Just remember distance > speed at first. Good luck!

I honestly bought a cheaper Syncfit monitor that doesn't even sync with MFP. It's still accurate, but I just have to log my info each time I use it. It was only about $35, though. You don't HAVE to buy one that syncs with MFP. Does it make it easier? Yes, but it's not mandatory. I would check online or in your local…

zero calorie water enhancers. Some are delicious and I don't miss sodas or juices at all. They also have a Grape Crush kind that I swear tastes like the real thing.
-
I'm bad when it comes to cereal. I love me some Lucky Charms or Honey Nut Cheerios, though. I've been eating Blueberry Frosted Mini Wheats, which has 6g of fiber per serving and tastes delicious.

Yes because MFP's database won't be as exact regarding calorie burn as a fitness tracker/ heart rate monitor will be. Definitely worth the money.

I get the dill pickle flavored Pringles... yum!!!
-
Not mixed together, but separately they're okay.

Save your money. Weighing/ measuring food and counting calories is free.

Welcome! I love food too, but decided earlier on in my journey that I'll still snack and eat what I like, but I control what I put in my body and I don't let it control me. Take the time to make friends and post on the forum. Most are very friendly and willing to help. :)

Depends... would that constitute a forfeit? In all seriousness, keep eating beans if you like. High in protein and Fiber and, in my opinion, delicious. There really shouldn't be any need to cut out a whole food group.

Thanks for your input. They always seem to do a nice job and it is a large event community wise. I heard some of the fee goes to a local children's hospital too, so I'm glad to hear it's a fair price.

I had homemade ham and beans (actually 2 bowls) with corn bread and honey... Don't judge me. :p It was delicious but man I'm paying for it now lol.

Steak and Shake milkshakes, though otherworldly in deliciousness, make me sad because they are loaded with about a whole meal's worth of calories. I could make my own at home and save myself 300 or so calories.
-
So much this. Many times, these "juices" have just as much sugar and chemicals as sodas do. I used to be one of those people who thought they were healthy until I started looking at ingredients.
-
I'm looking forward to (hopefully) completing my first half marathon.

I agree... that long without any breaks? Try and find excuses to move. Get a drink from the fountain or the coffee machine, take bathroom breaks every half hour (and on another floor/ area if applicable). Purposely make excuses to move more. You can even park further away from your building so as to force yourself to walk…

Oh sweet Jeebus! That stuff is amazing. A coworker friend shared a piece with me and it was all I could do to not steal the whole bag from her.

Or give it to a family member or friend. No need to waste perfectly good food.

I'd trust your own scale as you use it more often. As long as you consistently see a loss, then it means you're doing it right. More importantly, take pictures and observe how your clothes fit. All are better indicators, in my opinion, than the scale.

This whole thread makes me sad... all the deliciousness and all the calories! For me it was milk. I used to think a "cup" was the large thing I used for beverages.... nope. I shudder at the number of calories I used to drink, let alone eat.
-
This! Oh man, I used to load up a bowl (or two) thinking it wasn't too bad... it was. Not really dealing with calories, but I found some Special K and Fiber One bars, although seen as healthier alternatives, have trans fats... I even found gum with trans fats. :(

This. There will always be temptation. Only you can decide what is special enough to treat yourself with. If you don't want to eat it, then don't. You have the ability to say no.

Welcome! :) Feel free to add me.

I literally had to get rid of 90% of my clothes. It was exciting seeing how much I changed. No more meds for me and no more pain. I used to have knee pain, back pain, used to be on antidepressants, etc, etc, etc. All of that changed when I lost weight. Think of it as the single greatest gift that one can give to him/…

Start by understanding that this isn't a quick fix diet; it's a lifestyle change. There is no clear cut ending. You work hard at your health, you have good days, you have bad days, you move on. Create goals (both weight goals and otherwise) that you'd like to accomplish: weight, clothes shopping, some athletic event you'd…

To go running... stupid snow. Oh, and a margarita.
-
Save your money. There are no pills that beat good ol' fashioned exercise and eating healthy.
-
You probably mean "negative calorie" foods... they don't exist, sorry. Just continue weighing/ measuring food and logging everything you consume and you'll get there.

I tend to go with the ones with the most confirmations or double check the info myself. If not 100% accurate it's okay because I know healthy eating isn't a perfect science.
