Losing 5lbs - 1lb or 0.5lb per week?

I was 140 before, am now 147 and want to lose 5lbs as a milestone, I'm confused whether to go for a 1lb loss (1500 calories) or 0.5lb loss (1760 cals). My goal weight is 135-137lbs and I am sticking to the exercise and calorie deficit as a habit I'm not sure exactly which is the right way to start out again, any help is appreciated thanks

Edit: I'm not interested in deadlines for losing weight so doing it quickly doesn't matter to me, I'm in this for the long haul just had a stumble and trying to get back at it

Well what would you prefer? If you'd prefer 1lb then put 0.5lb, unless you know you won't go over.

I wanted opinions on what my calorie deficit should be and I did think 0.5lb initially, as I'm not that far from my goal. But then thought if I'd get far doing so wanted advice.

Then go for 0.5lb. Generally any more would be for someone who has a lot more to lose.
