I have never set food in the gym. I agree with a previous poster that most weight loss occurs because of what you are eating and not necessarily how much you are working out. I exercise 4-5 days a week, using either Wii Fit or 30 Day Shred. On days I don't do one of those things, I try to at least get in a small walk. The…

Yum, thanks for posting this!

When you say you look at the things you won't eat, do you mean that you've tried that food before and didn't like it? Or you won't eat it because you haven't tried it and assume you won't like it? Your tastes mature as you go, if you tried something as a kid and remember "not liking" it, perhaps it's time to give it…

You most certainly CAN do this! I had a similar self-realization just before I started. I think it's a key part of why I've been successful. I realized that and it just made me that much more determined to lose the weight and get my self-confidence back. I've thought many times about trying to lose the weight, but it…

First off, congrats on your loss! We've lost about the same amount so I know just what it's like! Good work! From everything I've read, when you switch to a new routine you can expect to stop losing weight, or even gain a few lbs, for about 3 weeks of your new routine. I know this was certainly true for me when I stopped…

This is great! Very inspiring. Sometimes it's so easy to be focused on a number on the scale and totally forget about all the other measures of progress there are. Great work!

I usually prep some meat for kabobs (chicken or pork usually) and throw the meat and marinade (if any) into a ziploc baggie in the cooler. Then when they're ready to have their hot dogs, just thread some meat onto some skewers and you'll be good to go! I wouldn't be surprised if your camping mates would rather skewers than…

I personally wouldn't. If he was being rude to you before you lost weight, he was basically giving you a glimpse at the type of person he is. If you were to start dating him, and he were to start making rude comments to someone who was overweight, wouldn't you feel awful? I would, because I would know how it felt like to…

I try to eat clean but am not 100% there yet. My diary is open and I've lost 27 lbs using MFP to track my foods and increasing my exercise so feel free to add me!

Peanut butter + whole grain toast, nuts, high-fibre/protein cereals, pita/crackers & hummus, greek yogurt with fruits or granola, smoothies, etc. All good, healthy ways to eat the rest of your calories while staying under on your other numbers.

I get Subway now and again. Usually a turkey breast with veggies, light mayo on whole wheat. The calorie count isn't too bad for it, but HOLY COW the sodium is through the roof. Once I started tracking my sodium, I stopped eating at Subway as much.

Great topic! Posting to mark for later :D

Thanks for the recipe!

Going for a walk is definitely exercise. I started with walking and playing Wii Fit, which isn't very intimidating either. But with both exercises, if I pushed myself I could tell it was making a difference. After awhile, I had more energy and wanted to try more and exercise more regularly. It did wonders for my mood! You…

After my first few days of Level 2, this is just what I needed to see! Congrats! You look amazing :)

My bf and I were hesitant to try the whole wheat pasta, but once we gave it a whirl we found we actually liked it better than regular pasta. Same with brown rice vs. white rice. I think we were just worried about it because we didn't want our comfort foods to taste too "weird".

I'd be happy to help keep you motivated! Feel free to add me!

Great NSV! You rock buddy!

Besides making sure to log all your activity, such as your walks, and eating back your exercise calories, one thing that being on a lower cal restriction (MFP put me on 1200 when I started) made me realize was how off my portion sizes were. I could still eat everything I would regularly for the most part, if I just changed…

Hi Veronica! Welcome to MFP. You sound determined to reach your goals, so you've definitely come to the right place! I am a 20-something who also decided it was time to get fit before I turned 30 (I have a few more years to go, but figured why wait any longer!). This site has helped me immensely since I joined, I don't…

I'm 5'7" and my goal weight is 135 lbs. I'm at 141--142ish now and I can pretty much admit now that the last few lbs I want to lose are only vanity lbs. My point is that you're at 130lbs now and most places will tell you that for someone as tall as you (and I), a healthy weight range is between 128 and 155, depending on…

Wow great job, you look fantastic! What a great example of how we can accomplish our goals if we stick to it!

This is pretty similar to how I keep my fridge! My veggies are all on the top shelf (along with a container of milk that's too big to fit on the other shelves), dairy and eggs I keep in the middle shelf. Meat all goes in a slide out drawer under the top shelf. Leftovers get wrapped tightly on the bottom shelf, where I also…

As long as you keep the batteries charged, store the board properly (never on it's side) and using the carpet extenders (if on carpet, of course) it should be pretty accurate. I always make sure I'm wearing pretty much the same thing and select the same clothing option (light, heavy, other) every time. I try to do it at…

Haha that's a pretty funny NSV. Glad it wasn't scary news!

That's awesome, you look so much happier! That's the real bonus :) Congrats!

Bump for later :)

Welcome back! Feel free to add me! I give support and motivation anytime I have a few minutes to spend here :)

Welcome and good luck! I've been here for 3 months and what everyone says is true, this site is great for support! Feel free to friend me, I'm always willing to help motivate!

Your food diary isn't open so it might be hard for people to offer you advice to help you out. Don't be afraid about opening it up, people here are supportive and just want to support healthy lifestyles! Without seeing this and going only on the little bit of information you've provided, I can only really ask you…
