Increasing calories to lose weight

Hi,
I'm new to this but would really appreciate any advice anyone can give me.
2 weeks ago I stupidly reduced my calorie intake to 900 a day and lost 4lb. I realise now how unhealthy it is and want to increase it back to 1200-1300, my question is will I gain weight initially until my metabolism gets back to normal and will it be harder for me to lose weight now I've upset my body? Also is 12-1300 calories enough? I don't want to up my intake very suddenly incase I gain the weight I lost healthily.
I currently weigh 141lb, work out about 3 times a week for 45 mins and have a very active job
Thank you
Sophia

I would slowly up your intake. You will most likely gain weight to begin with. Don't fret because of it. But definitely up your intake.0

how old are you and what is your height? for a 5'6 female aged 25 at your weight the tdee exercising 3x/week is ~1950
losing 1 lb a week puts you at 1500 ish calories/day
you may gain water weight initially but you wont gain fat from increasing to a point that is still below maintenance
2 weeks at 900 isnt ideal but itd be stretch to say you've done any metabolic damage0 -
your metabolism isn't going to be affected much in 2 weeks...if you do increase calories and IF you do "gain" it's all water weight...0

My calories were low ~1200 (maybe a bit lower at times) for months and when I upped my calories over 2 months, I gained quite a bit scale-wise but my appearance was exactly the same/less. I kept at it and I eventually lost the pounds I wanted to after a long time whilst eating more. Win-win0
