  • Thanks guys, I had a little success today that 1lb dropped off overnight from lowering my calories and exercise, even though it's likely to be water weight I'm going to stick to it regardless. Feel disappointed in myself for letting myself slip so badly
  • Thanks! You're right, I feel the time when I'm at Univeristy is when I'm at most-peace with myself just because I'm not around the negativity of being home and having comments. I think that's a big issue that I'm going to discuss with them. I don't feel that big and as gross as I was made out to be today but have noticed…
  • Thanks for the positive words! It felt really mean as I hadnt seen that person for ages and that's the first thing they say. I also have been overwhelmed/stressed with my University wok which makes it worse, as I do have a tendency to comfort eat and most times I don't but sometimes I induldge a little. I'll definitley let…
  • You'll definitley be ok  Even if you go over your calories once in a while, I don't think it hinders your progress to the extent where you gain so much weight overnight from some extra calories.
  • Change your settings up 1lb or 0.5lbs per week and keep doing what you are doing, you're doing great! These habits will make it easier than giving up right away, well done for sticking at it for 2 weeks. Look at it this way, you can eat more now :)
  • Are you 100% sure you've been sticking to the calorie goal - by weighing things etc.? Usually that's a big factor and sometimes people don't account snacks here and there in their diary and those calories can add up quickly. Not saying that is what you're doing, just something to be aware of. 1200cals for 10lbs seems quite…
  • Did about 35-40 minutes of exercise for the day, am very pleased as I kept pushing myself (planned to only do one workout but done 3)
  • I know, it's wrong :( Maybe I'm putting extra pressure on myself for no good reason. I'm surprised I gained 6lbs as I thought it'd be a lot more. I'm taking it one day at a time and see what happens, will try to build myself back up. I've been reading CBT for dummies book which has a section on self-esteem and weight so…
  • Firstly, the 'one' piece of chocolate is not accurate, I never said only one piece. However I do feel my main problems are snacking so when I do snack i.e. eat chocolate, I feel bad about it only because I feel I am starting out and don't really 'deserve' it yet till I put in the hard work to lose SOME weight first. I…
  • I'm stupid because I'm being really impatient as I feel I HAVE to exercise which makes it feel like a chore. I used to love exercising of free will but lately feel like it's something I have to do making me resent it a bit. The chocolate is one thing, everything just feels really impossible at the minute. I put on 6lbs and…
  • This bit is good and bad - you can now eat more because you need a smaller caloric deficit but the downside if you want to call it that, is it takes ages to lose the last bit. I advise to take it slow and steady, stay consistent - thats what I've learnt from the forum - I haven't lost the last pounds either but I got down…
  • 135lbs was my initial goal weight - still haven't got to it. The lowest I've been is 140lbs
  • Exercise and eating less sugary foods
  • Develop focus of successful weight loss by installing habits.
  • I feel like that now as I gained a few pounds back and am trying to cut the sugar out as that's what is my 'enemy' at the moment. But before, I'd add a treat it once or twice a week, it prevents binging
  • I went through the same thing of gaining and feel like I've completely let myself go. Honestly, the first week is the hardest but once you get through it you'll get into the rhythm. The three things you should focus on are: 1) What you put in your mouth - track everything down using MFP 2) Exercise - Minimum should be 30…

  • Took me about 4 months, if you focus on building habits it'll be a lot easier and you're less likely to stumble
  • My calories were low ~1200 (maybe a bit lower at times) for months and when I upped my calories over 2 months, I gained quite a bit scale-wise but my appearance was exactly the same/less. I kept at it and I eventually lost the pounds I wanted to after a long time whilst eating more. Win-win :)
  • Calorie counting to me personally helps build moderation and when you are successful over a long period of time, it becomes an effortless habit (where I'm trying to go back to now). I hate the word diet itself. It will get easier over time but requires dedication and a lot of patience even when you don't see changes, but…
  • Thanks :) I'm happy being at 140lbs for a while then making my final drop so 7lbs to lose for now
  • I wanted opinions on what my calorie deficit should be and I did think 0.5lb initially, as I'm not that far from my goal. But then thought if I'd get far doing so wanted advice. Thanks Tavistock Toad
  • All about calorie deficits being the key It is easy to fall back into old habits but persisting will get you where you want It's a lifestyle change You can still enjoy foods you love within moderation
  • If you''re starting, it's advisable to take it into baby steps and not rush into anything. I personally don't like the deadline idea because it puts you under pressure. If you're new to exercise, I wouldn't start straight out with insanity. But the general rule of thumb is: 1) Calorie deficit - the most important thing in…

  • I honestly give myself a bit of a break and try to eat less as I don't do much exercise other than walking (very little as well) for the first 4 days. However, I usually have the energy and motivation to really get back on track as soon as I finish and am back at it with no problem. I feel that little break also helps me…
  • No need to waste money, use MFP
  • May take longer as 6 days is not enough time (generally) to notice a real difference. A lot of people have said their weight barely changed during 30 DS but lost inches all over.
  • This can cause problems for you in the future - including losing your hair, fatigue etc. Eat food, stay active and be patient
  • I prefer cardio workouts as they involve the whole body and as I have (everyone) has things to do within the day, it gets the job done for me. I also walk so consider that extra exercise. But like ^ said, whatever you enjoy :)
  • Stress for me, when I get stressed I usually let go of all my good habits and fall into a slump. Extreme stress that is
