OP, you are pure class, dealing with him in such a mature and calm way. He should count himself lucky he isn't missing a vital piece of his anatomy after those comments. I also agree he's unhappy with himself and jealous of you. I figure that, because until recently I was the same. I hated hearing about my husband's…

I'm in! Please add me :)

Love this! I found a genuinely 'nice guy' - not one who labelled himself as that in order to deal with a bruised ego - and I married him.

Feel free to add me. On and logging every day. F 38, born Sheffield, live Kent. Aim to lose over 50lbs for a start and see where that takes me. Exactly halfway at present. :)

Posting the same topics over and over again - obsessed or troll?

I was on it as a pain blocker (very effective in my case). I gained some weight (about 7lbs), and I slept a lot! I was under the impression the weight gain was due to increased appetite and possibly less activity, rather than a hormonal type of cause for example. When I came off it, the weight came off also. Will echo…

I've done some of the Fitness Blender ones. There's so many and if you go via their site (not sure if same on YouTube) you can search by all sorts of criteria. Somebody on the forums mentioned Hasfit recently and I thought they looked pretty good.

I think it means she agrees???

Plenty of 'if you weighed less you'd be really pretty', but my husband's family are the worst. A few years ago his Grandma looked at me, sighed loudly, shook her head a little, and asked 'where's that beautiful, slim girl from your wedding?'. I wish to this day I'd been quick-witted enough to say 'I ate her', but I was…

I just find it bizarre that someone who wants to 'pursue a career in sport' is prepared to risk losing muscle mass like this.

There are many inspirational stories on here, but I've found my 'one'. This is the one I'll be coming back to whenever I stumble. Just amazing. Thank you.

Will it interfere with my tin-foil hat? Edit: spelling

I said "some". There should be warnings on the packets if they do. It's usually the sugar-free stuff. (Edited to add final sentence)

You're right of course.

Well, what works, so far, for me is: - Distraction (I definitely get more housework done these days) - Water - Scheduled, pre-logged eating - Protein, protein, protein (carbs make me spike and slump) - Prepared food (effort put in makes me appreciate it more) - Sadly, keeping the really tasty stuff out of the house Someone…

That's great! And it's not silly or tiny. One of my non-scale goals is to do a push-up. Just one, although I'm sure I'll then try for two. I'm 'in training' for it at work using the forklift (setting the forks lower and lower and doing push-ups off them until, one day, my hands will be on the ground).

You're not actually trying to lose that much weight, but unless you are very short I'm going to guess you've set yourself on MFP to lose 2lbs a week? If that's the case I suggest you lighten up on yourself and set a slower rate of loss. Remember this needs to be sustainable. If you're feeling rough and finding it a…

Perfect :) Good luck, sounds achievable and it also sounds like you're being very sensible about it.

That's the idea on this site, to eat them back. Just be a bit careful as plenty of people on the forums suggest MFP overestimates exercise calorie burn, so if you're relying on that, perhaps scale it back a bit (I've seen lots of people say they eat back half) or get a heart rate monitor so you know better what you've…

That's fantastic - congratulations!

Congrats on your loss!

Many of the ads on this site are distinctly unscientific/faddish - I wouldn't worry!

Switched for a banana instead of chocolate for my last hundred calories of the day. Although, according to the ads on this site that's 'one food I should NEVER eat' ... :ohwell:

I have worked in a restaurant. I don't know if that makes me more or less forgiving of bad service. My pet peeves are as OP said, finishing the meal and not being able to get or pay the bill, and also when they clear one diner's plates while the other(s) is/are still eating. On the other side of the coin, my dad leaves…

I've lost 24lbs so far, eat pretty healthy and drink lots of water. I have good skin, but I'm 38, so perhaps less elastic than it was! I carry a lot of weight on my face so weight loss affects it quickly and noticeably. I'm looking healthier but I have to admit older. I can live with that.

My husband and I weigh about the same (woohoo!), but he's 9" taller (boooo!). Bigger portions works pretty well with him, but if that's not working for you then I would increase the frequency of his food intake - I don't mean to make him sound like a domestic pet. Hubby has extra, tasty (this is key) snacks during the day.…
