I was 5lbs 1.5 months ago and now 10lbs, it's very very hard. The last 5lbs before took about 2-3 months to get rid of and now have to do it again haha. Stay extremely persistent :) Edit: The key to getting my last 5 out 10lbs was to really start eating more.

Worked for me perfectly :) People are used to thinking (including my family) that if you are on a 'diet' (despise this word) you have to cut out all the good stuff - it becomes annoying. Nobody can live like that. Patience is the hardest thing but as you're changing your lifestyle, might as well get used to it and it…

If I don't track the exact calories using MFP I created my own food diary just to see the trends but tracking is one thing that has kept me accountable to weight loss.

At the same point but less weight gained back. I'm throwing myself back into what I know and ignoring everything else at the minute. The same point - calorie deficit, exercise and patience. I also wrote a thread about this.

Don't feel anything really, I thought I would but I don't. When I realise it myself, it gives me true happiness as I notice the hard work that goes into it and it's such a rewarding feeling.

Thanks so so much. I am feeling in a more positive mood by talking to people about it. I'm planning to jump back into a routine and set myself goals including weight loss but with things I enjoy in general and will work on it from there gradually till I'm back to my normal self. I have stress techniques too but I was…

I'm sleeping 8-9 hours per night now it's wonderful :) I'm finding it difficult to be less anxious in the day and really focus on losing weight I gained

Thanks for the replies, my stress was so bad it induced a second but brief episode of depression attached with anxiety, I feel I'm in the recovery mode now and my body is naturally healing but I want to help it, I'll continue exercise as it has helped me, I'll also try meditation as a new experiment :) Has anyone overcome…

Isit about gradually building a routine? I felt great yesterday then lethargic again at 9pm

I really enjoy cardio and strength training videos from FitnessBlender, been using them since I started. I also did Jillian Michael's Level 1 30 Day Shred but it was a pain, however it did make a difference...whatever you enjoy :)

Copied my post from a similar thread: I was eating quite low (1200-1400) and got tired of the plateau as nothing was occuring. I increased my calories to 1600-1700 for the first two weeks and I gained 2lbs, but since I like eating more I continued as I was aware it could happen. A week ago I dropped the 2lbs I gained and…

21lbs in about 4-5 months, main thing is keeping it off. Still working on my last 5lbs slowly. How to do it: Ignore a lot of the stuff you've been previously. Learn about calorie deficit and do not restrict the things you love is the biggest tip just moderate how much you eat.
-
What exactly do you mean by diet? I ask because so many people say does not matter what you eat as long as you're in a deficit then the word 'diet' is thrown in. Can you explain please?
-
Fell off track reasons: -Tired of not losing weight/plateau -Cravings -PMS times Getting back up: -Tired of feeling crappy -Get back into exercise routine -Think about long-term -Make a few changes

Mine has slowly started to decrease and I seem to have slightly better body composition doing JM's 30 Day Shred - only Level 1 so far and not consistent. I might give that up and do heavy lifting at home 3-4 times per week instead as I think that'll make the biggest change - my belly has always been the worst area and…
-
Well done for getting so far! To get rid of belly fat is cannot be done as a one-target mission, it's still about reducing bf% and working out, eating right etc. I'd suggest add strength training to your cardio workouts.
-
Smaller cups = less sugar But you shouldn't be drinking 20 cups a day, that's odd. 2-3 should suffice, I'd focus on getting cut the amount you drink.
-
I started going by scales about 5-6 months of my progress as I didn't have access to one until then. It made things a lot easier as I never made it a number game. Even now, I don't weigh myself daily and it doesn't bother me. How you feel and look is much more important.
-
I rarely ever binge but when I think I eat/drink lots of junk food (fast food, sweets, chocolate, drinks etc), I don't feel bad as it usually motivates me to eat cleaner the rest of the week as I only eat when I crave them which has reduced a lot compared to earlier times. I usually get cravings at certain times and…

Is there an emotional attachment to eating? Because from your first post which is the only thing I've read, it comes across as it. Once you identify the main cause of that problem, your eating habits may change. If you're eating because you're bored, take part in something enaging and set yourself goals.

Yeah I lost 1.5 stone so far but have stretch-marks, feel much better in general.
-
It may help you though reducing your tiredness from everyday. It's hard to imagine you starting but once you start, you most likely won't want to stop.
-
Congratulations on losing weight, measure yourself after you go for number 2 - same exact problem with me. Was surprised to see how my stomach really looked when it wasn't bloated!
-
Thank you all so much for the kind-hearted replies. I forgot to mention my mother is a little obsessed with losing weight herself so to see me doing well she's never said well done but more like you need to do this now...as if she is the reason I lost weight and owe it all to her :/ It's ridiculous to me personally as I…

Making indian food at home is really healthy as it cuts most of the oils and deep-fried foods you find in restaurants.

Thanks, I am generally a quiet person but rarely do I lash out - I did once haha. I know right, they don't understand how hard it is at this stage either because they've never got that far. I think I'll go the sarcastic response approach now as nothing else seems to be working. My belly is where I have the most stored fat…
-
Hmm the sarcastic approach doesn't seem too bad. My family are impossible to "talk to" it is seriously like talking to a brick wall. They are so stubborn and ignorant of the things they say a lot of the times. Thanks for the replies.

I'm perfectly happy with my weight reading as it is, my main focus now is the inches as I'm not bothered if I lose any more weight but would like to lose the belly fat and tone up. I am away at University, and I have not had spoken to my mother for 3-4 weeks, the first thing she asks is if I've lost any weight which to me…

I use it in MPF because people it's inspiring and gives hope of what you can achieve and you also get good advice on how to get there
