A lady I used to work with came out for drinks and supper with some co-workers and as soon as she saw me she said- "wow you're looking so great! You have a teeny waist and I can really notice a difference in your face!" (Apparently I was walking around looking like the kool-aid man:laugh: ) It made my day!

I find the same thing- people ask about how expensive it is and when I say that we've stopped eating out we're way ahead even if our groceries are up, they are surprised when I show them the math :) Also veggies and fruits are cheap, especially when you buy in season, go to farmer's markets or grow your own. (We don't have…

Excellent stuff! Just throwing in my experience but when I've gone through induction there are two things that are an absolute must to get through it: 1- broth. I found having at least 3 mugs of broth each day during the flu helps. (mineral/vitamin rich bone broth is the best) 2- fat bombs. When I go through induction I…

I have a similar rule- when I'm on my crimson sabbatical I don't even bother weighing in. The scale will be up, clothes won't fit the same and I'll be puffier than I am normally (say 4 days down the road) Although to curb cravings I've found a slight drizzle of either honey or real maple syrup on a couple of pieces of…

Ha ha! Can you hear my Canadian accent?

What boggles my mind is the fact that people quote "IIFYM" as a reason to eat junk. Take a step back and think about who sets your macros?!? The Pope? George Clooney?? No- you do! It's the ultimate cop-out. You set your own macros to be whatever you want it to be, so of course you can find a way to finagle pizza and pop in…

I love that show! Even though I have mine I still watch it and get excited for those ladies. I also wish I knew a "Randy" :) A most excellent problem to have indeed- and still melting (thank goodness my wonderful mother-in-law is a seamstress!)

Welcome to Paleo! I've been working towards a happy balance between Paleo and Keto for about 6 months (admittedly I still enjoy high fat fermented dairy like greek yogurt, goat cheese, etc on a weekly basis). I love this lifestyle as it allows me to eat until I'm full, I'm fuller faster, I recover faster from exercise (at…

a few chopped toasted pecans, a couple of tbsp of goat chev, drizzle of honey- small snack but decadent, natural and deeee-lish!

Roast some of them them, skin them and blend them and use as a sauce base or thickener?

If I see a bug struggling to get out of a puddle I will find something to scoop it out with and place it somewhere safe. (Yesterday I saved a moth from drowning in a puddle). On the flip-side, I don't really like bugs being near me (what can I say, I'm a softie for a creature in need)

I'm down 6.5 :) Hard work is worth doing!

That if you are seen eating sensible portions of healthy food people will tell you that you have an eating disorder. On the flip-side, if you are seen indulging in a treat people tell you how fat it will make you.

If you're a watermelon lover try mixing diced watermelon, a bit of lime juice, lime zest and basil for a summery watermelon "bruschetta" :)

THIS!!! And it's incorrect- you live your life every day. Not just this once. Life happens daily.

2 things drive me; one is vain and the other serious. My number one motivator- being healthy: I have plenty of family who struggle because of weight, metabolic disorders, etc that could have been avoided by lifestyle choices. I don't EVER want to be too fat to chase kids if my husband and I have a litter, I don't EVER want…

Hi All,. My name is Dana, I'm 28, have lost roughly 30 pounds in the last year (but slowly, not really the pace I want to maintain), am looking to lose approx 40 pounds - my goal weight is 135. I'm getting married in 10 weeks though I'm not looking to drop 40 lbs in that short time! Just want to be healthy and maintain a…

Snakes and lizards do not scare me (I have a healthy respect for them, and don't handle them carelessly or just because I can)- but finding a snake nest is exciting. Still afraid of spiders though.
